White Musk Oil Perfume - I cannot live without/ Additional comments 3.4.2023 – I have been using the White Musk Oil perfume from the time that The Body Shop started in New Zealand and Australia - I'm 72 now so I'm guessing I've used it half of my Life over 2 Countries. I have only ever used this Oil for two reasons. The first being as I am a migraine sufferer, I cannot stand any "alcohol based perfumes" and then because I… Read more

absolutely loved this perfume, I never used anything else. I always purchased 2 Bottles at a time, ($78 this time)1 for my handbag and 1 in my Bathroom. The one in my Handbag was one of The Body Shops best Advertising campaigns because wherever I went people would say how lovely I smelt and what was the Perfume so anyone complimenting me always got a few dabs of perfume and the next time I saw them, they would remark on how beautiful it was on their skin and most said they had or would be purchasing some for themselves. THAT WAS UNTIL 16 MARCH 2023 a day I will NEVER FORGET. I went into my local TBS only to be told that my usual White Musk was NO MORE. It was now VEGAN. I said to the Salesperson that I DID NOT WANT TO EAT THE PERFUME, I merely wanted to use it on my skin and "if it ain't broke, don't fix it". She gave me all the reasons "Y" but as I said, "why are people in Business AND elsewhere, pandering to the minorities". I have always been very happy that TBS has been an "ethical company" but this time this has gone too far. I have written a letter to TBS with my concerns and asking them to please return the White Musk Oil to its "original formula". i doubt very much "that they will listen to my little old voice" but I am certain that there would be only a small minority of people worldwide who would agree with the change or like the difference it's made. The bottle I tried in TBS actually smelled of ants and the perfume smell itself bore no resemblance to the original. I purchased 2 bottles because I was in a panic but I am NOT happy with the product and since using it in the past few days, it's nothing like the Original and I am sorry to say that I will NEVER purchase any more so that is my loss to bear. Why are Companys going on this "woke crusade" to pander to the minorities? I told the Salesperson that I would contact TBS and make a complaint but said from what I see and know of people today - no matter the situation, people are happy to complain about something but do nothing to bring about change because it's easy to just complain rather than take the time to do what I did and contact the Company. I am devastated. This has been such a huge shock to me and it's almost like I've lost a family member because of the impact it's had on me/my life. I realise it sounds a bit dramatic but I've relied and loved the original White Musk Oil for so long that it's a huge loss to me.

ADDENDUM to above REVIEW which I hope that TBS Company will see and read:

Something I can't quite comprehend with this "VEGAN" change to the TBS White Musk Oil. As I stated to the TBS Company and the TBS Employee, I wear the perfume, I don't eat it and then I got to thinking a bit more. What has to change to make a food or a product VEGAN????? 1. The product must be free from animal-based components or animal by-products. 2. Raw materials obtained from animals cannot be used. 3. Animal testing can be ruled out for the product. 4. Using materials derived from animals is also prohibited during the production process.

NOW: It does pose the question exactly what changed to take the TBS White Musk Oil from how it was to how they've changed it to because I would have thought that with their all-time promise that all their Products followed this ethos and have always been sourced and made "ethically sustainably" using no Animal components, not testing on Animals as per the meaning of "VEGAN", so exactly what was used in it or done to make the TBS White Musk Oil, which necessitated them having to change/remove something to cause it to now become "VEGAN". If it's always been "sourced and ethically sustainable" WHY THE CHANGE, I just don't get it. I'm still fuming because it DOES NOT SMELL THE SAME AT ALL and it's become quite a stressful thing for me.

Having been contacted by the TBS Company, the reply was basically that's the way it is and I'm sure that you will fall in love with another of their products. No, that's NOT just the way it is, and I won't find another product to fall in love with.

Excellent – I think they are good value as perfumes because being in oil form you do not need much to have an all day lingering scent. I like the simple, elegant round bottle design and find the applicator easy to use and it avoids over using. You can mix scents to make your own original perfume. Oceanus perfume oil is probably my all time favorite. It really… Read more ·  1

does smell like the sea without the fishy scent, and is great to add to home made bath salts or body lotions. We used to buy the Oceanus scented body wash by the litre, until they discontinued the1 litre bottles. If you buy a cheaper plain body wash you can add a few drops of the perfume oil for a similar effect. The Rose oil I wear straight as perfume.

Love it! – The vanilla perfume oil is my favourite! Smells so much like the vanilla essence you put in cake batter, yummy! It's a little expensive ($17.95 for 15ml) but a little goes a long way so it's very cost effective. I think this has a smoother, more subtle smell than the eau de toilette version. wonderful, unique scent A bit expensive. Show reply

Fragrance Essential – Starting out as a teenager with a youngster's favourite body shop oil Dewberry had me hooked for a lifetime. With age comes experience and what hooked me to begin with now makes me feel ill when I smell it. Luckily Body Shop also stock oils suitable for use by older women these days. Long lasting fragrance, Most of their oils also are produced in… Read more

an eau de toilette spray which tend to be lighter and fresher than the straight oils. I can highly recommend White Musk. Great for day wear especially as it is not an overpowering scent. The packaging is small so easy to pop into your handbag for portability. White musk oil is only one product in the range. I also enjoy burning Body Shop White Musk fragrant oil in the home. Recyclable Packaging good for the environment too. A tad expensive, but then again The Body Shop has always been pricey. I don't mind paying extra for a product I love and can't live without.

Good – Visiting a Body Shop fragrant oil display is like visiting a lolly shop. So many to choose from and a chance to sample them all. A great way to have a "play" with scents. The bottles are small and pricey, but the contents do last a long time. The scents are, for the most part, simple and adolescent. There are no "notes" to admire, but the choice… Read more ·  1

is enough to please most tastes. The availability of matching body creams and fragrance free shower gels is a real plus. I also like the values and ethics behind the brand. Overall, I would certainly recommend giving this one a go. You only have to use a little to get a strong scent. I find the smell lasts quite long on my skin. Because it is an oil, it moisturises the skin instead of drying it out. The applicator is easy to use. Can buy matching body creams and can combine with a fragrance free shower gel for a lovely scent in the bathroom. There is a good range of scents to choose from, so most people should be able to find one they like. I find I can buy a few and wear them according to my mood. If you are adventurous, you can also "layer" the oils to produce your own signature scent. A bit pricy for a small bottle. Some smell a bit too much like incense for my taste, but that's a matter of preference.

Good – These oils are a good idea if you want something different. There are so many different varieties and they include all the Body Shop classic fragrances. Since they are oils, I have only needed to use a little bit. A good and different choice in fragrances. These are really nice to try and because of the applicator, if I wear it, I only wear a very… Read more

small amount. It is a good way to try different fragrances they sell. The price is a bit high for these small oil bottles, but a little does go a long way. You cannot spray these, so you have to use the applicator and dip the oil wherever you want to use it. So, it is a little fidly to use and for me, I couldnt do it if I was in a hurry. (I may just need some practice)

also. The price is good and although you may have to re apply these are sure worth it. And at the price they are well re applying still makes them a cheap buy...Gorgeous and you cant go wrng with them. I think these gorgeous bottles of oil are just divine, they are well priced and just what you need for your handbag. Nothing at all.

OK – This seems to be a growing trend with Body Shop products they all smell beautiful and do their job however they do not last very long and seem to run out extremely quickly. The same goes for their perfume oils. Nice scent. As with most body shop products it doesnt last long and is expensive.
