Warm as toast - love Winter!!! – Very comfortable and warm as toast. I love that it switches itself after 1 hour. Have had it now for 4 years and still works well. Very happy with this blanket. Show details
Another one that has failed - very disappointing – Loved this, so when our original died within a year or so, we got another one. One side stopped working within the next year and the other after approx. 2 years. Left it on the bed not working but have removed it today. Looking to replace...but not keen on spending that amount again on something that will not last. Very disappointing Sunbeam. I… Read more
will be researching a reliable brand this time. From reviews it is clear these were a lemon! (And foolishly I did not keep a receipt - so the three year warranty counts for nothing)
Absolute rubbish – A total waste of $200. Two of these have died on me in the last three years. The last one has died and Sunbeam simply told me to buy another one as the blanket has died. Welcome to the age of inferior manufacturing for premium prices. I will not be buying Sunbeam products from now on, and will advertise these findings to my friends and family.

WASTED MONEY- DO NOT BUY - one control stopped working – I have used this for ONE SEASON - ONLY- Brand New and the BL4755 Queen sized electric blanket's - one control ( my side- naturally) isn't working. It stopped last season and I spent the winter swapping the other control - from one side to the other. We do NOT have the receipt for this item- I cannot give an exact date purchased but I can tell you… Read more
it worked for ONE WINTER ONLY- What a sheer & utter waste of money. It will cost approx: $85 just to get another control ! We thought buying sunbeam would ensure the quality- It didn't and I am disgusted with this wasn't looked at from Sunbeam when they have obviously had a problem- there's a lot of people reading these reviews & Sunbeam ( IMHO ) would have been best to accept this is faulty and done something about it. I do have the original packaging- but not the receipt- nor can I give an exact date- but this worked for part of one winter only- and not used all night- used to heat the bed for an hour then turned off- Cannot imagine if someone used it every night of winter & all night. I don't feel the cold, so didn't use it until July / August. A few months to work is not OK - esp. when it's suppose to be a brand that we trusted! ( not anymore)

Don't swear by Sunbeam products again. Swear at them like I am doing! – My wife bought a Sunbeam queen size electric blanket BL4755 about two years ago. As with all such products one rarely thinks that they may end up not functioning. Consequently one does not tend to keep dockets, etc. My wife insisted on this brand telling me that her mother always had Sunbeam products and swore by them. At the moment I am SWEARING… Read more
at it. For the past two seasons her side functioned ok whereas my side always indicates a flashing E and does not heat up.

Unreliable Sunbeam Electric Blanket controls!! – My mum has old electric blankets that work perfectly after years of use & still used occasionally now. However in the last 10 years I have bought 2 Sunbeam queen size electric blankets with detachable controls. We had trouble with one control cord on each of the blankets not heating after a few months use. A new control replacement is not easily… Read more
available & anyway costs half the price of a new blanket ($70)!! I am greatly annoyed for the expense, unreliability & cost of Sunbeam electric blanket cords. I am now going to buy a Target queen size electric blanket on sale this week for $55. It has 3 heat settings & if it stops working after warranty period - then it will be cheaper to replace it! Why can't Sunbeam make a more reliable control cord for their electric blanket ? They worked perfectly on both blankets when new but were not reliable for long enough! So no more Sunbeam electric blankets for us & I wouldn't recommend them for this reason. Worked very well when first purchased. Control cords stopped working. Hard to get expensive replacement!
Don't waste your money! – Purchased approx 3 or 4 yrs ago - & just out of warranty one of the controllers goes kaput. Wish I'd purchased another brand for the amount of use I got out of this one!!! I live in Brisbane so it only was used lightly during our winters - think we got 3 or 4 winters use out of it all up. Ridiculous that for the price you pay you get the life… Read more
span quality of a cheap & nasty from the bargain shop.
Emailed Sunbeam - was referred to their list of service agents to purchase new controllers. Think I'll put the money towards a new DIFFERENT brand electric blanket rather than waste money on this piece of expensive rubbish. Very quick to warm up, loved the timer/boost features. May as well have paid for a cheap one at the bargain shop as this one had the same life span. Expected more than 3 or 4 winters use for the price paid.
Replacement controller is $64. Definitely recommend not purchasing this lemon.
Expensive and defective product design – My wife bought this product expecting it's reliability to be in line with it's expensive purchase price. She was wrong. This product is now in the bin after 4 controllers have failed, the last just out of warranty. The first 2 controllers were replaced under warranty, the second 2 failed just out of warranty. There is so obviously a design fault (… Read more
or planned obsolescence) with these controllers which are made in China. China still has to learn the lessons of product quality. Why would the manufacturers continue to manufacture a product which fails so often? Where is the manufacturers continuous quality feedback loop to detect and correct faulty design? Replacement controllers out of warranty cost more than the new complete blanket. My advice, run (do not walk) away from this brand and buy any other brand. It can not be any worse. Many others have had similar experiences - Check the internet. adequate performance when it is working. Unreliable. Flawed controller design. Expensive rubbish. Expensive spare parts. A waste of earths resources and land-fill.

