Broke down three times, TWICE WITHIN (12 months) WARRANTY period and was replaced by reseller but third time it was JUST (13 months) outside warranty. I will NEVER buy anything made by Sunbeam. Yet, when it worked - it was ok. Show details

Very disappointed ! – Brand new and clock doesnt hold time…loses an hour after 5 hours. Returned for exchange only for the exchange to have the exact same problem. Rang customer service, couldnt understand a word of what was being said, gave up! Have been a loyal sunbeam user, not anymore. Quality and service are non existent! Show details

Great product when price is considered – Works a treat, simple to use program setting and clock time fast brewing 12 cup coffee machine... Keeps coffee hot few a few hours. Easy to clean filters etc however water chamber is not so easy.. every so often I fill with a 1/10 vinegar/ water mix leave for 6-10 hrs then rinse chamber thoroughly all good and it emoves any water grime build up.. I also use the paper filter with the the oem supplied. Very happy.  Show details

Nothing changes much with these – I have owned a few in the past , things seem to always be mostly the same with them but they serve a purpose and I like the results I get for what you pay. Although Im starting to thing I paid too much for it looking at other reviews. Firstly, I never use the supplied filter net. I use the non bleached paper types 10 to 12 cup sold in… Read more

supermarkets. This way disposing of the coffee is easier with less cleaning.

These units do not heat up the water super hot but I have noticed this model is faster and a bit hotter than the previous ones I have owned. If your water temperature is colder in winter, you will get less heat, so sometimes its a microwave second heat, yet I accept that.

The programming is simple enough and it uses probably the most basic of timer operating systems , which is fine since it works to schedule ..... Except for the following negative point.

This model like all other models before I have had has one annoying floor in it which frustrates me, and that is that it has no memory function on a power off. So you lose your time and settings when the power even momentarily is lost. I would have thought they would have worked that one out by now. No last command priority works when the power is lost.

If that one gets solved in the future I will be surprised, all else im good with.

Not the quality product I expected from from Sunbeam – The unit works under ideal conditions, but is riddled with issues. They include the following: - The coffee is warm, not hot. In cold weather it struggles to maintain pot temperature. - The LED display is on permanently and very bright at night. - The design of the coffee filter receptacle and water reservoir allows particulate material to be… Read more

easily spilt, dropped or washed from the filter to the water tank, which obstructs water flow between the reservoir and outlet. There is no design feature to mitigate this problem (online reviews and help requests suggest this is a frequent issue). There is also no instructions or diagrams available to allow this issue to be resolved without returning the unit. - The flow of water through the grounds is so fast that it requires a very find grind to get decent tasting coffee. There is no flow control option.

While the unit is very affordable, design flaws and operational shortcomings are hard to tolerate when several are real show-stoppers.

We've owned many Sunbeam appliances over the years and most have been excellent. This unit falls well short of our expectations from the company.

Highly recommended! – I bought this coffee maker 5-6 years ago and it has never given me any major issues. Steam from the hot water may have gotten into the electronics which caused the flashing timer button light to stop working. The button still functioned however just would not light up. In saying that, I have enjoyed perfect coffee every morning without fail.… Read more ·  1

Smooth flavour at the right temperature. After years of delicious coffee, my machine finally died last week, it stopped working altogether and I just replaced it today. Seems like they have a lifespan of 5 years or so as a Breville I bought in 2006 lasted about the same. If this new machine lasts me 5 years I would buy it again as it is quite dependable. Just remember to keep a paper towel or kitchen cloth nearby to wipe the hot plate clean if coffee or water drips on it as this ruins it over time. It will corrode the surface of the hot plate and eventually will not keep your coffee hot. Now, go out and buy one. Well done Sunbeam!

Love it – Drip filters are coming back into fashion....this one does exactly what it claims. For those who find the coffee is not hot enough....this is a failing of most coffee machines...whether expensive espresso or mid range pod...I know cos I have them. I warm the pot first by putting hor water in it before brewing...you can warm your cup too...or just… Read more

put it in the microwave for10 seconds. But try making coffee for a house full of guests with an espresso machine...this little filter machine makes a huge carafe full in no time...and it tastes great. Also great for making a big bottle of iced coffee in summer. Cleaning is a breeze...just tip out the coffee grounds from the extra filter on top of the stainless filter..yup it has two filters....rinse and it’s done...find a coffee you like and you will love the brew. For coffee experts who swear by only espresso i guess it’s not the machine for you...tho I actually prefer the taste...I use my expensive espresso machine mainly for frothing milk. The light is bright yes.. but it doesn’t annoy me...it’s in the kitchen. I love this coffee machine.

