Bought this blower just over 2.5 years ago. It is very powerful and light and compares favourably to a petrol blower in performance and is much quieter. Unfortunately the durability is not there. It has stopped working after just over 2.5 years after been used once every week or two in a small garden. The battery was tested and is still at 95% so a problem with the unit itself (it flashes 3 red lights). Stihl dealer says it has to be repaired at an unknown cost as it’s out of warranty. I would expect more durability from such a premium priced brand.

BGA60 So Good – I've had a Stihl BG72 since early 90's so over 3 decades old now and it still is going strong without ever having a fault. The wife wanted a lightweight cordless blower to do the back deck and I was contemplating getting the Ryobi 18V One+ ($Au199) that I got my mother as it works pretty good. However being a Stihl fanboy I went and did a bit of research online as well as looking in store. So ended up grabbing a BGA60 which was just over $Au500 mainly for the quality of the unit and that it was variable speed.

The BGA60 is absolutely brilliant. Runs for around 45 mins on usage for a charge. It's so much quieter and so easy to use. The variable speed is a must as all cheaper blowers generally run on a one full speed on or off. The variable speed in the BGA60 (lowest RRP Stihl BGA model to have this feature) allows you to get into corners and channel air with lighter controlled output precision in blowing debris away and towards the right area you want. Another good feature is the metal protection ring around the nozzle exhaust end which prevents wear away. The BGA60 also has adjustable push button telescopic extension on the nozzle length. The BGA60 is pick up and it's ready to go and I haven't used my BG72 since as it sits on shelf collecting dust now. Only downside is that it would be good to have an additional battery but an AK30 is $Au250 so not cheap. I've never run out of power doing the yard and it only takes about just over an hour to charge approx'.

You wont ever regret owning a BGA60...., soooo good.
