Light stopped working after 6 uses! – Bought this unit 2 weeks ago. Used 6 times and the light doesn't work. Rotating basket almost impossible to insert into the slots. Update : Have used this air fryer now for approx. 1 1/2 years without further issues. The light must have been an issue with the unit l first bought, so the retailer gave me a new unit as replacement. The rotating… Read more ·  1

basket placement is still a little tricky, but now that l've used it many times l have learnt the knack. Food cooks beautifully in this unit, however the size may be an issue with family sized meals.

Sunbeam 4 in one Airfryer, Nice size! – Bought this over a Tefal as it has the rotating Chip Basket. Chicken cooks great on Rotisserie but takes a little to work out how rod is inserted in machine, guessing practice makes perfect. Downfall is the oven needs preheating prior to cook(I'm comparing to my my Philips which doesn't need preheating) So far so and a little more manual than a… Read more ·  1

Sadly we don't use this, the Philips is easier to use. Looks like I'll be selling it to someone who will use.

Having purchased this product in February 2024, I am disappointed to report that it has already malfunctioned, with the fan failing and the heating function ceasing to operate. Considering the price of $299, I find this to be a rather unreliable product. It only comes with 1 year warranty and can't be replaced or repaired under warranty. In… Read more

contrast, our $80 Kmart air fryer, which is five years old, continues to function without issue. As a result, we will likely refrain from purchasing any further Sunbeam products.

Love this All-In-one! – I am so happy with this Air Fryer, it really does so much more. I don’t often cook fried food, so wasn’t sure if this was for me however being able to roast veggies so quickly without having to heat up the house is a huge win! The Dehydrator is excellent for anyone who grows their own herbs or fruit. The fries basket is also great to make… Read more ·  1

Excellent air fryer – I got my via a school Father’s Day raffle winning. Nice looking black cube, and those glaring blue digital number display. Not much to unbox. Instruction manual is very simple and missing a lot of simple information. Like the door need to be close and if the the start/stop is flashing it won’t start. Plus during some of the heating function you… Read more

will need to press it twice other wise will go through a preheating from 40 degree to 200 degree C, this process took 3 minutes. Once the temperature is reach you will see two icons above the 200 and the start/stop will flashed. This part annoyed me, if you forgotten and walked away it will stuck at this setting, until you pressed the start/stop again.

Another fault or rather a design flaw; the rotating mesh bucket. It is excellent to cook the food in, loved the ideas of cooking evenly. But trying a get it out after it been exposed to 200 degree even using the handling fork; it is not easy. Taken us a few go to get it right now.

On a positive note, the air fryer is quiet to operate, only loud piercing noise is when you set up the various setting. The heat around the fryer is not that hot compare to my other fryer.

Does it cooked well, that I would say very good. Crispy spring rolls, chips and pork chops so far is top notch.

Like all fryer cleaning the wire tray is not easy, need soaking and scrubbing. It does comes with 3 trays so you can rotate them, the drip tray I covered it with foil after I cooked pork chops and I found it difficult to remove the burn fat.

For the next model, an improvement in rotating mesh basket insert and easy removal would make this air fryer even better.

Air fryer - A Great Addition to Our Kitchen – Sunbeam 4 in 1 Air Fryer + Oven AFP5000BK So I have never had an air-fryer before and I have seen a lot of cook books, including eBooks dedicated to this style of cooking, I have been keen to try one out and see how they go. I recently received the Sunbeam 4 in 1 Air Fryer to test and keep for providing a review, and while this was a reward for a… Read more

review, this review provides my open and upfront thoughts on the product.

When it turned up we were quite excited to open it up and see what was in the box, the product came well packaged and there were no concerns. The product box was well labelled and looked great, the fryer and accessories were well packed and safe from receiving any bumps in transit.

The Sunbeam Air fryer has a quality look and feel to it, it is black and has a matt finish to the top and sides, the front face is a high gloss finish and its like a mirror its that glossy.

Everything was individually packaged and it came with 3 mesh grill trays, a non-stick tray to pick-up any spills etc, there is a rotisserie spit for cooking a chicken or something similar, there is also a cylindrical mesh basket for things like chips which rotates so everything is evenly cooked, there is also a tool to help with putting in and taking out the mesh basket so you don’t burn yourself.

Its quite compact, so doesnt take up too much room, but that means you have less cooking room. The buttons are soft touch and there is a digital display for the temperature and the cooking time. There are 4 presets and 3 manual modes and also a button to turn on an internal light so you can see whats happening while cooking which works quite well.

