throughout phone discussion, the Salesman acknowledged my specific needs in particular for a fully front and rear opening gates on the cage. Arranged to collect on April 20, 2020 and pay in cash Collection day came. The sales person showed me all the gate locks on cage and trailer, how to operate Hydraulic Tipper and on / off switch. I was shown how the front cage gate opened fully, which required a small lift to go over the front bracket mounted Spare Tyre which came welded to frame close to operation box housing Tipper mechanism and motor. Was well pleased From April 20, 2020 until November 2022 I used the trailer with front cage gate being either opened or closed as I had planned depending on load requirements. (See photos) I carted long bamboo, furniture, large tree ferns, pipe etc with front cage gate open, I carted horse manure, cubic meters of landscaping supplies etc with front cage gate closed. I loaded rocks and pavers and other heavy items through the open front cage gate which was easier than climbing up into the trailer to push each rock and paver to the front of the trailer. It was easy to move front cage gate to an open or closed position as I needed. Then in November 2022 one of the trailer tyres was slashed by a piece of metal. RACQ came and changed ruined tyre for Spare Tyre which had come with the trailer supplied by Superior Trailers. When I started to move car and trailer the trailer wouldnt move. The RACQ Officer looked under the trailer and part of the metal tyre rim was firmly scraping on Metall of the trailer. It was the wrong size. Had to leave trailer over weekend till the following Monday to be able to take ruined tyre into Tyre Service centre and they replaced the ruined tyre. Wonderful RACQ came on that Monday and changed over the tyre for me, placing the wrongly sized Spare Tyre back onto the front mount. I phoned Superior trailers and they agreed to change the wrongly sized Spare Tyre over to the correct one free of charge. My journey to Superior Trailers in Brisbane is a 5-6 hour round trip. Spare Tyre changed I travelled home. A week or so later was preparing to collect some bamboo poles length so went to open the front cage gate fully and secure it in the open position. Problem was the Spare Tyre that had been replaced by superior trailers was larger than the original supplied and I could not lift the edge of the front cage gate over the new Spare tyre. (See photo) Thus the front cage gate could only be opened about 30cms The only way I could fully open the front cage gate was to lift and remove the front cage gate from its hinges. I don't have the physical strength to lift such a heavy metal gate vertically up and off its hinges. Much less lift the gate from the ground up onto its hinges to replace it. I contacted Superior Trailers about the problem Cut a long story short I was told the front cage gate was never built to fully open but ONLY in a limited way to access to the load! Thats not what I specified in ordering and shown when I collected. (See photos, Superior Trailer actually advertises Opening front cage gate on their web site, it doesnt say limited opening of front cage gate) It was Superior Trailers fault of putting the wrong size Spare Tyre on the trailer when I purchased it I had been using the trailer with front cage gate fully opening for the past 2 years and 7 months. Now after Superior Trailer had placed a different size Spare Tyre on the trailer I can no longer use the trailer as I had specified when ordering and had utilize as such for over 2 and a half years, I contacted the Queensland Office of Fair Trading. QOFT contacted the person at Superior Trailers, but they refused to assist in any way. All that needs to be done is to shorten the mounting bracket holding the Spare Tyre by about 7-10cms. But Superior Trailers has refused. Superior Trailers have also been made aware that Im 66, a woman alone on acreage with advanced Bone Marrow Cancer. They still refuse. Now I am stuck with a trailer that I cant use in the way I need and ordered and paid for What do you think?
