Comfortable, reliable heavy duty bike – I own a stock Canadian C109RT with factory saddle bags and rear cargo bags. It came with heated grips and other passenger accessories dealer fitted. This is a beast for long distance cruising. It is very heavy and comfortable on long rides. You will never get tired. Very stable and got loads of low end torque. Tall gearing ensures cruising at 120… Read more

KM/hr effortless. You can actually ride high speeds even in the 3rd or 4th gear. This is a maintenance free cruiser with no problems whatsoever. Just perform regular oil changes and other scheduled items. It is not for novice or mid-grade riders, but once you get used to the weight you can maneuver it very well even in tight traffic or speedy windy Canadian mountains. I consistently get 16 km per liter in city and about 18 km per liter in highways. Seat comfort on stock seats is very nice and you can easily do 700+ KM every day on multi day tours. People have been talking about gear issues on these bikes. But I don't think it is an issue, it is a learning curve for this lovely bike. I can REV my bike in any gear before shifting up. Likewise I can shift down to neutral each and every time I stop at a signal or slowing down or cutting curves. One should not complain without actually learning how to ride it.

People also say it is tough to ride the bike in corners. That is simply not true, their skill level is not upto the mark. I have owned smaller bikes and can throw this around corners just as much as the smaller ones. If you get a chance to own one, go grab it.

Boulevard fanatic – I’ve own my C109R for 10 years & what a monster machine it is...I spent a bit of money on it over the years not because I had to but I wanted it running in good condition. Just clocked up 50 thousand kms & I reckon she will run for another 50 thousand no worries at all. I’ve always wanted a Harley Davidson Street Glide & I’ve ridden one & made my… Read more ·  1

mind up to get one but I always back out & hang onto the Big Boulevard. The Harley got the name but it hasn’t got the cruiser capabilities of the Boulevard. So it looks like I’ll die owning my beautiful Boulevard... cheers Shane T.

What a brute! – After jumping off a VFR 750 onto my first cruiser, it was like learning to ride all over again. Especially the big Suzuki that just says come on mate, give me your best. After owning the big fella for 3 weeks,I'm very comfy on it. The riding position is magic and I'm looking forward to some decent trips. Absolutely wrapped in the big brute and… Read more

recommend one if you're looking for a comfortable and ridiculously powerful cruiser. I won't look back or change bikes. Love the big Suzuki, Colonel

Boulevard Beasty – Recently purchased a low K's 2008 example of this Cruiser Motorcycle. It won't appeal to the Harley Crowd but if you just want a good quality Cruiser with lots of grunt with a modern 8 valve fuel injected liquid cooled motor and shaft final drive then this is a good choice. Having previously owned a Triumph Rocket 3 classic, I can say that… Read more

this bike has a better feel being a big V twin, certainly has less maximum power but still more than enough for anyone with or without a passenger. A pity this model was discontinued but it shares engine and Drive line and many other parts with the M109R which is still in production so parts down the road should be a problem.

A most enjoyable ride and if you don't like to 'follow the crowd', so to speak - you will rarely see another one out there.

Perfect tourer – I have liked the C109R ever since I took one for a test ride back in 2013. It was a demo but I felt like I was part of the bike and was away for 45 minutes.... The dealer was abit worried by the time I returned. I didnt buy it because I didnt have the AUS$14999 at the time. I bought an M109R 2007 LE eventually and have made some tasteful mods to… Read more ·  1

it since getting it 2 years ago. Being recently divorced I went looking for a C109R to complete my set. I found one and bought it. I love the bars position and the ease with which the bike can skip from 80km/hr to 140km/hr in a few seconds. The more upright sitting position is very comfortable and the bike's stance on the road is a classic. It's comfortable and can fit all your touring gear on it without compromising the aesthetics of the bike like some others. It has the classic bike look about it and the headlight is a monster. There isn't many around that I've seen in Australia so if you find one in good condition you should buy it on the spot. You dont need all the bling that some other cruisers need to dress them up as they are complete on their own.

In have looked but found. Nothing to replace it with – After owning a c109r for 12 months I left from NZ to Australia. As the bike only had a range of 200 - 230 km I thought I would replace it. After trying almost every make and model around decided to put up with the short range. This is by far the best big cruiser I have ever ridden power where and when you want it and very comfortable on long or… Read more

short trips.. Ok the tight twisty roads can be a challenge but who cares its fun to ride. I watch the tupperware torpedoes scream by and pass them at the next cafe. In short if you want the ultimate cruiser check our the C109 R and they don't cost $40000!!!