What I liked when cooking is that you can open the door and check how things are going, swap the trays around and it pauses automatically and when you close the air-fryer door it keeps on cooking without being interrupted. It also stays quite cool on the outside, so its kid friendly and no concerns about anyone getting burnt.

The unit beeps when using the buttons and with its 2000w of power it finishes pre-heating quickly and it beeps a tune to let you know its ready to go, it is also quite with cooking. The fan is quite audible when in use and while cooling down, but not overly so.

On our first use we couldnt get the mesh basket to lock in properly and even though we thought we had it in, the right hand-side of the basket would walk itself up and out of its holder to the point that it fell on top the non-stick drip tray and scratched it a little. We found that placing in by hand was better and we could then ensure it was locked in properly, just be careful not to burn yourself! Taking it out was with the Rotisserie handling fork was ok, but again easier with an oven-mit and manually removing it.

We also found it cooks faster than the instruction/cookbook said so we had slightly over done chips, but that’s just a getting used to a new cooking method thing and not a fault.

The next time we used the 3 mesh trays and discovered that unless you rotate the trays and flip the food over, you will have very crispy chips on top and just cooked ones on the bottom, again, we should have known better considering the cooking element is at the top. We have also cooked crumbed fish and the kids dinosaur nuggets and again, you must rotate the trays and flip the food to ensure even cooking. I would even suggest reducing the temperature which would assist in even cooking.

It beeps 3 times to let you know the cooking cycle has completed, the trays and basket cool down and don’t stay hot for long

We also found that the food will stick a little to the trays and mesh basket which is to be expected, it is however easy to clean. The front door also comes off which is a nice feature and assists in cleaning.

While the preheat is fast, I think the actual cooking time while quicker, is almost as long as in the oven, which by the way has a lot more room than the air fryer does. So that in mind, cooking for 1 or 2 people, its fantastic, but for a family, not so much. Perhaps as an additional cooking method when an oven isn’t quite enough.

All in all, we are quite happy with the Sunbeam 4 in 1 Air Fryer + Oven and look forward to trying out its other features and functions and would quite happily recommend the produce.

Great for frozen food – As this is my first time using an air-fryer it has been an interesting learning curve, especially with the temperature settings in the manual. The breasts cooked way faster than the manual suggested and could… Read more

have done with a few spritz’ of canola oil. Even though my first batch of chicken failed I was impressed with the speed of the oven.

The home made and frozen chips cooked well in the basket, but I had to keep an eye on as some edges started to brown a little. The basket is my biggest bugbear. I found it to be a little uncooperative when sliding it in and out, but like anything new I’m sure I will get used to it.

Unlike my pressure cooker which I just turn on and forget about, the air fryer is not a ‘set and forget’ appliance. You do need to check on the food regularly. Although, being able to open the door during cooking times without interrupting settings is a redeeming feature.

Frozen pies, and sausage rolls came out well. I am looking forward to cooking a batch of beef jerky soon.

As I am by myself for 3 weeks of the month the air fryer has been great for fast frozen vegetables and fish for one. For a large family though you would have to work in batches due to size restraints. The air fryer is sleek in design and is easy to clean, especially because you can detach the door to get at all those crumbs.

I will keep trying it out with some recipes I have found, like chocolate lava cake and cookies. However, for beef or lamb roasts I will be sticking with my pressure cooker.

A Versatile Addition to a Productive Kitchen – What’s the most fun you can have in lock-down? An air-fryer. Everyone wants one these days. generations’ homes. I wondered at first whether it would satisfy the hipsters.

Design-wise, the Sunbeam Multi Function Oven + Air Fryer BT7200 is modern in a mid-century kind of way with its rounded corners and sleek rectangular shape. It is not heavy, quite easy to pick up and move. Controls are intuitive and simple to figure it out even without any reference to the slender volume of instructions. (In the trouble-shooting section, the reference to the Cleaning instructions are ‘Page 9’ but in fact it is Page 7.) The list of possible trouble -shooting issues is quite short – which is most likely a good thing. Read the ‘Usage Instructions’ on pages 5 & 6 and you’ll be able to adapt times and temperatures mentioned in any recipes, using Google to broaden the scope of cuisine you can master.

Recipe book – the included 12 page instruction book was a little lacking in detail. For instance, it doesn’t clearly explain the addition of oil and seasoning (do it in a bowl). It also doesn’t detail how important it is to stick to the size limits of the food to be cooked (chicken won’t turn on the rotisserie if it is any bigger than 1.3 kg.). While these points may seem obvious to many, some people don’t know that. However, the leaflet is not the go-to recipe book – you need to go online for that one and the basic methods of cooking are explained there with some good ideas. I downloaded it to my desktop. But I found way more ideas just searching online for ideas.

