Telstra T-Elite 2 5G
Verified1 review
I have a history of using budget friendly Android Smart phones and I update regularly both my mobile phones (one is work and he other personal) which use different carriers. This said here is my review of the T-Elite 2 5G or ZTE A9 Pro 5G mobile phone. I have been happy with this device except for two issues which aren't restricted to this device, but rather is tied to the Android Core version and my home environment. I will explain.
I have two issues.
1) There is a Bluetooth stack issue between my vehicle and this Android version that means that after a couple of days I must restart the phone or the bluetooth audio during a call doesn't work. you just hear noise. I have had the same issue with a motorola and a samsung phone and it is the android 15 core OS that is the cause of the issue with my GWM Cannon ute. I also have another ZTE device that is newer that I use with my Optus SIM and it is using Android 16 and there was a lot of work done by Android to address BT issues that has fixed the issues I see on my Android 15 based devices or earlier vesions as well.
2) There is a issue with Data connection loss sometimes (not often, say once every 3-4 weeks) when leaving a Wi-Fi only environment like the inside of my home. House is metal clad and I live in the country so there is limited Telstra signal outside anyway. If this issue occurs you don't realise that there is a problem until you try and use data yourself on the device, like say using Facebook. You need to restart the phone to recover data use again and not even flight mode switching or anything else will fix it.
Both these issues are seen on other manufacturers devices and reported online. My Android 16 devices haven't had the same issues as yet in 4+ months of use.
The T-Elite 2 5G is perfectly fine if you restart it once or twice a week or switch it off at night since the alarm will wake it and I am only now about to retire it as I dropped it and smashed the screen. Not the first time I have dropped it, but as I was running in the rain and kicked it to stop it landing in a huge puddle and when it finally hit the path then it shattered...still using it currently but have the next budget friendly Telstra device on order now.
Functions wise the device has everything I or anyone else would use. Cameras are good, sound quality is good, display is good as I am a gamer at heart and play several games every day while on trains and lunch breaks. Also all my other BT devices never have an issue with the phone, just my main car has the issue with the Android 15 and earier BT stack.
I will write a review for the Android 16 device I am using shortly.
