Sunbeam Aroma Coffee 12 PC3600

what a defective product – This worked 3 times and then just died. This is so typical of sunbeam products. I had the same experience with their kettles and rice cookers. I would strongly discourage anyone from buying Sunbeam products. They have an extraordinarily short lifespan. You will face a future of endless warranty applications, if you can be bothered with all that. . Show details
Cheap and reasonably decent Coffee maker – This works OK but its not about to win any coffee maker beauty contests. Its a very basic and simple machine. The strength meter thing is a bit of a novelty - I just leave it on full and adjust the coffee grinds amount myself. It works well enough and makes a reasonable brew Show details · 1
We have been unable to make a consistent coffee with this machine. Suggest dont buy it – We have been unable to make a consistent coffee with this machine. Strength of coffee is very variable; I think its to do with the "strength-o-dial" on the top of the machine - it must vary the speed that water is expressed through the coffee. Its easy to clean and does take a good lot of coffee but the inconsistency is a show stopper. Show details
Coffee delight – Very impressed with how this machine works and the end product is so amazing... I was quite surprised at the quality of taste and aroma of the coffee that is despensed. So easy to use and to keep clean my 12 year old daughter can use it with out a problem Show details
Doesn't last long – This machine is well designed from a functional perspective - it's easy to use, simple and compact. But it doesn't last long. The heating element seems to be a weakpoint and in my experience lasts only a few months with once a day usage. After the first one stopped working I actually got another one as I couldn't find any other easy-to-use simple drip coffee machines. This second one also stopped working after about three months. Ruined my bench top – The first just died. The second worked well for about a year. One morning I moved the coffee maker and noticed the bench top had bubbled up. The underneath of the machine was very hot. I have never seen anything like it before. I think the element over heated. There should be a thermal cutout switch.
Not recommended – We bought a Sunbeam 12 PC3600 on the 29th September 2014. The coffee maker was easy to use and made nice coffee. It stopped working im March 2015 (wouldn't make coffee anymore - I believe it was the element that had stopped working) and I asked for a replacement under warranty. I was sent a replacement in March 2015 and in July 2015 (only a few… Read more
months later) the switch that turns the coffee maker on and off fell off. It was switched on and it fell off so the coffee maker was then unusable. I did not ask for a replacement since I was so shocked by the button falling off. Why does this happen? Is it because these coffee makers have a poor design or are they just made very cheaply somewhere like China. I bought a Breville Coffee maker now and so far.. no problems. I'm not game to try Sunbeam again..first the element went in the first coffee maker then the on/off button fell off with the second coffee maker. We use our coffee makers about twice a day sometimes three times a day. Is it too much to ask that coffee makers be made to last at least a year? I wish that was the case. I did like the Sunbeam coffee maker but for safety's sake I would be too wary to buy another (it's the first time in my life I had an on/off button fall off and it could not be put back). I do have proof of purchase if anyone is interested and I'm only writing this to share my experience as coffee is an important part of my day and I like having a reliable coffee maker! (I do have a coffee plunger/French press for emergencies but an electric coffee maker is very convenient to have in the kitchen).
Keep a cleaning cloth handy – I have had my coffee maker for about two years and every time I pour myself a mug, I swear I'm going to buy a new machine, the coffee gets hot enough as long as you don't have milk in it, then you have to heat it in the microwave. My biggest problem is..every time a pour from the jug it drips all over my bench top, the pourer is really bad, so now I pour my coffee over the sink.
Russell Hobbs coffee drip machine, 12 Cup. Drips everywhere unless you hold open the lid.
Cold coffee mmmm – This is fine if you like your coffee cold. My father got one for his caravan and used it for 3 weekends over 6 months until it's element blew. My daughter bought one for my husband for Christmas, he used it about 5 times over the January holiday period then the element blew in February. They may be cheap, but they are cheap for a reason. Element… Read more
is rubbish and blows with very little use. If you do happen to buy one make sure you keep the receipt in a safe place, you are going to need it!

Multiple ways to get your preferred blend Simplicity to fill switch-on and clean afterwards and the sweet tastey aroma of my coffee swiftly done
Fast and simple – We use this machine every morning, and it's brilliant. All we want is good coffee, quickly with no fuss, and that's what we get. It works well, it's easy to clean, and it doesn't occupy much bench space. For the money, it's a real winner. Our only quibble is that like all drip coffee makers, it doesn't quite keep the coffee HOT - it's quite… Read more
warm, but that's not good enough, so we heat the coffee in the microwave. But that's just us... we like HOT coffee. Inexpensive, easy to use, reliable Like all drip coffee makers, it doesn't keep the coffee HOT, just warm.
