Is it frost free or does it build up ice?

Roslyn
Roslyn

It builds up ice so you need to turn off and melt it down to clean.

I see one review in particular mention poor energy rating, I have had my freezer now for three months. Our last power bill was through the roof literally in comparison with previous bills, switching the freezer off and checking the meter does not show any significant change, has anyone else has an issue like this? . with this appliance being the only change in the household and a phone call to Western Power , I am now crossing fingers and toes the next bill will be respectable. I have switched the temp to low as the freezer is not opened regularly.

We got our freezer ages ago, I think 2013 still going strong, however I don't recall any huge change to our bill.....our bill is usually resonable. The freezer is only opened maybe once or maybe twice a week.

I know if freezers are full of frost they can use a lot of power......if your bill was $100 or so extra then I would say it's the freezer......given freezers and fridges in general are low end power users if it's more then 100 then I would think something else has also contributed.

I have never seen my power bill go up since I bought the freezer several years ago and it doesn't frost up so I am very happy with it!