Excellent – I love electric balnkets and absolutley can't sleep without one. But the normal ones have those cords and wires that dig in and you can feel and the fleecy top ones don't get as warm and are difficult to wash. But this quilted is brillant super comfortable and easy to wash. This is the best product I have ever bought!
Good – This is a great product. it provides quilting which means you no longer have those wires digging into you. I have had a fleecy top one before but they never felt clean and didn't provide the warmth this one does. great product.
Epilog to my previous review – Eventually, I returned the Sunbeam to Myer (who were very helpful) and bought an Onkaparinga electric blanket instead. Has similar features regarding in-bed temp control. Still hasn't failed after several years. Also, I found out that my suburb is well-known to experience voltage surges up to maybe 260V, which causes cheap light bulbs and… Read more
other stuff to fail. So maybe that contributed to the ongoing failure of Sunbeam controls. Anyway, the Onkaparinga control seems to be more resilient against this sort of thing.
Excellent – Excellent electric blanket. Paid $232 at Myer sale for this quilted and fitted electric blanket. Went to Kmart but it was sold out so we bought it from Myer. I wish we had this blanket years ago. Absolutely wonderful; it works very well and the quilt layer provides comfort and extra such that I don't feel the wiring underneath. The area at the end… Read more
for feet is slightly warmer than the rest, which is excellent. Best electric blanket we have bought to date. Since purchase I've been sleeping very well no matter how cold it gets at night. Timer ensures electric blanket turns off and avoids accident.
Replaced because faulty but the second one didn't work either – Bought the first blanket in May 2009. In September of 2010 it failed and had to be replaced. Did not use the replacement blanket until May 2011 when I found it was not working either. Plugged in the controls, the lights came on briefly then went out and that was the end of that. So have to take the replacement blanket back too but this time will… Read more
ask for a refund and get a blanket that is more reliable. When working it heated well and the quilting was comfortable Very unreliable, expensive

Excellent – Definitely the best electric blanket around. Have been sleeping on Sunbeam for nearly a decade now and absolutely love it! What ever happens to this one in the future......the next one will be a Sunbeam again. Absolutely fantastic! Never failed! We bought the BL4755 (queen size)in Autumn 2009, so we have finished two winters on it. We bought it at… Read more
Harvey Norman and paid $219.00. This quilted poly cotton version is much better than the fleecy one for which we then paid $400 plus and which one finally gave up on us after 7 years of happy warm beds in winter. This blanket has a 'skirt' and fits perfectly on a mattress with a pillow top. With the controls taken out in Summer it doubles as a mattress protector. The blanket can be machine washed and tumble dried, but you must take the electric controls out before washing!!!!
This blanket senses the changes in room and body temperature and adjusts to the selected heat setting and maintains this heat. The bed heats up within 10 minutes and automatically adjust the temperature. There are 9 heat settings, which are illuminated. You can set the heater to turn off after 1, 3 or 12 hours. The bottom, feet section, is more warm then the rest, just where you need it most. Too cozy to get out of bed in the morning!!!
Terrible – Purchased two of these blankets in 2009. The first one's connectors failed one after the other within 3 months. Returned under warranty. The replacement one's connectors failed after 6 months. Returned under warranty. Meanwhile the second one failed. Returned under warranty. And so on. In total, SEVEN returns for TWO blankets. The shop insisted… Read more
there had never been a return before, so I Googled "sunbeam electric blanket faults" and found that there is an epidemic. Insisted on a refund - better things to do with my time than spending hours driving back to shops to exchange faulty goods. Has put me off Sunbeam products for life. Quick heat-up function. Smooth quilting. Timer that turns blanket off if you forget. Extreme unreliability
OK – First one I bought broke after 4 weeks and returned under warranty. Second one seems to be fine (after 2 weeks). Having read other reviews it appears there is a common problem that it doesn't work....fingers crossed ours doesnt break down again.... 'Boost' setting. Multiple heat settings. Unreliable
Terrible – the controls are rubbish, and after $210.00 from myer will never buy this product again go for a brand you don't know, anything can work beter then this brand................. Don't buy this product the controls are rubbish the controls are rubbish
Terrible – I am over the sunbeam fitted electric blanket. After returning the first one after one winter because of the connector. I replaced 2 connectors during that winter. I was given another new one to replace it and now after 6 months the connector is playing up and not heating again. The fitted ones develop faulty connections on the actual blanket connection. Happened to me twice.
