Great saw when running, unfortunately it quit with a scored piston after 5 hours, dealer gave me my money back and admitted it was a common issue Show details
Love it so far – Used it three times now to collect jarrah firewood and impressed so far . Fitted the 36 inch bar and skip tooth chain on weekend and absolutely ripped through a jarrah log about 35 inches in diameter . Make sure you spend some time blowing out air filter and around vents and I ensure I grease up needle bearing under clutch drum after each use, I… Read more
run chainsaw out of fuel so no chance of it gumming up whilst sitting idle , when running bigger bar go for max oiling , there is a roll pin that needs tapping down next to oil adjustment screw so you can get maximum rotation. I also run 33:1 not 50:1 as recommended by Stihl . Warm up ya saw for five minutes before use and should last you a lifetime
Saw is rubbish and stihl will NEVER honour their warranties. Buyer beware – When the air filter gets dusty which it will because its a terrible design. The saw will run itself lean to keep up the power then saw will explode. I've had 2 of them both are ruined. I have a tree removal company and I have lots of saws this is the worst of all of them Show details
Big machine, great power – Have owned my saw for years. Used for dropping big trees, cutting fire wood, fencing and slabbing timber. Have had 20inch bars up to a 36inch bar on this saw. Love using this saw. Plenty of power and just keeps going. Show details
Serious must have !! – Thanks to the new computer chip ANY changes you make can take up to 12 pulls to start .. once it re-sets to the change ..starts 2nd pull every time.. Can bring down the biggest trees with ease.. light enough carry around and cut with for a few hrs at a time.. Im replacing the ms660 with this and its MUCH quicker.. .. will revisit this review after a winter of cutting and see if my mind changes.. Show details
Got power! But mechanically terrible! – My 661 c cuts really well with great power when running. After a tank of fuel it just won’t start had it in store which is costly time wise and on the pocket and still same thing happens. Using all still oils and still won’t start. Apparently it’s computer driven inside to adjust running conditions but all it is doing is not working. Can’t wait to get a refund and get a husky again. Show details