More bike than you'd ever need, as much as you like – I've been riding since 2006, been on plenty of bikes both my own and friends and road tested a few more for good measure. When I took a two year break from riding and came back I decided to hunt for a new bike (only ever owned cruisers). I wanted a shaft driven bike for low maintenance, a bulletproof engine for reliable distance riding up and… Read more

down the east coast and a bike that could hold it's own against any of the big boys.

After a lot of looking the C109 got the final seal of approval. Of three months of riding the bike I have collected almost 15,000 Kms on the road with it riding it almost every day regardless of weather.

Let me just say, Suzuki have packed more bike than almost anyone could ever need, with highway pegs ($100) a throttle switch ($30) and a back rest I can safely say no highway seems too long for her.

Something that has never been mentioned in any reviews I have read to date on the bike, you are not going to be blown about like you can on other bikes, even the other big litre cruisers get a bit of a knock around when going head long into an oncoming trucks wall of wind, not this bike. Something else seriously under-stated is the weightlessness it feels when picking up speed. This is a 400ish KG bike with accessories and wet but you'd be hard pressed to tell the engine that as you torque through the first 100kph. That effortlessness comes at an under-estimated rev limit, even an after market tacho can help only so much when the bike feels like it can keep pulling in the same gear forever, it seriously never seems to strain and that is impressive in its self.

It's not a racer, but it will blow you away. It's not a cornering machine, but you'll absolutely have a blast blowing some corners with her (in fact, it ADD's to the joy having to do more pre-work going into the corners.. imagine all the fun of navigating a high speed corner on a sports bike... every moderate speed turn you do on this one ;)

Last but not least, this is not a bike that will be easily replaced, I doubt after riding so many other bikes that I will ever ride one quite like this again. Lets hope Suzuki keeps this model in the market for many years to come and hope enough people decide to test ride this amazing machine.

Never too old! – I brought mine up from Adelaide to Sydney, via The Great Ocean Road, across to Frankston by Ferry from Queenscliffe and then north of Melbourne through to Albury and the back of Sydney. At 80k's with no windshield, there's a bit of buffering, until you hit 120! But I quickly realised I was speeding and dropped back to 110. When you really need it,… Read more

she really picks up with plenty of torque. The back tyre tends to take you where the bike wants to go, so I just let it do its thing. If anything, it shows how bad our highways and Freeways are maintained, or not. I'd like to see the controls better laid out and the bike looking a little more fancy! For a 60 old with little bike experience, she's a gem, but haven't had anyone game to go pillion yet!

Osam grunt and smooth – I have only had it for 3 weeks done 1000kms but is grunty ,smooth the size and weight take a bit of getting used to you have to tip it in hard on the corners seems to corner better to the left than the right , could be very easy to come unstuck if you dont pay attenion on some tight corners . LOVE IT cheap affordable good value (not buing a badge) looks wicked gear box a bit clunky 1/2

A great Value and Capable Cruiser – Having completed the first 300 Miles on this Bike I am impressed with the ease with which I have adapted to the machines dynamics, handling and seating position. It is a truly gigantic bike weighing in at over 400K with the addition of fuel, and a couple of accessories, i,e, the sissy bars and screen, along with a couple of panniers. which of… Read more

course with the addition of a fully clothed rider means about half a ton going down the road!

That said, the brakes are adequate, along with the rest of the performance, this is a bike for cruising along, at about the uk national speed limit,i.e. 60mph. It is capable of higher speeds, but the wind flow and general riding dynamics become less comfortable. and of course, the fuel costs escalate to nearly double that of a modern car!

This is a great "hobby" bike for those, like myself, of mature age, who's reflexes are not swift enough to allow sportbike riding, and who need a very comfortable and upright riding position to keep the arthritic aches and pains at bay! Reliable, Cheap purchase price, Comfortable, Powerful. Great Dealer network. High running costs

Excellent – Very easy to handle despite of it's heavy weight. The pulling power from low revs is what you expect from a big V-twinn like that. There is hardly any gearschifting necessary, in 5th gear she pulls nicely from ~80km/h to whatever speed you desire (hopefully not more than 110km/h!). The double brake system (back brake activates also the front one)… Read more

is graet for lazy highway driving. The doubble front brake is more than adequate for this bike, I had no problem bringing her to a quick stop in any situation. Seat and rider position is excellent. I did only about 3h ride in one go so far, but I am quite surtan you will be able to sit on her for hours without any back or bum pain. Best bike I ever had (125 Puch, 750 Honda K1, 350NZ DKW and a R69 BMW) Looks, power, compfort, handling helmet mount (can't use while riding, for spare helmet)
