Leaks!!!

This is the 2nd one ive had, i thought the first one leaking was just a one off fault, but the 2nd ones leaking from the clear display too after not even 18 months. Not a cheap kettle so very dissapppointing! Clearly a design fault! I have now contacted customer service and they declined a repalcement or refund even though other people on here have had the same issue out of warranty and they assisted! Mine is only 3 months out of warranty and they dont want to know about it. I could not recommend this product or sunbeam customer service any less! Now to the accc Show details

Broken lid

Paid over $200 for this product and the lid became faulty after 14 months, i.e. would not open when the button was pushed. Eventually the hinge on the lid broke and the kettle is now useless. . Show details

Leaking Window

This is our 3rd Sunbeam series kettle…same thing has happened 3 times…side windows split and water leaks when you fill part it, pooling water underneath!!! Nearly didn’t pay for another one when we bought this one…definitely will not be making the same mistake a 4th time ! A $20 supermarket has outlasted it!  Show details

Works as expected, no issues for years

Works as it expected, I like the fact that it tells you the temperature of the water and an estimation of how long it will take to boil. I've had mine for years, no issues. Pretty quiet but not silent. Show reply

3 dead kettles

Looks great, and complements the other Sunbeam Cafe Series white goods I have in my home, however...
The original unit which I purchased in 2018 started acting strangely whilst boiling water, then died completely, so it was replaced under warranty in 2019.
The replacement worked well for about 3 months then started doing the same thing, so it was replaced in 2019.
The exact same thing has now happened to this unit, plus the lid now won't open.

I've reached out to Sunbeam customer service to ask for a escalation, but after waiting on hold for 45 minutes, hung up.

The product quality is not good, which is a real shame because their blender, 4 slice toast, and coffee machine are excellent. Show details

Very Poor Quality

We have had this kettle for about 15 months.
The lid began to stick about 6 months ago, and finally this week it completely broke.
At about $129, it is by far the most expensive kettle, and also the worst quality we have ever owned.
We now use a saucepan lid over the top to make our tea. Show details

Three times unlucky!

This is a great kettle.....when it works. Very quiet and love the variety of temperatures. Unfortunately we have had three and the first two failed after exactly 13 months and the third died today after just fifteen months. Lid snapped off

Good kettle, when It worked. Most of the time it kept beeping and contiounsly boiled. I'm just so lucky I wasn't scaulded. Should be recalled. $150 is a lot to pay for a kettle. Show details

Extremely disappointed Never again

Extremely disappointed with this product . Only had for 2 years and the first one was swapped as the lid was faulty . 2nd one now the thermostat has gone and keeps beeping when trying to boil
. I think I will take my consumer law option as this kettle for $150 should last longer then it has . A Kmart $7 kettle would be a better option . Disgraceful

Failed sensor

Sprung a leak at 18 months

Worked great up until the 18month mark. Kettle has sprung a leak from the side window and now water pools underneath the body, near the element. I liked the feel and features of the cafe series and am disappointed that the kettle didn’t last the distance. I expected better from Sunbeam, especially at this price point. Show details

Lid is unsafe

My son purchased the variable temperature unit for us as a spare as the original non-variable unit was starting to have problems with the lid attachment - it only recently became unusable. The new variable temperature unit my son bought us was only taken out of the box a month ago (from storage for about 2 years) and the plastic lid attachment unit was faulty and after a month has now completely broken down and is unsafe to use. Definitely not worth the purchase price and extremely unsafe. Show details

Hi there, is it possible for a Sunbeam representative to provide some reassurance whether this kettle has been rectified from its lid melting and breaking issues.

I am very keen on its features but am quite put off by the negative reviews, can anyone shower some light on this strange issue that seems to keep rolling over year after year.

One would think it would be sorted out after the first faulty batches

Yep mine broke same as yours plastic hinge has separated after it became sticky to open ,pretty crappy sunbeam cannot replace or supply a replacement part and what does age have to do with it ????