Great drip filter coffee machine – I am extremely happy with this drip filter coffee machine. I did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews before making this purchase. I have found this machine simple to use and clean. The coffee is very hot and stays hot for 2 hours. I note that other users find the coffee to be only warm - I haven’t had this problem but that might be because… Read more

I always make at least 10 cups (which equates to about 4 mugs of coffee). Like other users have stated, I found some bluish ink on first use of the machine and was able to trace this back to the reusable filter mesh. I washed the reusable filter in hot soapy water 3 times and this got rid of the dye in the mesh. I actually don’t use the reusable filter but instead use Harris paper filters that are available at supermarkets. I wet the filter before using in coffee machine. I would recommend this drip filter coffee machine.

Love it – Great temp of coffee. Very easy to use and to moderate coffee strength. Could not be happier with the product especially for the price. The only thing I question is the use of glass as it's not as child proof as we would like but still minor in our view Show details ·  1

I should have read the reviews – I wish i had searched reviews of this product before buying. All the problems listed in other reviews I have also experienced. Should have known better – Big W return policy - "Have problems that would have stopped me from buying the product had I known about them." - Machine drips: it states on the box that it's non-drip. - Coffee is only warm immediately after brewing and does not get any hotter when sitting on heating plate. Unfortunately I went with the cheapest coffee maker and didn't heed the reviews. Returning today for a refund and will purchase a better quality machine. Show details

Brand new and not working – I unboxed the machine and set up to use. It wasn't working so looked up a YouTube video and realised that it was missing a part (the straw and arm). Blue dye coming from filter – I followed the cleaning instructions and noticed the water was tinted. The. Realised there’s a blue kind of dye coming from the filter every time I run the water through. I have tried cleaning the filter several times and it keeps happening. It even stained my hands.. but if I remove the filter and I just use a disposable one, the water comes out clean. what is the blue stuff in the filter? Chemicals? Show details

Luke warm coffee – Extremely disappointed with this coffee machine. The coffee is luke warm right from the start. I’ve only had it a few weeks but regret the purchase. I was tossing up between this and a Breville. Think I made the wrong choice due to this one was cheaper. Usually like Sunbeam products. Show details

I do not want to use it as it could be poisonous. how many washes do I need to do to clear this. Show details

Retro brews are back – Ok. its been years and these types of coffee makers took a back seat to the group handle and pod varietys machines.. Its also been years since I saw the coffee filter papers for sale too in the shops , but they are back. I had a former model, lasted ages and now had to replace it. And what did I get... features just with a new look. Hey thats fine, I prefer using the paper bags over the re-usable screen filter. Chuck the mess out I say. Well, this type of maker has its pros and cons

The pro is that you get a more mellow flavoured coffee over the harsh water pressurised machine types. The con, not that this is an issue is the fact that you will use more coffee to make cups.

It works the same as my old model, no frills and that ready to drink programmable time feature for the morning after... Im sort of glad they brought this one back.

Its just not that expensive compared to other types and unlike pod machines, you will be ahead on price per kg for the coffee here. Im not a pod fan, you cant see what coffee you buy as its sealed up.

Retro is back folks

Good machine for great price – Machine is easy to use and does what it is supposed to do - make drip filter coffee. Don't expect a cheap machine to make gourmet coffees as it is not really possible. This model is good and replaces my old one that was near worn out just before my wife broke the carafe. It was better to replace the old machine and this one fits the bill. Good coffee, easily made at a great price has to make a person happy. Show details ·  1

Problems after two weeks of using – We bought a Sunbeam drip coffee machine from Harvey Norman. After two weeks the filter spring softened and the coffee started dripping over the hot plate. We had to return it but we wasted time trying to fix the issue. The capacity is 12 cups which is too much for two people but you ca find nothing smaller or cheaper today. The coffee machine takes too much space for what it does.  Show details

Excellent for the price – I bought this for coffee and it works fine. Love the programming so I can get up in the morning to fresh coffee. My wife uses it for tea, works just as well. The only issue is once it has gone through its cycle the hot plate temperature is not adjustable and I feel it is a bit too cold. I have to microwave my cup of whatever to get it hotter. Other than that just fine.  Show details

Favourite Machine in the kitchen – Really happy with my new coffee maker, its easy to clean and happy that it doesn't require paper filters!
