Sunbeam Easy Clean Drip Filter Coffee Machine PC7800 Questions & Answers
VerifiedMPNs: 394843 and PC7800Same issues as many. Machine beeps when I hit brew now instead of brewing. Sunbeam, can you please let me know what is happening?
I am having a problem that through this forum I see is quite consistent, and Sunbeam has sent "private messages" in order to remedy it rather than just post in the forum so we can all benefit.
When I got to turn on the machine it beeps and indicates that the coffee is finished brewing, but it has not brewed at all. I have turned the machine off and on, and left it unplugged for minimum 10 minutes before trying again. Does anyone know how to fix this issue? My office is looking to me for caffeination and I do not want to let them down!
Hi All, I have been using the PC7800 drip filter coffee machine now for 4 months. No hassles, clean and descale frequently. But today I filled the machine with water and with filter and coffee but it beeps immediately when I press the Brew Now button as if it has finished making the brew. How do I fix this or is the machine defective? Regards
P B. · just now Hi I’m having the same issue. Couldn’t figure out why there was so much residue. Had the machine a few months, hardly any use (I think I’ve used it maybe 10 times at most). The “reusable filter” has torn around the base where it joins the plastic. Probably been that way since I got it. Where can I get a replacement?
Hi Guy's need help, My PC7800 coffee machine bought it 2 weeks ago all good, now when i turn on brew now you can hear a click about 10 seconds later like a switch clicked off then it beeps as though it's finished brewing but as not brewed anything. Cheers
My coffee maker won't turn on , is plugged in and turned at wall. Water is reservoir. Is 2 years old and has always worked perfectly. Thanks Katharine
Hi Katharine, we're disappointed to learn your Sunbeam Drip Filter Coffee Machine won't turn on. Please give us a call at 1300 881 861 between 10am to 6pm - Monday - Friday AEST, our team will be glad to hear from you and help. Thanks.
I have only had this machine for a couple of months but today when I press brew now nothing happens. The light is on but the coffee isn't brewing. Is there anything I can do to fix this?
I've used mine most days for about 2 years and haven't had this problem. Is it on "brew later" mode? Obviously a power off/on would be worthwhile.
Nah definitely brew now. Turned it off at the wall for a while and back on but still no luck. Just got it replaced as it was deemed as a fault with the unit
Exactly the same thing has just happened to mine. Just going through the process now of getting a replacement
My brew now button worked the first time I used it but the second time, nothing is happening. I have water in the reservoir, the basket seems to be properly in place, as is the carafe, and the brew now button is illuminated. Please tell me what is most likely to be wrong. There's no troubleshooting guide in my warranty/manual. Thanks.
More or less the same question as Gas Pig - Where can you get affordable PC78003 water filters?
The shop link you posted on in response to Gas Pig is completely out of stock and not really affordable anyway. Surely there is somewhere that sells these.
I use the coffee maker most day but don't worry about the water filter. The Brisbane tap water is pretty good and the boiling water will kill any residual bugs. Speaking as a retired doc!
Purchased a few days ago and for some reason the spring and little black umbrella looking thing has come off and it’s not working. How can I get this fixed?
If it's so new, I'd get it back to the retailer for replacement. Otherwise contact Sunbeam. If you can be bothered with the usual palaver of getting directed to overseas call centres, Sunbeam seems to be pretty good at rectifying faults.
Why on God's earth are the water filters for the Sunbeam Coffee Maker PC7800 so EXPENSIVE? Breville have filters wayyyyyy cheaper. I would have thrown my Sunbeam coffee maker in the bin if it wasn't producing a good coffee! Can you refer me to an outlet that doesn't charge the earth?
Hi Gas Pig 59, If you go on the website I have attached they have some for $9.90 external link Thanks
THATS FANTASTIC!!! $9.90!!! WOW!! That’s CHEAP!! SAID NO ONE EVER!!! Guess what the postage is for a flimsy water filter??? $9.90 so total is $19.80!!!! Four months would be $79.20! The Coffee maker was purchased for $79. I understand that you need to make a profit. I also appreciate your trying to assist me. The Sunbeam coffee maker is now in the rubbish bin…Thank you again for the reply.
Same problem as another person below - why don't you post the answers here instead of saying you've sent a private message? Then I wouldn't have to ask again.
filled the machine with water and with filter and coffee but it beeps immediately when I press the Brew Now button as if it has finished making the brew. Do I need to reset or wait for it to brew again. What process do I need to do?
Hi Eve T, I have just sent you a private message if you could kindly respond via this please. Thanks
Does Sunbeam have these reusable coffee filters that I can purchase. I bought my machine a month or so ago and the mesh is torn away from the top.
Hi Sue, I have just sent you a private message if you could kindly respond via that please. Thanks
You said they would be sent but I'm still waiting. What size 'paper' filters fit this machine? where can we get them?