Cautions in the leaflet include that if using the three racks, you need to check cooking progress and swap them moving the top one to the bottom. The air fryer works from the top and items on that upper rack burn easily. I made some sweet potato fries and lost the whole upper trayful by not taking that advice. Cakes will cook from the top and are soft on the base. The tumbler basket is compact, holding enough for 4 small servings , but don’t exceed the recommended weight. You can’t cook fish, for instance, at the same time as using the bingo tumbler so you would need to allow for cooking that separately. I am still working at the ‘crisp chip’ from hand-cut potatoes/ sweet potatoes but nothing gets crisp first go. My sweet potato crisps went soft five minutes after they came out of the air-fryer even after two cooking cycles. (see pic below) Cooking the frozen French fries or string fries does not appeal to our household thought I know that could be the secret of how to get the crispest chips.

What I did master was to make a batch of 2-bite cupcakes: (see pic below) I made some in small round silicone moulds and another small batch in a friand bar-style silicone tray. The round ones went to plan. The cake texture was fine. The friands were more like a little steamed pudding at the base but crispy on top. I removed them from the moulds flipped them upside down and gave them another 5 minutes and they were great. A gluten-free almond-flour based batter worked out amazingly well (I made small batches each of flourless choc and orange) and the air-fryer kept the centre quite moist.) As well, you can make those small quantities fast without heating up the whole kitchen – that makes the air-fryer more environmentally advantageous. I would rate cake as a success.

Warming up pre-cooked food is also a success. In a small but busy household, it makes sense to cook meals in bulk occasionally and spread them over the week. You can, for instance, cook a massive roast dinner, (night one - conventional oven) and warm and crisp it up, veggies and all, in the Sunbeam Multi Function Oven + Air Fryer BT7200 for a few nights. Using the mesh trays gives the best result, juicy and delicious. Chicken is particularly good this way with crispy skin, and the veggies are just as good as if freshly roasted. .

As far as cleaning goes, the Sunbeam Multi Function Oven + Air Fryer BT7200 is simple to clean with quite a few parts that are easily washed in hot water - you need to be sure to do this after every use to avoid cross-flavourings. Empty the drip tray after every use and wash it. Don’t put it in the dishwasher.

The fan is quite loud but that is to be expected in a small appliance with so little room for sound insulation.

It is equally able to cook as a small rotisserie, the rotating basket or on the three provided racks. I have not yet used the fruit drying function and think it would be awesome to make my own dehydrated berries for ‘raspberry powder’ which is something hard to buy here. A money saver project to take on in summer when raspberries are in season! Be aware of the long drying time though and put the unit somewhere insulated so that the noise doesn’t drive you nuts! Herb drying also would be a fun project.

Ultimately, this is not an oven that will cook your entire meal as the capacity is quite small. But in a kitchen that has no oven, a small one or for people who like to snack, it is a handy addition to your suite of appliances. For students or young adults in their first living away from home experience, the Sunbeam Multi Function Oven + Air Fryer BT7200 with its healthy way of cooking with small amounts of oil or none, could be a life changing experience. Parents take note! Good moving out of home gift. With its few moving parts, it is a lot of fun to play with and I am looking forward to finding more and more meals to cook with it!

Love hate relationship with this Airfryer! – I wish i could give it 5 stars, but sadly just cannot! No matter how many times i try and cook chips they never turn out right. meant to be in the spot you are trying to place it. Chicken nuggets become hard as rock on the outside and not 100% done on the inside and this is from following the manual instructions. Dehydrating feature is absolutely horrible and even when following the manual, the fruit never turns out how it's meant to. The list could go on and on unfortunately. The only thing that seems to cook well is spring rolls and frozen pies.

Their response? Well to start with they said I had a pressure cooker that had no water in it hence the error. When I responded reiterating that I said it was an air fryer oven and that you don't put water in an oven, then they said oh right, just take it back to the store then. I again pointed out that I didn't live near the store, I was 1500kms away. The emails continued, to the point where I just gave up in utter frustration and threw the air fryer oven in the bin. Won't buy Sunbeam again. The appliance works great, until it doesn't work at all.

