Amazing value best TV I've ever had – Amazing best Value EVER. Got the 50" for $404 in 2019 thru the Bing Lee ebay promo. Still going strong. Best TV bargain I've ever had. There were a few issues at times. Like midnight TV turn ons (however after reading online fixes, I simply turned off auto update and done). Another one I do is regular cache memory clearing and never a problem or… Read more

freeze since.

I learned to love and respect TCL over the years. Google TV is a must now for the future, great software experience. As of writing the TV is still going strong!! (09/2019 - 01/2023) 5 stars!! Will consider a TCL for the next big bargain that comes up. Will admit will go larger than 50" on the next one now.

TV Start got some problems after few months later – The images go brighter to normal or dark to normal as playing PS4 or watch Netflix. Happened often after few months purchased and just feel very annoying...better go for others good brand one! Show details

Great until it breaks down – Good sound and picture. Quick response to the remote. Ive had mine for 7 weeks. 2 weeks ago the glitches started. Slower to start up, Slower to respond to the remote, longer waits for apps to load, periodic cutting out and returning to menu, until now where it wont load anything. Its gone haywire... Show details

Great picture:price ratio – All the apps work well and it connects to the internet very easily. The in-built Chromecast works seamlessly. It took a bit of fiddling within the settings, but eventually connected up the ARC return with my LG soundbar and can control it using the TV remote. Having connected the soundbar up immediately, I can't speak to the quality of the… Read more

in-built TV speakers. The base is sturdy enough. I wouldn't say the picture quality is amazing, with the blacks certainly not great, but that's to be expected from a non-OLED tv. It works well with both TV and gaming through my PS4.

Overall, an excellent value 4K TV.

Not sure what the point of the extra small remote is.

Very good overall – Things I like: 1) Price. $463 for a 4K HDR TV is just awesome! 2) Built in chrome cast. A chrome cast ultra would easily set you back $99. It’s very nice to have it built in. 3) YouTube works and loads pretty quickly. 4) very light. Only 10 kg and easy on my swivel wall mount. Things I don’t like: 1) My living room is very bright during the… Read more

day and the reflection on the screen makes the screen not viewable even at maximum brightness. My old samsung tv did not have this problem. 2) the second day I could not turn on the tv using the remote. I had to turn the power off and on and it worked. 3) the built in speakers hurts my ears. You will definitely need a sound bar or 5.1 home theatre

Samsung outsource LCD production to TCL. Therefore they must be good

Great value for the price – We changed our TV and in the JB Hi-Fi shop, we decided to try a new brand. We bought a TCL 50P8M QUHD 4K HDR Android TV. Good range of apps and great sound for standard TV. Very good picture quality above all for movies on Netflix or Prime Video. It comes with a 3-year warranty. I recommend this TV as it is great value for the price. Show details

Fantastic TV and not just for the price – Great TV that out performs many Higher end Tv's, I have even owned LG Oled, I have been looking for tv that has the motion compatibility of a plasma tv, none have ever really been close, this thing has a perfect motion rate with no sign of motion blur or juicer, unbelievable for the money, maybe tv makers have finally worked out how to build a… Read more

proper tv, I also bought a 55 Samsung a few weeks ago and the motion on this TCL is even better, one gripe is the brightness could be a bit stronger but works fine if you set the brightness to brightness+ not eco you will find the option. I have only tried the 50" but cant see why the others wouldn't be the same, this tv has 100hz motion blah blah blah where as the 75" inch has 200hz so that should in theory be good. Anyway great Tv that surpasses my expectations and cheap as chips with 3 yr warranty.

Great TV for the price – I bought this TV (50p8m) to downsize from my 55" TCL LCD LED 1080p. The purchase was $595 from JBHIFI, excl. Delivery price. I'm very satisfied, the home menu is easy to navigate and the picture quality is amazing. The only downside is the occasional judder. The pictures were taken while playing 4kHDR content: Our Planet, The Witcher and The… Read more

Great buy – Wide range of apps & features which all work great, picture is great quality. Sound is also great for a standard TV, I used to have a Logitech Surround Sound setup with my old TV but using the TCL standard speakers do not feel like too much of a downgrade. Would recommend this TV as it is great value for the price Show details

Worst smart tv ever – We've had this tv for 6 months now and it is so glitchy. Sometimes it wont even turn on, and if it does, it is very slow to start up. Apps like Netflix and 9now freeze constantly or wont even open. Chromecast feature hardly ever works. Midway through watching google play movies the app will shutdown and exit. We know it's not our internet… Read more

connection or apps as our other more expensive Smart tv works perfectly. I do not recommend TCL, pay the extra and get a quality brand name.

So many features for so little money – I brought my 4th TCL tv today, not because of any faults etc, these have all been upgrades. I have been so impressed by the reliability and quality in TCL's TVs. So I took the plunge and got a 50P8M. As we are in the midst of a horrible crisis, TVs are slowly becoming out of stock after researching TVs over a couple of weeks. I was lucky to get… Read more

this tv from Bing Lee. I was so impressed by the tv I made the decision there and then. Obviously not as good as a 5000 tv, but for the money, the vibrant colours, ease of use, multiple features, are all great. TCL have done it again. Nice metal frame with plastic back. Very light and easy to move. And even better is the 3 year warranty. I was even lucky enough to have the voice remote included worth $70. Awesome buy, and aside from the lack of more advanced options to adjust and personalise, that's the only flaw I can find so far. I'll update should anything further occur (highly unlikely) 4/5

Amazing TV at an Amazing Price! – Amazing TV, at an Amazing price! I Purchased this, My first Smart TV, under a little trepidation after reading some of the reviews posted here and elsewhere. But, the 2019 TCL 50P8M was on special, ($476 at JB HI FI), and within my price range... so, I purchased it thinking I could always return it if it was unsatisfactory; and, from the start was… Read more

impressed. Great sound, Very good picture quality and all the features I could possibly want, including AV connection and leads. It comes with a 3 year warranty so I feel secure in knowing if anything goes wrong I'm covered. I'm glad I made this purchase.

Better than expected for the price – My 50" Panasonic TV failed and being Christmas break and in a Port Macquarie a quote for repair was not possible until February. I bought the TCL 50P8M for $545 at Bing Lee following shop assistant Linda's advice and info. Internet research showed it was a good buy so I bought it and set it up myself. I am 84 and had no difficulty in set up. It is… Read more

light enough for me to lift into position on my own. Initially I was very disappointed in the picture quality, being hazy and lacking contrast. I used the settings suggested by a previous reviewer but had to tweek them more. Colour was set on Standard, Black level was reduced to 39 and brightness increased to 70. Picture perfect now especially on Netflix whose movies are probably made using the latest equipment ( see earlier comments re ABC Brisbane.) The attached photo is a crop of part of a screen showing a Netflix TV series taken with a mobile phone with no adjustments other than a crop.. SUMMARIZING. Very pleased with TV so far. An excellent buy.
