Very unhappy with the product – First of all the thermal fuse burnt just after the warranty period expired, which I managed to fix after opening the motor casing. Now one of the three clips cracked and failed and spills everything from the jug from the bottom.

Cracked Base – Like most of the other posts, the base tags/clips cracked on our jug and caused the contents to spill over the kitchen floor. The jug has had very little use. Poor quality design and construction. I note this model is no longer available. I would caution anyone contemplating buying a blender to reconsider if it has the same plastic clips as that… Read more

on the BBL 100.

With manufacturers of other products such as the car industry, there would be a recall on faulty items.

Perhaps a contact with the Department of Commerce may would help to compensate and reimburse for our loss and perhaps class action could be taken.

same as the rest.. clip busted – One of the three plastic clips on the base of the blades has broken and now leaks everywhere. Will contact c.service tomorrow hoping for a replacement as it worked fine til then!

Poor Design – I brought this blender only to make smoothies, no not using big heavy ingredient. When I picked it up, the base fell out resulting in my smoothie going everywhere. I will be going back to the shop I brought it at and getting a refund to buy something more etiquette.

Exactly the same problem as most people! – Less than 12 months old, and surprise, surprise, the base of the jug broke. Contacted Breville, who quoted me $41.00 inclusive of postage, to receive a replacement jug (without the lid mind you). Dodgy!

Poor Design – Pretty much the same problem as everyone else! I had only had the blender for a few months when one day I went to lift the jug off the base and all of the contents of my smoothie went all over the base and floor. Massive mess, massive waste of money. Invest in something sturdy and maybe not plastic? I'm currently using my partners blender which… Read more

was cheap as chips and was purchased from the warehouse :) Nothing. bottom fell out of the jug, leaking all contents

Don't buy – The connection at the cup breaks from just normal use. Doesn't close tight anymore, comes loose when you turn ut on. Then spills everything you just mixed. Instead of having your healthy juice you have to clean your kitchen. We had it replaced the first time in warranty, now the new blender which we really treat carefull, starts leaking again! Price Breakes from normal use.

Terrible. Stay away – I advise Breville to remove this product from the market. I wanted a basic blender for making smoothies for the kids. It cant blend anything frozen. The engine smells like it's burning and the plastic bits on the bottom break off and it leaks....useless. This happened twice. I replaced it under warranty which was fine, but should I bother a second time? cheap and nasty

A waste of money!!! – After peeling, chopping and steaming a huge batch of carrots, I went to puree them and as I removed the jug from the base, the 'vegetables' of my labour ended up all over the benchtop and the blender motor base. Yes, the blade base had fallen off. I ALWAYS make sure the blade base is secure (using the back of a butter knife blade to tighten), but… Read more

just through the rotation of the blades, the base loosened.

"Can't happen again!" I thought, so I prepared another batch of carrots, only to have to same thing happen again!!! Needless to say, I'm going back to using a generic $30 Rocket blender, because this one has just gone in the bin!

Quite a disappointing product from Breville, considering I have a benchtop mixer from them, which is a fantastic product.

The blade base falls out repeatedly, no matter how much you tighten it

Don't buy! – It wasn't the cheapest by a long shot, but I chose this blender because it advertises that it can blend ice, so I thought it would be great for smoothies. Guess again. Not only was it super noisy, it didn't last a month and the bottom cracked when I tried to blend 3 small ice cubes. Having seen all the reviews before me saying the same, I wish I'd… Read more

done some research and never bought the bloody thing :( Credit where credit's due, it wasn't heavy and this made it easier to pour drinks. Rubbish quality, too loud, the base cracked from 3 measly ice cubes. Never buying Breville again!

DO NOT BUY THIS BLENDER. TERRIBLE – I have had two of these blenders since my son was born. He is now two, The first blender the motor burnt out blending cooked pumpkin and the second jug cracked last night when blending a smoothie with ice in it. Useless machine for high usage. I used my blender two to three times a week. Will never buy a breville again. First one burnt out second one cracke.d. Hopeless for high usage.

Don't buy this – First, a small piece of plastic cracked away from the base, this happened in the course of normal use. Then, the whole base of the jug, including the blade section dropped completely out of the jug, rendering the blender completely useless. I strongly recommend that you don't buy this blender!

Yes - I agree - don't buy this. Exactly the same thing happened to us only a couple of months after we bought it!

the bottom again! – Yes it happened to us too - what a mess when the blades stay where they are when you lift the jug up. Will need to pay more next time and not Breville. It's a shame as it has lasted us a few months but I guess you get what you pay for

Lasted about 6 months – Worked brilliantly but experienced the same problem as the others listed here - base clips broken off partially so the base will not hold the jug any longer. Plastic which cannot be repaired. Will pay more next time and not select Breville! But you get what you pay for I guess. Clean lines. it broke

A good little blender, until – We bought one of these in March 2012 and we both use it twice each day to make our Herbalife shakes. With its 700-watt motor and ice-crushing blades it's a good little blender, if a shade noisy. A few weeks after we bought it though, I lifted the jug off the base unit and the blades fell out. It drenched the base unit in smoothie and made a… Read more

spectacular mess all over the worktop and floor. Shortly afterwards one of the 3 plastic lips that hold the blade unit in the bottom of the jug broke away so we took it back. The store replaced it without question, but this morning my wife told me it did the same blades-falling-out thing again.... TWICE IN A ROW! It's going back and this time we don't want another one. Breville, you need to look into this and sort it out. A good little blender with a strong motor. Perhaps a shade noisy and of course with a tendency to drop it's blades out of the jug.

Same Issue – Wow. I can't believe I've had exactly the same problem as others. It worked well the first couple of goes, then on the third time the base falls off and smoothie goes everywhere. Same thing happened the next time. Will be taking it back today and trying a different brand.

What a disaster – The first couple of times went OK. The third time, when I lifted the jug off the base, the blade mechanism stayed with the base so the jug contents went everywhere all over the base and bench. I cleaned it up and reassembled it and tried again with only water in it. Same thing happened. That is so dangerous! After reading the other comments, I will be asking for my money back, not a replacement machine.

I have had the same experience with my blender so obviously it's not meant to last.

A shocker! – 2 x BBL100 blenders - bottom falls off when lifting the jug, and contents go everywhere! Happens with both blenders. Instructions carefully followed! Bottom falls off and pours contents everywhere.

Don't bother – Bottom fell off twice-contents went everywhere. Persisted til plastic piece broke off bottom. Took it back and within a few uses same plastic bit broke off Light container Fell apart, pieces broke off 2 separate appliances
