Put in an order for a rod and I get a message after 4 days saying that parcel is sent. That's appalling.

Pretty much always buy from these guys at Port Lincoln. They are after-all, fishing people, hence they know which products are best suited to the local conditions. Whilst the price often seems to be slightly higher that other shops, it's negated by the ACTUAL knowledge that the staff are more than willing to share with the customer. (Advice does… Read more

cost the shop and many forget that.) So the options are buy online (perhaps cheaper) without any support, or pay a bit more and receive the advice up front. The choice is pretty simple. Don't be one of those unreasonable people who want the cheapest price but also want free advice with it. Have some respect and find out how businesses run and the costs involved to them before you start complaining about costs. All too often, many people purchase on price alone, but there are "hidden" costs to doing this, which you only find out later when things go wrong, usually service related. Furthermore, some complain about the fact they can buy elsewhere cheaper. So why don't they in the first place? At the end of the day, nobody is forcing them to pay a higher price. Unlike government taxes and the prices that government charge us, where we have to pay the set price. Buying consumer items is OPTIONAL. I'm happy to pay a little more and get solid information about the product, coupled with the knowledge that the product is suited to my application. I've always found the staff at TW Port Lincoln, knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.

Good range of gear but no so great standing by products – In my experience it would appear that Blue Water Fishing Tackle in Myaree WA do not stand by products or take any consideration of existing customers. I purchased a relatively inexpensive fishing reel last season only to have it keep jamming up on me. Took it back to the guys at the shop once and was told it was a loose nut which was fixed at the… Read more

time. Appeared to be fixed only to have it jam again before use. Second time back to the shop I told it was due to "miss use". There is no eveidence of "miss use" the reel has never beed dunked and always washed in fresh water and sprayed from time to time. When the same guy looked into the reel he asked me "what is ths grease in here" well I said "it is the grease put in by the manufacturerer not me" so seems to me a strange question to ask ? I asked what the business was willing to do as I believe it is faulty and was told "nothing" it has been miss used (NOT TRUE)

Very helpful – I needed a part for a Abu Garcia reel and after trying a very well known national fishing store as well as a small privately owned fishing store with no interest in helping ( was only a $15 part) I tried tackle world Morley which is around 25 minutes out of my way and received great service above what I would of normally expected- will be heading back there when I need to update my fishing gear. Show details

All i wanted and more and cheaper – I needed a hat and some swim fin keepers. Hat was finally big enough and cheaper than other vendors in the same merimula street. Friendly professional service. I also priced a reel that was cheaper as well. Thank you and i will return

Over priced gas refills – Overpriced. $14 to fill one 2 kg gas bottle. Cheekily told to go someplace else when I complained that BCF charge $7.99. Six 6 $ extra markup. Pretty disgusting. There was no BCF store in Sale Vic but sorry I didn't get at BCF in Bairnsdale.

Bad customer service and after sales service – Bought a brand new rifle from these guys, was all great until I got it home to fit it out with scope etc went to put the laser sight into the end of the barrel and noticed a huge dent in the end of the barrel that bulged into the barrel approx .5mm. Rang them and they weren't interested, was completely blamed on me and weren't willing to have a… Read more

bar of it. Gunsmiths had to machine nearly 10mm of the end when I got it reckoned. I now understand why my mates have only shopped there once and not returned, I should have headed their advice. Now I go to the hunting store in gawler and get awesome customer service and advice and at a better price as well.

'Bait' Advertising - Stock never arrived and no appologies – I usually wouldn't go on and on about Tackleworld as they have their own soured name in the fishing fraternity. I have heard some bad plugs about overly inflated prices and some pretty ordinary customer service received from their employees - this is from those that I speak to while fishing and from forums etc. I went into my local Tackleworld… Read more

after being sent their catalogue that was sent to my home address about a Plano Tackle bag (this bag is not available in any other shop?). I went to the Tackleworld the very next day as the catalogue didnt have a start date, I went in and had to find someone that had half an idea what I was talking about as the first young fella had no clue what I was talking about even when showing him the paper and picture of the item. The young fella went to another guy which was [name removed] (Supposedly the owner?), he said that they weren't in yet and that they would be in the start of next week (a week after they sent me the catalogue). He offered me an older and much larger and much more expensive tackle bag, however this did not satisfy my needs at all.

The next week that I went in to get the catalogue item, I walked into the shop to find the items still not on the shelf, I found a salesman and asked if he can help me - I noticed that he was holding a new Daiwa SOL only by its handle and twirling it around and around making it spin, I asked him if thats the way you hold a $300 reel and he replied 'I'm quality testing it' - ahh wrong answer! I asked where the stock items were from the catalogue and he said that they arent available and took my name and contact details down - thats all he could do even when I said that these items were in the catalogue from last week.

And so, two weeks later I am still none the wiser about the item that I went in 3 weeks ago to buy, I have not had a phone call or anything to let me know that they have arrived - I am giving up on Tackleworld and their pathetic attempt to supply a front page catalogue item. They supply glossy papers and do regular mail outs and state that they are Australia's best 'blah blah blah' but this failed attempt of proper advertising has led me to review them like I have. I do understand that this is a huge store and part of many Australia wide and that they are trying to get in all items, however I am just totally let down by this particular store, as I went in there twice (even told them that I felt let down while I was there) and left my details for them to contact me - either which way if the stock arrives or it doesn't? Which they havent still 3 weeks later!

I've given up on that item, poor form Tackleworld!!! Massive range of stock... Some and if not all prices are overinflated compared to other stores, failed to get in catalogue item, poor handling of stock items, some stock there looks like its been there since 1923 (dust and damaged packaging)...
