12 and still going strong – We received this as a wedding gift 1n 2010. While this processor is only bought out for processing larger amounts due to it being a bigger unit, it gets used a bit less than our 38 year old lil oskar(which we use for small batch) It has worked brilliantly . We don't use it for mixing cake mixes,( we have a mixer for that) but it is brilliant for… Read more ·  1

shortcrust pastry. I also use it to chop green waste for my worm farm and mincing meat , onions and chopped nuts Only downside is that the blade after 12 years has started to crack around the plastic centre supports. I would love to be able to get a replacement blade. Note, it is probably too large for small batch mayo or béarnaise sauce (it's pretty obvious to see that)

I bought mine 17 years ago – This was the first adult appliance I bought after moving out of home. It has been with me for 17 years, through 3 states, 11 houses, 9 housemates, countless dinner parties and 1 breakup. She is a little age yellowing on the outside now, but to me, she still looks just as lovely as the day I bought her. Last night I dropped the lid and the… Read more ·  1

little tab on the lid, that turn the power on, broke... devastated!

I know this is a discontinued line but it saddens me to see so many scathing reviews about my beloved kitchen sidekick.

After reading others reviews I wonder how many people actually read the manual and ensure parts are locked in properly before use. The only time I have had issues such as it not chopping, food getting caught or stuck, or parts rattling is when I failed to put it together properly. Yes a little fiddly, but most food processors are, but so fun to create magic in the kitchen! I'd hate to think what some of you would make of my mistress, the multifunction stand mixer.

This food processor was always super easy to use, if a little fussy about how you put her parts together... but what girl isn't!

Then again - maybe this review is from the point of view of someone who has been in a relationship with her food processor longer than her husband.

Don't waste money on sunbeam – Although this was a gift several years ago, i have only used it maybe 20 times. Firstly the dial didn't work correctly. Had to give it a fiddle to get it to start. The plastic around the blade has cracked and now when crumbling biscuits, I can't turn it off. It's running at full speed and jumping around on the bench. Although it was a cheap food… Read more

processor, that is not the issue. I am sick and tired of Australia being a dumping ground for cheap Chinese junk. This processor is only going to end up in Australian landfill and I imagine will take years to decompose. what has happened to Sunbeam - used to be a reputable brand.

Doesn't do the job – Blade doesn't even fit properly, food sticks underneath. Understand why it has been discontinued. Problem is I have recently purchased mine second hand!! Certainly not recommended. Considering the price we pay should be top product. Have always purchases Sunbeam but may have to reconsider by brands. Very disappointed and I can't take it back now.  Show details

Has been a reliable work horse – We have had this processor for over 10 years. It is mid range model and has suited our needs well. The only issue we had was the stainless steel blade casing started to show fine hairline cracks early on but it was able to be kept clean and held together. Today the blade died, the plastic has crumbled. It has worked hard and we are considering a… Read more

replacement blade as the whole unit is still working excellently, though, every year now is a bonus considering its age and amount we have used it. If the new model is as reliable as this machine then it is a good investment. If you are wanting a machine to do heavy duty processing (ice, hard stuff) it might not pull enough punch long term but for regular use (nuts, batters, shredding veg, dips etc) it is great. Will be sad when it goes. And thanks Sunbeam for putting the packing instructions clearly on the back of the chassis, my family have no excuse to leave it for me to pack up after wash up!!!

Wouldnt turn off! – Food processor was given as a gift in 2009. Only really started using it in the last year. Months ago it was turned "off" with the lid off, and it turned itself "on". This week I was using it to make almond butter. Had it on a medium speed, left the room, and could hear it getting faster and faster without anyone touching it. From then on, it… Read more

stays "on" when I turn it to the "off" position, and only goes in high speed. Severely dangerous!! I have to turn it off at the switch. I am going shopping this weekend to replace it. Very disappointed.

