Sure Solar

In April 2024 Sure Solar installed our 13.2kWh solar system with 12.8kWh battery storage. The discussions pre purchase with Jason were always helpful and informative allowing us to decide on the size and brands that we felt would give us the best results for what we could afford. The team that installed our system were efficient, friendly and… Read more
very professional and ensured we were satisfied with the work completed.
Since then we have had a number of questions which have all been promptly answered by Griffun in a manner that we could understand. Our system has operated as we expected and we have been able to run our house including hot water heat pump and AC in both summer and winter, our pool filtration and heat pump (water temp set to 30 degrees) all year round with only a few days when we purchased power from the grid.
Cyclone Alfred was our first test of whether we, senior citizens, would be secure and able to live comfortably in an emergency situation.
Our thanks go to the whole team at Sure Solar for designing and installing a system that enabled us to not only have power in the home but to be able to manage our pool as it filled three times and also allow our next door neighbour to do the same and run their fridge as well. On top of all that we managed to add charge to our battery during the rain soaked days so that each night we had sufficient to see us through the night as we sat and enjoyed our regular TV programmes.
We have no hesitation in recommending Sure Solar to anyone looking to install a solar system.

Solar – These guys where really great then came on time There very professional and polite as was Daniel who sold us the system l would highly recommend them Liz Chessell
Poor communication; No background knowledge – I’m a tenant and the landlord decided on connecting solar. Great! Except when the end user can’t actually ask any questions despite the line “any questions contact *persons name*”. When I did they contacted the landlord with the belief that I was actually refusing entry and installation meaning there is now a level of concern between me and the… Read more
new landlord and real estate.
They expected me to use an app shared with my landlord that tracks the panels. I was uncomfortable about what will be viewable due to past instances of personal safety infringement. I couldn’t get an example of “the app” just had to provide an open wifi channel. So instead of answering the question they just didn’t include the connection. Thankfully I opted for a separate network so I can be assured it wasn’t sneakily installed. I’ve had it scanned for connection since installation. Yes, it got to that point of distrust.
They couldn’t answer where “the app” was based so I couldn’t be sure that my usual choice of Australian only servers was respected.
I don’t know what’s been installed so I don’t know if my appliances are safe. They won’t answer me.
They asked for my electricity provider which I answered but I don’t know how this all affects my billing period or even if I am still using my own account. I don’t know if I can change electricity providers.
Completely in the dark and I’m the end user of it. (Pun intended). They expect the real estate to be able to answer these questions for me… how on earth is the receptionist going to know any more than I do when they are the provider????
Not good enough and plain disrespectful to users. I hate the thing and all for the sake of some simple explanations that would have helped me understand what the impact was to my family and I. The best thing about having to rent for a while is finding out which proves you would NEVER choose to do further business with.
ADDITION - left part of the system uninstalled, sent apprentice to trespass on the property and completely ignored required legislation for entry to a rental.
Prompt and professional – I installed a solar system with Sure in Jan 2022. I looked at 3 vendors: one wanted to take me for a ride (suggested a HUGE system on finance) and was very misleading, one was pretty unresponsive and then there was Sure: direct, factual, responsive, professional. It was a big investment (for me) but I felt that I could trust them to do a good job.… Read more
Well 3 years later, we have had no problems and we have avoided the worst of the power price spikes! Couldn't be happier. Would highly recommend.
Once the Order is signed - watch out – How was the sales/quoting process? The Sales person was helpful and quick to respond. However when finalising the pricing, and discussing alternate Suppliers, they engaged in some questionable activities <i will update the details in the near future>, all designed to propagate fear and convince me to sign with them. I was given an installation… Read more
time frame 'mid-end' Jan, and based on this i paid the deposit. I should have known better.
Once back at work, i waited patientlyt to hear confirmation of the installation date, as i was told someone would contact me. Hearing nothing, i sent out a couple of emails requesting confirmation. I eventually received an email advising me that my installation date was mid February.
I emailed back stating that this was not good enough, and was not what had been agreed, and that each week it was put out, it was costing me money. I stated that unless they stuck with the agreed installation period i would cancel the order. January - 30th.
The day 'before' installation, i received a call, which i missed {no VM left}. The following day, we experienced inclement weather, and i received a call advising that the installation was cancelled.
I later contacted Sure Solar and requested the revised installation date. Initially my communications fell on deaf ears, and only after sending another email, was i told that my new revised date was the 13th Feb.
I questioned this, stating that we had lost 2 days due to inclement weather, not two weeks. I was told that the weather "this" week has meant we have been unable to install a few jobs", so we are behind.
Considering that our installation was on the Tuesday of "this week", we were towards the front of the queue. I told him that we had lost 2 days not 2 weeks.
It dawned on me, that they had never intended to perform the installation on the 30th, and that we were now at their intended installation date of mid-Feb. I suspect that they never intended to honour the 30th installation date, and had only agreed to keep the order.
I told Sure Solar that the revised date was not acceptable, and advised once more that unless they offered us an earlier date, i would be cancelling the order.
I received a curt reply "Send me your bank details and i'll issue you a refund, which i did. The pleasantries had now dissipated, and suddenly experienced first hand why their customer service" ratings and reviews were not the best. That was on the 2 Feb.
On the 5 Feb i emailed asking when my refund would be processed.
I received another curt reply - "When i am back in the office and when my XXX is out of hospital.
I offered my sympathies that this person's XXX was in hospital, but that this should not impact Sure Solar's ability to conduct its business and meet its obligations (words to that effect). I asked if Sure Solar was a one man band, and that i still needed a date when my refund would be processed.
Hearing nothing subsequent, i emailed again, informing Sure Solar that i would not wait indefinitely for my refund.
As of today, 7 Feb, i still have received no confirmation as to when i will be refunded. I did call the office, and learned that the person i had been communicating with (I will name them in the near future) was in the office, but was in a meeting.
So the original comment "When i am back in the office..." has eventuated. No further emails, no date for my refund.
Is Solar Quotes in Financial Trouble? Is this the reason i am hearing nothing about my refund?
You be the judge.
Great Service - Good Product – Sure Solar installed a 19.2kW battery system at our home. The first installation went flawlessly. Half a day, professional tradies and a clean worksite at the end! So when we upgraded our old solar panels recently I again chose Sure Solar. Panel install went well and a new second inverter also installed. A week or so later we had cut off… Read more
problems and I asked Sure Solar to come out to look at it. Of course it happened on a Friday but even so their local installer at Maleny came out late Friday afternoon to problem solve. Problem was eventually identified as being our mains line from meter to house. Instead of shrugging shoulders and saying that's your problem Tom stayed. Saturday they came and worked ALL DAY - on their personal time - to solve the issue. Now we are up and running again. Top marks to Sure Solar, Tom and Pat - I feel like a customer instead of a nuisance!!! Professional, knowledgeable, good work and a tidy site. Thanks Daniel.
