Ok machine, but has flaws – We’ve had our machine 3 years. It’s had issues with belts and also a block in the draining valve. If you’re a problem solver and handy on the tools, you can fix as it goes. But next time I think I’ll spend a bit more on a more reliable brand of washer. Show details

Tears clothes and damages towels – All 5 of my work pants had torn pockets but another staff who I bought the same pants for are all fine, new towels and shirts frayed on edges. I thought my towel were getting old so I bought more Sheridan towels and they are also fraying on edges and lables tearing off.  Show details

fantastic easy to use love my top loader – Washes great, washing cycle quick, spins to the point that clothes are almost dry, water-efficient, bought this machine on a recommendation by a washing machine repairer, the only thing I can fault is its a little noisy, happy wife, happy life ;)

Nightmare washing machine – We purchased this washing machine in Aldi a few years ago, and it worked allright for a while, although it was a bit hard on the clothes. Then recently it began to repeatedly flood the floor of our laundry room, and we found out it can no longer tell when it is filled with water, so it just keeps taking in and overfills the machine and floods the… Read more

floor. There is also no button to stop the water intake but let the washing run, so even if I stand next to it and stop the water when full to prevent flooding, it will then not wash. My current method of washing (until we can afford a new machine) is to start the machine and wait till it is almost full of water, the turn it off to let the laundry soak, then manually wash the load by moving it around with a boat oar, and then run the rinse program while I hang around and stop it in time to prevent flooding, then turn it off again, and then on again and manually run the spin program. Thanks for all the time and effort wasted on this rubbish, and for the water damage, Stirling. Never again another Stirling machine here (or any other Aldi whitegood "great offer"). What a nightmare

good family machine – Our Stirling 9kg has been a great machine. Much better than "popular" brands at twice the price and they are smaller in capacity!. It has handled 3-5 loads daily from this family of 5 for years. .Once the panel got moisture in it and we thought that's it! Remembering that's what happened to a F&P machine we had,but no ,It dried out, and has… Read more

been fine since.

It has started to go off balance a bit when spinning but that's our fault for tossing in heavy items. We throw in blankets ,big towels ,bathmats ,shoes, anything that needs washing. Alter for big loads or adjust for small.

Tangles the clothes a bit. But without the agitator it fits more in the same space. Its a compromise..We've had many different machines and would trust this over other brands. Looking for another soon and will retire this one.

We will buy another Stirling. Our son and his girlfriend bought a Stirling 9kg.Not wanting to spend $700 on a replacement. They to ,have had no issues.

If you have a big family ,on a budget, grab this machine. It wont hurt the pocket like the other brands that seem to break down more than this model..

Excellent machine for the price – Have only done 3 x loads since buying this machine from ALDI in July 2015 and so far all is perfect, the last being a very large load which took over an hour (probably caused by all the 'pausing/stop start spin etc that goes on in the program) but the clothes were spotlessly clean, almost dry, and only a little 'tangled up'. The machine barely… Read more

moves during the cycle so I can't understand those people with 'runaways' (please check the built-in leveller before writing a bad report). I haven't figured out all the program settings yet but just hitting 'Normal' does the job fine as it shakes and weighs the load (pretty cool to listen to) automatically and fills the tub accordingly. The 9 kilo washer was bigger than I wanted but you don't need to fill it during every wash and with the built in timer I can set it to come on during off-peak times to save power ( I haven't used this feature yet as haven't worked out how!)

One minor criticism is the lid which is really light and flimsy and not recommended for putting heavy things on. The other is the smallness of the writing on the display panel which makes it a little hard to read from to far away.

Pricing was $399 and a 3 yr warranty makes this unit very attractive which is why I bought it, knowing Aldi's great return policy. Basically, I saved about $250 on the Simpson I was going to buy but then again missed out on '6 months free detergent'. Shame!

It has a 3 year warranty and costs about $400. How do they do it? – I was prepared to find this machine a bother but thought about the Haier I bought from Aldi 7 years ago that hasn't missed a beat. Fact is: Aldi have a 3 year warranty on it. If it wasn't a good enough machine, that would kill their profits. There was something I didn't understand regarding one of the cycles. Service within a week, competent… Read more

service, free. The repair guy fixes all models. He told me that the machines >$1500 have better parts, but the ones around $800 - $1000, have all the same parts at double the cost. I wish I had a repairman in my pocket for all purchases. It is an excellent product. My main concern is that it has to have been made in a sweatshop for dismal wages. How else could they do it? Add an extra $200 Aldi, and pay your workers more.

Very Basic – The machine is very basic and doesn't have all the bells and whistles other machines have. My lid does not stay open which is a massive pain when trying to remove clothing with both hands. When it spins clothing lean to one side and it makes a horribly loud nose and there is no pause option to open and rebalance. Show details

Terrible and service run around – Exactly the same as Kevin's response. Up to second time to fix a different issue and as my location is too far away no technician has accepted the job. Stopped working less than two years old, not draining water from bottom of machine and has error code EA written in RED – The cycle runs until the water drains to the bottom and then keeps making the draining noise and error code is EA in RED. When I turn the machine off, it turns itself back on....like its possessed lol Has this happened to anybody else? I drained the water from bottom by removing hose but it was not that much water, maybe a litre or so.... Show details

Stopped working properly after the FIFTH load and Sterling won't respond to emails – The first four loads were OK. Then, on the fifth load, the machine didn't fill with water but the agitation worked. We checked the water connections and filter, which were all OK. Great value, hasn't skipped a beat since I bought it Very quiet, gentle on clothes. Very happy with this product! – This machine is simple and easy to operate which is ideal. I've found its gentle on delicates and can be used for handwash type items, as well as handle bulky items and large loads. Quiet during all cycles and is overall eco-friendly. I wonder if the next model is as good as the 2013 model XQB100-Y1066S – Purchased 7/92013 for $400.99. Washes and spins well but tangles the clothes. Not a fan – We purchased a different Stirling top loader a few years ago and were so happy with it we had no hesitation in purchasing another. So disappointed with the new one. one has time or the inclination to wait around to add fabric softener during the rinse cycle. Not to mention that you have to be able to work out which is the rinse cycle. Would I purchase this machine knowing what I do now? Not a chance.

Aldi Warranty Claim waste of time! – Purchased this machine July 2019, worked well until early March 2021. Contacted Tempo as per machine documentation as machine had a 3 year warranty. arrange repair! Phone numbers went straight to message stating mail box full, don't leave a message and to call back another time. Waited 3 days and tried the again, this time you could leave a message which I did. Also advised Tempo of the situation numerous times as nothing was progressing. Eventually sent an email to Aldi Customer Service, they apologised and stated they would follow up and call. Tempo rang me to advise another repairer had been allocated the warranty work. Nothing since, so for a month no action. I have sent more emails - no reply. So good luck if you ever have a warranty claim with Aldi!!!!

Shame on Aldi... Horrible product – This top load washing machine is so bad i don't know where to start. the Stirling brand. This one is from Tempo who have a shocking name. My daughter's experience was just that too. They refused to service her appliance (despite living within Metro Sydney) and said that the issues relate to user error (whatever that means). She ended up taking it back to Aldi for a refund but it was a nightmare experience. Do your research otherwise i'd avoid Aldi!