Best appliance in my kitchen! – I'd heard and seen a lot about the huge range of things you can cook in an air fryer and was really curious to try it out for myself - the 4 in 1 did not disappoint!! are cooked to perfection in the rotating basket, which prevents them from cooking unevenly. No more burnt corners! The manual was very well written and explains how and when to use the shelves and basket, depending on what you are making. It can be a little tricky to use the fork to get the basket in and out its slot, but after a bit of training I can say I've mastered it. My only concern is that opening the basket while hot was not an easy thing. Not sure how that could be improved though. Same thing as before, you get better after using it a few times. All in all, I'm very happy with the product and highly recommend it.

which I think is a great feature for impatient people like myself! The dehydrator has been an interesting one, as I've had to experiment with timings and temperatures for citrus, which seem to take much longer than other fruits - at least for cocktail garnish purposes. All round, a great product with several more functions for me to explore.

I used the ‘dehydrator’ setting on a range of fruit (including, strawberries, mango and pineapple). This was a great snack to make during lockdown while working from home, as I could just chop up some fruit, and put it in the machine for 4+ hours (depending on the fruit). I also made both normal and sweet potato fries in the basket - they were delicious! I love being able to have nice, crunchy chips at home that are low in salt and oil (these chips only require 1 tablespoon of oil).

This seems like a good addition! – I can see we bought this 21 September 2021! You can ignore my bla bla bla below. Today 25th November 2023 I think of this gadget almost as indispensable as my mobile phone! We practically use it every day! And we have not had a spot of trouble with it. We find it simple enough to operate and we love its concept of shelves rather than bucket (our… Read more ·  1

daughter has one with the bucket, it's ok but we feel ours is more flexible to distribute food for better result.) We seldom use our oven now. We're not using for fancy cooking but ordinary warming, roasting etc. is so simple with it. So often I'll put some pastry in it that is nicer when warm and turn it on, usually by the time it reaches the 200 deg. it's almost enough, else I'll add a couple of minutes...Et voila! Could not be happier about it! So I updated my rating accordingly.

BELOW IS THE INTIAL REVIEW

We received ours about a week ago. My first lot of chips was interrupted with a neighbour's medical emergency so it was not very good, but our second attempt was quite ok. (I'am a sucker for deep fried chips so probably won't ever say it's just as good!) But it was so easy to make with frozen chips (the first attempt was with fresh potatoes.) And the cleaning is way easier than with utensils full of oil! Our doctor would also give us an extra mark for keeping away from all that oil! We used it again with the rotating basket. It take a little know how but we both, my wife and I, managed ok, remembering to let the 'tumbler' cool a tad before opening it... 200 deg. C is very hot! We also finished a roast pork with veges and it turned out quite nice and crispy I heated up a croissant... I'm not too sure if it was worth the wait? (In the oven I put it for 6 minutes at 160 deg. , forced fan and it's ok when the bell rings.) Today, with the A F, I tried 170deg for 4 minutes....But the preheating seemed to take ages to get up there and then I forgot that you have to start manually that cooking once the preheating setting has been reached. Eventually "the penny dropped"! It was very good but I'd say longer than my oven's 6 mins.! I/ we were not too impressed with the instruction leaflet. There is very little in there, one also can go on the Sunbeam website where there are also more recipes. (But the .pdf manual is the same) . Perhaps it's just me, but I had trouble to open the door, it dragged the whole machine pulling the handle, eventually I worked out that you only need to counter balance the pulling power with your thumb on the appliances body to easily open the door. So maybe it would have been worth mentioning it in the manual. Now thinking of that door I seem to have seen such appliances that have instead of a door a large square kind of saucepan that slides in that compartment like a drawer and acts as a door. I imagine it would be quite handy too to use it for baking and whatever else. So I wonder if such attachment would be available to use once you remove the door? (which is very easy to do and replace as well) Would we have spent $300 to get one ?? I guess the answer will be more significant after we use it a little more. (This is a try -and- keep offer from the company) Cooking time is supposed to be shorter than in a conventional gas oven but I need to be convinced about it yet... I've read and heard in YouTube about people who say that they don't preheat or believe about the need to do it. However it seems with this machine you do not have a choice. I must admit it is very enjoyable to have one, and this one is compact and lovely, although it was a little challenge to find it a permanent home in our modest kitchen. But somehow we did and it's not too much on our way. I could not say too much more about it as it was never a priority for us to have one but we were curious after some of our friends used one occasionally. Were we offered a reward to submit a review....? We did and 'it' is the reward but it is definitely not intended to influence us in our evaluation. In the contrary it was the purpose of this offer to ask for an unbiased review. Now, I mentioned my problem with the door above but this am doing "Croissant N2" I could not start the pre heating no matter of what I entered....It turned out the door was not fully (firmly) pushed in but no warning about it. (However the total time was quicker today having set 155 deg. C and 3 minutes...) As for the instructions, I feel we could know a lot more about the cooking differences of the 4 in 1 choices and why one is frying, air frying or baking. I could not see anything about changing the heat and time set whilst cooking Curious I also timed the preheating session. The ambient temperature was 24 d Celsius and after 30 sec. got 55d. After60 sec > 85 d, 130 sec > 130 d, 120 sec > 175 d and reached the max 200 d at 2:20. I thought it to be pretty good. I only gave 3 stars because I have to learn a lot more to appreciate one way or the other its capabilities and usefulness. Realistically, it does depend on each personal situation and feelings yet if you don't try you'll never know.

