Swisse Ultiboost Hair Skin Nails Liquid

Scared to ingest this potion – The foil seal popped off with loud bang and the liquid exploded onto the ceiling, bench and the sleeve of my white t-shirt!! Not happy Jan! It fizzed for a bit and more spilled out. I did a tiny taste test and it seemed like it had a bit of a sharp bite to it...like juice when it is off and fermenting. Returned it for a refund, as I'm too afraid to ingest a full dose. It doesn't seem to list the full ingredients... Show details
Diarrhea and redish poo – I had 15ml with lunch today. When I opened the seal, it popped up violently. Sounded like a big bang and frightened all my family. In the afternoon I felt sort of diarrhea. I used quite a lot of toilet paper, when toilet paper was so precious after COVID-19 outbreak, you know. I thought my period came earlier. Then I saw the redish poo and… Read more
realised it might be the side effects from the liquid.
Then I searched online. The silica intake in 15ml liquid is actually much higher than what recommended for normal adult. I don't feel comfortable to have this product. I threw away.
doubtful product – Bought this product as my hair started to fall down for no apparent reason. Same experience as other reviewers, fizzed when first opened, like fruit juices when they're off. It's supposed to be great tasting but tasted vile even in water and undrinkable undiluted. Just bought it with a short expiry date (4 months) so could well be off. Gave me heartburn. Intend to return it asap. Show details

amazing – Im a little concerned about the otjer reviews offered here and will look into it further but my experience has produced amazing results... about 3/4 months down track I notice my finger nails are like hard as steel (fact) and I think my skin is looking healthier (subjective)
Hair Skin Nails Oral Liquid & Sodium Benzoate – I couldn't find any reviews for the Liquid version of this product so decided to put this review here. I was disappointed to discover that the Hair Skin Nails Oral Liquid contains "sodium benzoate" which when combined with Vitamin C (as it is in the liquid) can become "benzene" which is a known carcinogen. Now I don't know what would possess… Read more
Swisse to use sodium benzoate in combination with Vitamin C when they could use a natural alternative preservative. I wondered why this product was so heavily discounted at the pharmacy and I can only surmise that stock is being run out because as awareness grows of the addition of sodium benzoate the product is becoming unpopular. The product does work however, but I think it is dangerous to consume.
Dangerous: Do not take – I started taking this supplement because I post-pregnancy I found my hair wouldn't grow. I called the number on the back of the bottle and spoke with a naturopath who assured me it was safe to take while breastfeeding. A few months into taking it daily I came across this website and read the reviews. "Liquid contains sodium benzoate and… Read more
ascorbic acid (vitamin C). Sodium benzoate might be acceptable on its own, but when it is mixed with ascorbic acid, it can create benzene, a potent carcinogen, which increases the risk of cancer and other diseases."
Once again I called the Swisse natropath and she couldn't deny that this was true. I am furious that they are allowed to sell these dangerous products, and I urge anyone taking the liquid supplement to stop.
Liquid supplement may contain benzene – I am a fan of many Swisse products. I bought Hair Skin Nails liquid supplement for its high silica content. I am going to return it though, as it contains both sodium benzoate and ascorbic acid (vitamin C). Sodium benzoate might be acceptable on its own, but when it is mixed with ascorbic acid, it can create benzene, a potent carcinogen, which… Read more
increases the risk of cancer and other diseases. I don't know why Swisse didn't formulate this supplement with the safer and natural preservative potassium sorbate, which they use in their chlorophyll liquid. Very disappointing. High silica content Contains cancer causing chemical
Check the ingredients in your products carefully, don't assume they're good for you – I purchased the liquid form of Swisse Hair Skin and Nails online. When I looked at the product I noticed a large statement warning of the product containing sodium benzoate. I did some research about this additive and found its use is somewhat controversial. On several sites I found the warning that sodium benzoate should not be combined with… Read more
ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) as this then forms benzoate a known carcinogenic. Ascorbic acid is another ingredient in this product. There is nothing contained in the labelling of this product warning you of this, nor do they state their case or issue a reassurance this is not the case - they issue a notification of this ingredient and leave the research up to you. I do not consider this a health supplement. nothing I personally dont consider the use of this product as being safe
