Do not buy - 4 year review - Housing cracks and water leaks, expensive to maintain – Will not last. I bought this from Bunnings for $500 4 years ago. Initially it worked fine. One thing to keep in mind is, it needs frequent filter replacements and are nearly the same cost as the unit. So yearly you will be spending more than $500. Couple of years ago, the RO housing started leaking through a tiny crack . Bunnings did not carry… Read more
spare. So bought a replacement from local water filter supply store. Today I saw water coming out under the kicthen cabinet. Another housing started leaking. Over past 4 years I might have spend more than $2000 on this system. Approximate cost of filter 1.Sediment filter $10 ( 3 mnths) 2.Activated carbon $50( 3 mnths) 3.another Carbon filter $50( 3 mnths) 4.post line filter $50 (6 Mnths) 5. RO filter $100 ( 12 months)
This 5 stage reverse osmosis works a treat! – This is a complex system to install however I'm not a plumber and I did it so you can too: just read the instructions & be gentle with the fittings, easy! Once you've done your two 3hr water run throughs the water goes from tea colored and smelling yuk to clear and no smell (I'm on tank water, gutters get gum leaves from big tree which rots down).… Read more
I had one leak and that was my fault, not enough Teflon. I thought to write this review because everyone else bagged this product which almost made me not buy it, however when I went to Bunnings they had heaps of Stefani stuff so I thought they must be ok: had a look a the components in the box, looked fine, so I thought I'd give them a whirl, I'm glad I did, I don't work for Stefani and I'm happy with the water. Also just hand tighten the stuff, cracked heads and bases, you're compressing filters that can't be compressed which is why something needs to break. Ok I've had it for a while now and I should add three reservations: reverse osmosis wastes 4.5lt of water for every litre you get to drink (I've put the drain outlet back into my water tank), second the system will make your pump come on and off a lot (as mine doesn't have a bubble but rather a multi speed motor), thirdly as someone mentioned in another review the drain clamp doesn't fit a standard p-trap (however you can just drill a 6mm hole above the waterline and add a bit of silicone if you're not going to recycle the water in some way eg wiking or garden bed etc).
Would never buy again – Bought the reverse osmosos with 3 tanks, returned tank after visible cracks appearing under it, and it happened again after a few months, lucky its still under 12months and returned to bunnings for a refund! do not trust this roduct as your bill for water damage repairs will cost you.