Junk Junk Juny Only Used It Only Two Times In About Two Years It Is Junk More To Goes Out In The Rub – The plastic blade mount cracked the first time I used it. After continued (occassional) use it broke apart leaving pieces of plastic in my food. Not happy! Also, the slicing & grating blades are useless so I have given up completely on getting any sort of result using them - have gone back to good, old fashioned knives and graters. Using this… Read more

Most Disappointed!! – Having had it new in storage , never having had to use it, yesterday I needed breadcrumbs, (because of all the terrible wet weather lately, and not wanting to go out,) decided to make my own, got it out of the box, washed it, and after working out how to use it, I began making breadcrumbs from one loaf, worked fine, then decided to do the second… Read more

loaf of bread also, and it refused to work, after pulling it apart and re assembled the machine, I realised that there was a piece of plastic broken off from the processing cover, how did that happen?? I was about to throw the machine out, but decided to buy another cover and give it one more go, another $23, (including delivery), I am so disappointed with this machine, I now realise that it is a discontinued model, I can see why! It is rubbish!! 'Sunbeam' used to make great products, but the quality is no longer there. I will not be buying 'Sunbeam' again! When I purchased the machine, there were a lot of other chapter brands on the shelf, but I thought that I was buying a good quality product, I have been mislead!

Was a gift to daughter who has been overseas virtually ever since and processor remained unused – As for another reviewer machine operates as soon as the power is turned on and speed control knob and pulser do not have any effect. What is the issue here? I have it in pieces but all appears as it should be. Help!

Bad, bad, bad – Don't use my machine much, now I know why, too many parts to it. Went to turn it off after blending and switch won't work, now have to turn it off at wall, and blades are way too high, always wanted a food processor, now Im wondering why I did, could easily live without it!!!! Sunbeam has a good name so thought I'd be ok with this model.

Don't buy this item! – Sadly I have the same story as many other reviewers. The chopping blade sits too high in the processing bowl to work effectively. I've used the machine three times in two years (it was a christmas gift) and after the second use I notice the plastics around the blade assembly was starting to crack. I thought I was doing something wrong in my… Read more

operation of the unit, but after several readings of the instruction booklet I realised it wasn't my poor operation, rather it was cheap construction and poor materials. I doubt Sunbeam has done anything to fix the design problem or replace anyone's machine.

TERRIBLE – Same as all the others. On/off switch stopped working. Took to repairers, they said there was a big problem with this part. Replaced the machine and next one did exactly the same. It doesn't slice or grate all the food. It doesn't puree, leaves big chunks. Unless you have plenty of whatever you are processing in the bowl, it goes up the… Read more

side of the bowl and won't come down unless you scrape the bowl all the time. Replacement model gave up the ghost as well. Took it to get repaired, was told it would cost $25.00. Total Lie they charged us $85.00. The plastic on the blades has all cracked on 2 of them now and I have only used them on pureeing vegetables for soup, making breadcrumbs or cornflake crumbs. And I definitely haven't used it with hot things or washed in dishwasher as I don't have one.

I have been using Sunbeam products for 49 years and have now vowed I will never buy another Sunbeam product as the last three products have failed. That's what happens when you go to China to produce your products.

My Sunbeam mixer has only just given up and that's 49 years old. My other Sunbeam processor was the best ever. It still goes but you can't get replacement tools for it. Such a shame.

Didn't click any stars as this product is worth zero, just ready for the garbage bin. storage ideas were good but that's the only thing. Everything.

Appalling quality. Do not buy it – This looks like a food processor, and even sounds like a food processor, but is in fact a worthless lump of plastic with spinning sharp bits labouring under rampant food intolerances. The switch broke on mine, at Christmas, on the fourth use. Sunbeam replaced the unit under warranty, after I had to make a special trip to a Sunbeam deaIer. I ended… Read more

up with two bowls and two blades from the exchange, but the plastic on both blades has disintegrated under light use and careful washing. The switch on the second unit broke again, so that you cannot select power options. It was not so cheap that I would be prepared to accept this short product life. I need to stop breaking the earlier household ban on Sunbeam products.

Poor quality, obvious repeat manufacturing flaw.

Thumbs down – Big thumbs down to Sunbeam - when I contacted them re issues with this model - same issues as everyone else, which is it doesn't process properly, there response was they would "refer it to their research and development team" - as if they were unaware!!. Big thumbs up to Briscoes who without hesitation replaced this for me - with a breville:… Read more

manager was also going to refer their buyer to this site to investigate as when I demonstrated the issue to him (blade moving up spindle) he was horrified. Having it replaced Doesnt process, blade sits on top of food, last half inch of food doesn't get grated etc etc