This one looked different than any other as it has the doors and small shelves and a turning basket. It’s pretty easy to clean and detachable doors are awesome. I like to keep my appliances really clean so it’s a game changer.… Read more

Heats up pretty quick and it’s not as noisy as I thought it could be. Not heave which makes it easy for me to hide it and move it around. I do have an issue with a turning basket- it doesn’t really turn every time. Putting it in can be quite challenging. Those small shelves could be a bit bigger as they don’t stay in place- they collapse easily so that could definitely be improved. Other than that it’s really great. So far I made a delicious beef jerky, baked some brownies, dehydrated fruits and fried the chicken.

Fantastic – With other Airfryer you can only do a small amount with this one you actually have three wire shelves so you can cook so much more food and the basket for the chips it turns it self you need to do nothing Show details

Air Fryer almost replaces wall oven – Sunbeam Air Fryer is great for two people. I have tried all the functions and have had first time succes with each one. It is quick to heat up and the cooking time is shorter. The meat stays so moist and cooks perfectly. Added bonus is that the door is removable so any crumbs can be easily cleaned out.

The Sunbeam 4 in 1 Air Fryer has exceeding my expectation – Being of Italian descent, I cook a meal every day and bake biscuits regularly. We all enjoy what we call "fried doughnuts" and chicken schnitzel. All the kids in the extended family order 'fried doughnuts" regularly but I was becoming concerned about the amount of olive oil I was using. Wondered whether the air fryer would come to the rescue. It… Read more

certainly did. Instead of one liter of expensive olive oil, I now use about half a cup. Very easy! No mess at all. Just brush the biscuits with oil and in ten minutes the biscuits are ready. The little kids have them as a snack as they have very little sugar and now very little oil.

I do the same with chicken schnitzel, roasted vegetables, meatballs and steaks. Potato chips are also very easy to make - cut them, toss them in a little olive oil, put them in the rotisserie (round cylinder provided) and you have the best, healthy chips in 20 minutes. Rotisserie whole chicken is also very moist on the inside and crunchy skin on the outside.

The air fryer is extremely easy to use. It has preset functions which you can adjust according to taste or amount of food you use. I love being able to open the door, check the food as many time as I like and shut the door to continue the cooking process if needed. Very quickly you will learn how much time you need to leave the food in the fryer and set it accordingly. For example, I learned that it's best to air fry the schnitzel for 8 minutes at 180 degrees and then increase the temperature to 200 for the last two minutes. Perfect!

The fryer remains cool on the outside and you don't need to fret that some young kids may touch it. The trays are extremely easy to clean. Put them in the dishwasher or wash them by hand. Often, I leave them to soak overnight and just rinse them in the morning. The detachable door makes cleaning of the oven a breeze.

I have had the fryer for less than a month. I continue to experiment with it and I am relieved that I can do most of my frying with it. Highly recommend it.

However, be aware that if you want to cook a lot of food, you need to stage the cooking process. For example you can't roast a chicken and have vegetables cooking at the same time.

Quick and Convenient – Honestly it's been awesome so far. Heats up super fast and really convenient. Can reheat pizza and make it crispy rather than soggy like a microwave would. Makes nice crispy fries, does popcorn too. Show details

Don’t bother! – I was very excited to buy this product as it’s got the rotisserie and chip rotisserie basket that set it apart from many others for me. However fitting either the rotisserie or chip basket is very awkward and dangerous trying to get into or out of place when oven hot. I’ve tried fresh cut potatoe chips following guide and ended up with a dry… Read more

crisp tasteless inedible basket of chips.. also tried cooking apple turnovers and sausages.. oven temps in guide book far too high and for too long.. you really need to play with time/temp. Rotisserie whole chicken.. again difficult to set into air fryer.. overall very disappointed and waste of money

Extremely versatile – Using this far more frequently than I would have imagined. If it fits in the air fryer, i am using it. as it heats up /cook quicker, easy to clean (love the removable door) and the kids have mastered it. I've used the basket (awesome chips), trays (meat, pastries) and rotisserie stick. Yesterday it was homemade sausage rolls, today it is corn on the cob!  Show details ·  1
