This phone lasted 5 weeks and 6 days – This phone was purchased on a contract for 24 mths, after 5wks 6 days the screen was blank and apparently has moisture ingression and this is from my husband keeping it in his pocket. No warranty for moisture ingression and $49.50 to have it sent away to telstra to have this confirmed (I am not spending another cent on this piece of rubbish) , apparently these phones have a moisture indicator and the shop assistant is addament that the white light which is now pink confirms this (moisture ingression). $479.80 for me to cancel my contract with Telstra to pay for this phone.

And a Telstra Easy touch Discovery t3 which is useless for me! I won't purchase another Telstra product as long as I live. Previous phones have never had these problems but then again we have always had Nokia or Samsung I won't buy another Telstra phone, and when the dust settles I will be taking my phone business to another company. Not happy jan!!

Easy Touch is an appropriate Name (for this customer) – Last Friday 17Aug12 my wife entered into into a mobile contract with the Nowra Telstra shop. The deal included a Discovery 3 which was represented as the only phone available for the package. The contract does specify the Discovery 3 but does not specify the upfront cost of the handpiece in the space provided on the form. This according to Telstra publicity we learn subsequently is $240.In the small print of the contract which was not explained to my wife, is the $408 price of the phone under a term "MRO". $408 is an excessive price for this unit. The inflated cost in my case I hope is a local case of misrepresentation. We have not used the phone and are seeking formal redress.

Further comment on 22 August 2012

Telstra Head Office took this matter up as soon as it was represented. It has been quickly sorted to my satisfaction and I am impressed by the service. The charging arrangements first commented up on above arose from local factors that have now been corrected (in my case). The Discovery looks good. The Discovery 3 is unaffordable and well outside the price range of this pensioner. I do not understand how Telstra can advertise the unit at $240 (which is too much for us anyway) and then charge $408.

Mostly good – The wording is clear and easy to see on the screen. I have only had this for about a week from when it 1st came out. It has some good points all the features are there at the start. It is not loud enough especially on speaker. Also the Camera controls are in a silly position as you tend to press them when holding the phone and it takes photos without you going to the camera section so a bit of a pest. It does not pair with my car either although they were working on doing this because the one it replaced didn't either. (Toyota)

I am very happy with this phone except for the volume on the loud speaker. However yesterday I took it back to the Telstra shop and was pleased to hear that it has 2 years warranty --in stead of the usual 1 year--. So will report later if they have been able to increase the volume on the loud speaker

I am very happy --as they only had my phone for 6 days when they rang me and told me it was ready--they had in fact replaced it with a NEW phone as the loud speaker on the other one wasn't able to be fixed. The NEW one works well on the speaker.
