Sunbeam Solar & Electrical
3 reviews
I was contacted by Sunbeam Solar in early March and offered a solar and battery system. A key selling point was that government rebates were expiring on 1 May, creating urgency to proceed. After accepting the quote, there was no meaningful follow-up. I was told I would be contacted urgently, but no one ever called. I made multiple attempts to reach the company; reception repeatedly promised callbacks that did not occur.
The technician who provided the quote responded occasionally and assured me the installation would be completed in time and that I would not miss the rebate.
One week before the rebate deadline, I received a generic email (not even addressed by name) stating they could not complete the installation. No phone call was made, and no alternative solutions or compensation were offered.
As a result, I lost the opportunity to access the rebate. Based on my experience, the sales representations were not matched by delivery, and communication was effectively non-existent.
I would not recommend this company. If issues arise after installation, I have no confidence that support would be provided.

Sunbeam Solar & Electical Well where do I start with this business? I had a friend tell me about this company he heard of who I then approached and an agent called [Name Removed] came out at the day and time we agreed on. He offered to review my roof and came back to me with a quote and offer to supply stating they would take approximately 4 weeks to install I paid a deposit on January 9th and was expecting an install sometime in late February. There was communication back and forth between myself and [Name Removed] by text messages until he emailed me on February 20 th to advise the installation was to be February 26th. Well no one turned up on the day and i could not reach anyone for a while until I was messaged by a man calling himself [Name Removed] saying we will reschedule. Since then that person has ignored text messages from me and not responded to calls either The sales rep [Name Removed] has no idea what is going on saying the electrician who came out and looked at our roof refused to do the job. We have a standard roof like most homes. This person is obviously a subcontractor that they ask to cover job requests and he said they refuse jobs and accept easier jobs for more money. So they obviously dont have their own employees and cant organise themselves it seems. [Name Removed] has ignored countless phone calls and text messages to speak to me to let me know what is going on. I can only possibly imagine the lack of after sales service when you are setting up your supplier and the operating mechanics of the system as im seeing multiple posts on Facebook of issues people are having using the Foxess systems and batteries they provide. It is now March 14th I would not recommend this business in any way so look elsewhere and do your homework on the company you choose! I'm considering taking the matter to SA Gov Dept of Fair Trading and request my deposit to be refunded.
Ater what on first experience seemed to be a good job, have been unable to receive any after sales service - ie after having made full payment. Some exposed electrical work was meant to have a follow up visit, but this has not happened despite various attempts on my part to have it rectified.

Now to top this all off, I have received a letter from the Office of the Technical Regulator advising that they have suspended the licence of the electrician involved in this installation and that the work may be non-compliant. Am required to now engage an independent electrician (at my own expense) to have the installation inspected and certified for compliance! What a nightmare!
