Taking a bit to get used to and I don't think I have my ratio just right with this machine but it was good in a pinch after my old trusty coffee maker of 10 years died and I just didn't have the money for a new fancy one. Show details

I purchased this about a month ago to replace a pod machine for the 3 coffee lovers at our house. I was looking for something a lot less wasteful,… Read more
and less expensive that could still deliver good coffee. This hits the mark perfectly. I make a litre of coffee using the pour over feature every morning, and everyone helps themselves whenever they're ready - the coffee stays hot for 40 minutes - plenty of time to come backfor seconds. Anything left gets saved in the fridge for the cold coffee aficionado to sip after work. I buy beans in 1kg bags from the supermarket and grind just enough for a pot each morning. Everyone is happy with the taste - preferred to the espresso pods we were using. Easy to clean and maintain, filter paper and grounds go to green waste rather than adding to landfill, and I'm spending less than a quarter of what I did with pods.
Technivorm Moccamaster Classic KB741AO
One key reason it's better than Breville Precision Brewer – I got this to replace a Breville Precision Brewer largely because the Breville is impossible to clean inside the cavities of the lid of the carafe… Read more
and it gets disgusting and mouldy in there.(How is this ok?) The Moccamaster is a much simpler machine, no timer, no settings, just two switches: on or off, and a high and low keep warm switch. There are no hidden cavities, it's easy to clean. For that reason alone I'd choose it every time. But it also has a classic design and looks a lot better to my eyes than the Breville. It makes just as good coffee. I was a little surprised how light weight the plastic parts were, but I've never worried about breaking them. My one small complaint is that I wish the keep warm 'low' setting was even lower, as the coffee seems to overheat and affect the taste if left for too long. Also shout out to friendly guys at moccamasteranz.com who replaced a rubber foot for free when it was my fault that I lost one.
Sunbeam Stainless Drip Filter PC7900
Broke down three times, TWICE WITHIN (12 months) WARRANTY period and was replaced by reseller but third time it was JUST (13 months) outside warranty. I will NEVER buy anything made by Sunbeam. Yet, when it worked - it was ok. Show details

Used once a day inthe morning making 8 cups for 2 adults. These machines are not cheap to buy and last 1 year. A sad reflection for a normal kitchen appliance. Typical chineese sub standard junk. What once was is no more and never will be Show details

with it that people should be aware of before purchase. 1. The spout of the Glass Pot is poorly designed, and if you tip too far beyond level, coffee spills from the spout all over the bench. 2. The machine turns off after 30 minutes after Brewing. You should have the option to adjust to a longer time. 3. It can be challenging to replace the Pot onto the heating plate after pouring a cup. Overall the machine's design and operation do not warrant the price. Cannot recommend this particular model.

built-in grinder. So excited to use it with my newly bought coffee beans. To my disappointment the so-called manual is mere illustration. And then I could not even open the lid of the carafe or it really isn’t meant to be opened? How can you clean it then? Anyway i went online and found a manual i can’t hardly make out. My mistake was i should have opened it in December then i could have returned it. I am too old to be stressed like this. I should have read the review before i bought this $300 worth of coffee machine i can’t even use. I thought Philips is good, but from the reviews doesn’t seem so, one has the grinder not working anymore only after a few months she bought it. Thing is it’s not that easy to ring them up and have someone patiently assist you and understand you. I am so disappointed. Will Philips take it back since it’s still under warranty. I haven’t used it. U can see it’s new even the box since i just opened it.i ordered it from Myers online, i took a screenshot.
