Sunbeam Belgian Waffle Maker

The 'stars' are for the waffles, not the machine and there is possibly some worthwhile news here – Yes, the handle-design etc was flawed. Sunbeam know it because something which makes the best waffles is no long sold. Sunbeam (ASX:GUD) should have given every owner a refund. I now buy Breville products when I can. But, I have just discovered that you do not have to give it the 180 degree turn. Just fill it up and leave it. I open… Read more
it with a knife (having turned off the power) and close it using an oven-mitt.
I also find if you give the waffle 2-3 minutes on setting 2 and then turn it right up to 5-6 for the rest of the 5 minutes or so: the inside gets cooked a lovely texture and then the outside crisps up. (I read this beforehand somewhere else, I think.)
Excellent – Makes the best and most professional waffles that come out thick and fluffy. Followed Sunbeams recipe booklet that came with the Waffle Maker and it was a great success. After buying this, I no longer eat waffles at cafes and have stopped buying commercial supermarket waffles! This is the best!! The quality of the waffles are superior and are "Cafe… Read more
Standard"!! Takes some practice to pour the batter evenly so it won't ooze out of the maker if too much is poured in one area.
Excellent – This is an amazing waffle maker. I bought this about half a year ago and have had no issues/problems with it. The waffles are really thick and fluffy, and you can change the temperature from 1-6, depending on whether you like a softer or crisper waffle. The recipes that come with the waffle maker are easy to follow and work every time, although… Read more
I've tried other recipes and they have worked really well too. The waffles can also be frozen and reheated.
Just make sure you turn the waffle maker while the waffles are cooking, otherwise one side will look perfect while the other side looks terrible (but if you forget, just turn the waffles good-side-up before serving).
This maker makes incredible waffles that are great for a breakfast or dessert. (Or any other meal, since there are savoury waffle recipes too). Always makes great waffles, and the recipes are amazing

Yum! easy to make and use - recipes easy to follow. delicious for any time of day - especially breakfast and dessert. Easy to use, great recipe, quick and tasty. The handle and casing fell apart :(. It was dangerous to use and difficult to repair yourself. I got a… Read more · 1
refund but unfortunately they seem to be out of stock - so have to do without one at present. I will definitely buy a replacement.
Makes fantastic waffles, but the design is flawed and the waffle maker literally falls apart – First waffle maker broke in the first week, The Good Guys happily gave me a replacement machine. Second one broke just out of warranty. The handle snaps off and the stainless casing comes apart making it too dangerous to use. Hubby tried to fix for me because it makes the most beautiful waffles and now I can't make them anymore. Very disappointed.… Read more
I could buy another one but I know it will just fail again and so I have paid for a product that is not made to last. Left message with Sunbeam and promised to contact me but never did. Makes the MOST beautiful fluffy waffles you could ever taste. Waffle maker falls to bits with very limited amount of use.
Terrible – We have just returned our second waffle maker within 10 months. Near the handle the plastic cracked (both times) making it unusable. We have returned and got store credit - will not buy it again. We have been happy with previous sunbeam products (kettle and blender), but the waffle maker has been an inferior product for us. Quality of waffles … Read more
