I just bought the 190 litre upright freezer today and the packaging didn't include a booklet or any info about it. Does it need periodic manual defrosting?

Can't help you I'm afraid. I gave away this upright Freezer, a gem (through Freecycle), about 2 years ago. Check out a whitegood appliances repairs in Bondi Junction. Possibly on Oxford St. They might be able to help you. Only gave this away as we moved house and due to space restriction we bought a fridge freezer combo. This one still had way more storage. No complaints. Lasted us 8 years or so.

What is the optimum thermostat number for the Stirling 190L , and what does it equate too in Degrees

The manual doesn't specify the optimal setting or it's temp

Ours was on 4 when got it so we have let it there and seems to going well

Sorry cant andwer your question - I have already repacked it and returning to Aldi in a day or two. Frankly its a big peice of junk (thats why its cheap).

I'm considering getting a Stirling freezer (190 L). How often do you need to defrost it please?

The only problem we have had, is that the top element ices over and it's hard to open the TOP drawer, when that happens. Other than that, it is fine. I have never actually totally defrosted mine since I owned it.
