Not bad and resonably priced – The first few times I used this machine I experimented with coffee/water amounts but to get the strength I like I found myself using at least twice as much coffee as I do in my espresso machine. I eventually realized that more coffee was not translating into a stronger brew so I cut back a bit and added boiling water out of the kettle, rather than… Read more

cold. I found this made the brew a little faster and stronger. All in all it produces a reasonable coffee, but I find I have to warm up my milk in the microwave a bit so that I can get a hot cup.

Not hot enough – The filter handle broke off the second time we used it, didn't bother returning it as it looks like a design fault and doesn't really affect use. It makes nice coffee, is easy to clean But....the coffee is lukewarm. And I mean lukewarm - it needs 30 seconds in the microwave (partners's taste) 35 seconds in the microwave (my taste.) Why can't… Read more

manufacturers make a drip percolator that makes and keeps coffee hot!!! Good coffee flavour, inexpensive. Hotplate inefficient.

Easy to use, unreliable at best – Bought this machine just before Christmas. Easy to use and program, easy to pour the water in, I was really happy with my purchase. After 6 brews it stopped working. No problem, replaced under warranty. The second one stopped working after less than 20 brews. Can't recommend it. I will be asking for a refund. Ease of use Unreliable

Good drip coffee maker – This coffee maker is really simple to operate, use and clean. It has got a LCD 24 hour clock which allows the user to program the machine and avoid waiting for the coffee in the morning. This feature allow for those who like to be organized and prepare things ahead but I have not had the need to use this feature as the machine brews the coffee… Read more ·  1

really quickly. Once you've poured the right amount of water for how much coffee you want to make, place the coffee powder inside the filter and turn the on button, the coffee is ready in 2 or 3 minutes. Another reason why I prefer to set up the machine just before brewing my coffee is that I've found the coffee does not turn out to be steaming hot every time, sometimes it is just warm so I've found useful to run some water before brewing the coffee to allow the machine to heat it up enough to make the coffee as hot as I like.

I've had two expresso coffee makers before and this is the first drip coffee maker I've owned and it has been a whole new experience to me. I'm Brazilian and I'm used to have black coffee most of time, I do love a cappuccino some times and I've got a milk frother when I want one, but most of the time I enjoy a nice cup of full bodied black coffee and I must say, the drip coffee maker makes a much nicer tasting black coffee than the expresso machines I've had because it is not as strong and you also can control the strength by adding more or less coffee powder to the filter. Also, the drip coffee maker allows you to make up to 12 cups at once and the thermostatically controlled warming plate keeps it hot for a couple of hours, then turns itself off. For me, I've found it useful when I have visitors and I need to make coffee for 5 or 6 people as I do not need to prepare the machine for 2 cups of coffee at a time as I used to with the expresso type of machine.

Another differences from a drip coffee maker to the "budget" expresso coffee makers I've owned is that I do not need to clean the dripping tray where we sit the cups and you just add enough water to make as much coffee as you want as the coffee machine will run all the water poured inside the reservoir through the machine. If you want to make 2, 4, 6... cups of coffee, you have to add water up to the mark on the side of the reservoir to indicate how many cups you are making and your coffee will be as strong or as mild as you like according to the amount of coffee used. The machine has got a Variable brew strength turn button on the of the lid which allows you to select the strength of the brew from mild to strong, I personally keep it on strong but I do not really think that button can adjust the brew strength. I also believe that feature is not needed as is much easier and economical to control the strength of the brew by adding more or less coffee powder inside the filter. Fast brew, very simple to use, easy to clean and inexpensive As others complained, I also found out that the lid can be quite annoying to close down some times. To get hot coffee I need to run a few cups of water through the machine before brewing the coffee to heat it up. For these two reasons I do not give a 5 star rating.

Fantastic Product – Really happy with this purchase, Easy to use and set. Amazing to wake up to the smell of freshly brewed coffee in the morning. I dont have issues with the jug leaking like with some other brands. Very affordable for what you get. Easy to clean and produces great tasting coffee. Reliable and easy to use

Good cheap drip coffee maker – We purchased this coffee maker to replace a 7 year old Sunbeam coffee maker. It is simple to use, does what it claims, and is inexpensive to purchase. Attractive, inexpensive, makes good coffee The coffee basket is difficult to get straight and if it is not straight the top won't go down. The brew strength adjustment doesn't work and isn't needed.

Terrible – The only reason we persisted with this model is that the second machine was replaced under warranty. Considering that the heater or thermostat failed in 2 machines, I would also come to the same conclusion about the PC3600 (no electronics). NOT RECOMMENDED. This coffee maker does a good job with a 12 cup capacity and a easily handled carafe, but… Read more

the carafe will drip when poured unless handled carefully. The dark brown plastic makes a good contrast around the water level window. The undocumented turn-off feature is particularly useful to ensure the machine is not left turned on for long periods, producing stale coffee.

The design is good, with the water delivery built into the lid and light enough to rinse the lid under the tap occasionally. - the 'brew strength' adjustment on the lid is a stupid idea and waste of plastic. If you want a weaker brew, use less coffee! It also makes the plastic filter fit in only one way - wrong way around and the lid won't close! If this happens, the outlet valve at the bottom does not open and you end up with coffee on your bench top instead of in the carafe.

- The thermostat is not set at a high enough temperature, and coffee poured into a cold cup will cool down too quickly.

- brewing produces spurts of hot water into the coffee filter, splashing coffee grounds on the underside of the lid, necessitating regular cleaning.

- UNRELIABLE! We have had 3 machines in 3 years - the first lasted about 15 months (electronics), the second 9 months (heater or thermostat) (replaced under warranty) and the last - one year and one day (heater or thermostat). We brew an average of just over one pot per day.

Terrible – My experience is that this is highly unreliable. I would expect to be able to get more than the approximately 60 brews that I have obtained from a coffee machine. It looks good. It failed after less than 2 months use!