Hi Sue, So sorry for the delay they replacement filters aren't due in till the end of August as soon as they arrive they will be sent out to you. You can in the meantime purchase these attached from Coles external link & even Woolworths sells them to get you through in the meantime. Thanks
Thanks - I managed to get in touch with another person who has the same problem and she has found a replacement so I'll sourcing one from there. Please disregard sending us the filter.
I've had the same problem and told by sunbeam that they don't make replacement filters and I'm having a lot of trouble with finding paper ones to fit. How/where can I get a reusable one?
I ended up getting this from ebay external link

I had a look at the Sunbeam website and “suppliers” for parts but could not find a compatible Reusable Coffee Filter (with the mesh). You only have the cone shaped one. Does Sunbeam have these reusable coffee filters that are not cone shaped that I can purchase. I bought my machine last month and the mesh is torn away from the top.
Hi RoseH, I have just sent you a private message if you kindly respond via that please. Thanks
Hi All, I have been using the PC7800 drip filter coffee machine now foe 4 months. No hassles, clean and descale frequently. But today after 4 hours of usage or there about so wanted to make another brew. I filled the machine with water and with filter and coffee but it beeps immediately when I press the Brew Now button as if it has finished making the brew. Do I need to reset or wait for it to brew again. What process do I need to do? Or is the machine defective? Regards Izzy
Hi Israel C, I have just sent you a private message if you could kindly respond via that please. Thanks
Hi, I've also had this issue
I have this same issue. What was the outcome?
Is the keep warm function able to be used when you use "Brew Now"?
Hi ST, From the product manual it states 1. After filling the coffeemaker with water and grounds, press the Brew Now button to brew instantly. 2. Brew Now indicator will illuminate. 3. “Warmer On” will illuminate on the display to indicate warming plate is on. The warming plate will stay on for up to 4 hours. The coffeemaker will beep to signal the end of the brew cycle. NOTE: Push Brew Now button prior to 4 hours to turn the coffee maker off early.
Based on point 2 the warming plate will stay on for 4 hours. Hope this helps. Thanks Thanks
Thank you. I have now purchased this coffee machine and can't wait to receive it!
Hi ST, That is great to hear enjoy when you receive it. Thanks
We purchased a PC7800 drip filter coffee machine from Big W, Coffs Harbour Plaza Shops a week ago. We followed the user guide and consequently had 2 questions; (1) the coffee comes out just beyond luke warm and (2) the guide at page 9 advised to line the removable filter basket with a "reusable coffee filter". Is there a way we could get the unit to provide hotter coffee? Is it necessary to use separate reusable filters? Where can we purchase these filters and replacement water filtration cartridges?
Hi Peter, With Question (1)- Can you check the Brew Now & Brew Later icons to check this could be the reason behind the luke warm. Question (2) if you go on to our Sunbeam website & scroll down to the bottom of the page it will say Service Agents if you open that up it will give you a list of any in your area if you contact then them they will be able to help you about getting some reusable filters. external link Thanks.
The only way to get a hotter cup of coffee is to heat up your cup with the milk prelit added before you pour in the coffee..been using these along time
not prelit, sorry been looking for christmas trees today! NO, heat the cup in microwave with your sugar added into the milk make it as hot as possible around 1-1.5 mins. It totally does the trick! I dont use the water filter, havent even put it on, i use boiled water (cold). After I heat up the milk/cup I give it a stir for the sugar and sprinkle some cinnamon on top then pour in the fresh brew, its fabulous! I thought this machine would need paper filters but it doesnt! The reusable filter included even keeps the fine sediment out, it makes a good cup of coffee..as long as you put enough fresh grounds in of course!
My question concerns the internal filter PC78003 - the small bag-like filter inside the water compartment. Sunbeam say to replace this every month, but the charge is $20 every time. That's ridiculously expensive. What can I use instead of this item - or can I just throw it away?
Hi. I have also been trying to find out about this little filter. I email Sunbeam about a week ago to see if I can order one. So far I did not get an answer. If it cost $20 to replace it and we have to change the filter every month, then in that case it is not worth it. I just dont know what to do about it.
I don’t think Sunbeam will respond. I think I’ll just throw it away. Other drip coffee machines don’t have such a filter and no one stocks replacements where i live. Too hard.
I've just found out that if your normal tap water is fine to drink then you don't need to put the internal water filter into the coffee machine, as the internal filter is only to take the chlorine out of the water before drinking your coffee
thanks a lot, Marty. That's really good to know.
Response from Sunbeam June 2020 Thank you for contacting Sunbeam. The water filter reduces impurities like chlorine and calcium to make coffee taste better. We recommend replacing the filter cartridge frequently to ensure great tasting coffee The part is currently out of stock and it will become available by July. Kind Regards,

I useboiled water it's fine, not tap water!
Theoretically you don’t need a god damn filter people
It’s coffee and boiling water for heck sake
My issue is that the control panel isn’t functioning but the clock has powered on
Is there a troubleshoot document?
