Sun solutions were recommended to me by a friend who has her own interior design company. Initially [Name Removed] did a fantastic job. He put together options for my window covering project. [Name Removed] was also very accommodating and flexible with installation, as after, my blinds had been ordered and production commences I had a major flood at the house. The flood led to a delay of around 14 months for installation of the blinds due to the slow rectification of the damage throughout my house by the assigned builder who was terrible.
Now for the bad bit
I contacted [Name Removed] on January 14th 2026 to discuss options available for repairs to two blinds. To be clear, these repairs were to be at my expense, there were not due to a defect of the blinds and it was never suggested otherwise. One blind was damaged by an unexpected strong wind and the other was damaged by the aforementioned terrible builder.
[Name Removed] advised that the two blackout blind skins (fabric) and one blind motor could be replaced and asked me to send through the quote documents by email so he could order the required skins. I sent the requested email the same afternoon and expected to receive an invoice for 50% of the total so [Name Removed] could order the components for repair. No invoice or reply to the email was forthcoming.
I texted [Name Removed] on the Wednesday 28th January 2026 asking if he had received the email and received no response.
I phoned [Name Removed] on Monday 9th February 2026. He apologised and said he had received my email and that he would get on to ordering the skins later that day. No invoice received.
Then we had a baby and got very busy for a few weeks.
I texted [Name Removed] Thursday 12th March 2026 asking for an update and received no response
I emailed [Name Removed] again on Monday 20th April 2026 after discussing the situation with my friend who recommended Sun Solutions in the first instance and again received no response.
I called Sun Solutions office number on Friday 1st May and left a detailed message. I received no response.
I asked my friend on the 4th May 2026 if she had heard from [Name Removed] and was he okay as I had still not received a reply. She advised she had spoken to him recently, he was okay and she attempted to contact him on my behalf. I received no response.
Clearly, [Name Removed] doesn’t want my business now or in the future and isn’t prepared to say as much. Which is a pity as the product is excellent and we have a new renovation project at the end of the year.
I will also be taking this experience up with the blind manufacturer Hunter Douglas as it reflects badly on their brand too.
Unfortunately I can’t recommend Sun Solutions for their poor communication and customer service.
