Still the One. Now with Summer finally upon us here in Sydney, it's time to come out and relax, and enjoy life's pleasures. For me, it eating out in Sydney. Enjoying a good steak, with perfect chips, is always high on my agenda, and if this can be… Read more

bundled with spectacular views, a modern dining room, and excellent service...well, the decision is easy. Meat Wine and Co is my choice. I've actually been dining at their Castlereagh St store through 2025, because of the very convenient parking across the road, but I miss the ambience of their Barangaroo store. Their Express Lunch is still available, (up $7) at $49 per head, this includes a two course meal and a drink. The menu has expanded since my last vist, and now boasts a Lamb Shank, but my wife and I were focused on our favourites. For starters, we had calamari, served with a heavenly citrus dipping sauce, and bruchetta, with a wonderful basil frangrance vinigarette. We had our hearts set on the rump steak and pork ribs, but I noticed more new options.....Wyagu Burger, and Steak Sandwich.....I couldn't resist! Wifey had her rump, and I went the steak sanga...both served with the best chips in Sydney. Apple juice for her, and a 4 Pines Pale Ale for me. We decided to enhance our lunch further with sides of mushroon sauce, and pepper sauce (extra $5 each). The rump was great as usual. Cooked to perfection, pink and juicy inside, and charred crispy at the edges. My sanga was 7/10 not because of the quality or taste, both of which were 10/10, but I thought it was difficult to get my mouth around it.....It was hardly a sandwich, but more like a roll. The meat was lovely though a little thick for a sanga, which in turn made it hard to take a clean bite (chew off). The BBQ sauce was excellent and really matched the juicy beef.... I suppose I could've used my knife and fork, but....it's a sandwich! Service was lovely at first, (by what I think was a new trainee), and turned brisk and efficient when taking our orders. We were served by at least 3 seperate waiters/staff....I think having a single staff member is actually a bit more personal....but hey......this was Express Lunch, Hahaha. I'll be back in a month or two for my Meat Wine & Co fix!

Follow-up  · Following up my previous review on Jan 6th, I admit I did not try the lamb shanks, and visited (again) due to my favourites. The bruschetta, calamari are standout starters and the steaks are always great, though the chicken kebab is very popular judging by the number of people ordering this. The pork baby back ribs are tender and tasty too. Views… Read more

They were quick to respond with reservation confirmation and dietary alternatives.

Having been before we expected great things, but I was actually disappointed. The ribs arrived cold, the Greek salad was drowning in dressing g and the lettuce was limp as a result. The mushroom sauce for the 1kg rib eye was also cold. We went for my son’s 21st birthday - the waitress actually asked if we were there for anything special and I… Read more

told her, but when after the meal she didn’t even ask if we wanted to order desert. I very much doubt that we will be back, not with the choices available in the vicinity

The meat was so tender and the service so friendly. They made our day. But the wine we selected was not so great.

This restaurant is A1. Three courses and a glass of wine for $49 Monday to Friday for lunch. Can't help but have the Szechuan Calamari, the ribs and the sticky date pudding every time. But the menu is varied. They specialise in steak rump, rib eye, fillet. Staff are always so friendly too. Our go to place now for special occasions.

We had a really lovely dining experience. Attended as part of our red balloon dining experience for my partners birthday. The food was delicious. They accommodated our baby providing a pram friendly space. Staff went above and beyond. The area the restaurants located was beautiful reminds you of being in a mini city with night lights, people and water. Show details

Fantastic food, Wonderful staff – Went to the Canberra restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. Was greeted by friendly staff and shown to a table. The restaurant is dimly lit but there is a pencil spotlight that shines on your table but not at you. Staff were very polite and friendly through out meal. My wife’s steak was cooked to perfection and one of the best pieces of steak I… Read more

have seen. I had one of the BBQ skewers which was juicy, flavoursome and tender. Yes it was expensive but went in with that knowledge so was not surprised by the price. And for the quality of experience, well worth the price. A special call out to Rebitha our waitress (hope I have spelt that right), her service, rapport and attentiveness was fantastic. Highly Recommended!

Bad service – we paid $160 for a 400g steak that was recommended by a waitress, it is over priced . Make sure you understand the steak price on the menu when ordering since the price is not clearly listed on the menu . A disappointed experience.

Almost embarrassed, thoroughly enjoyed it! – Today was my birthday (undisclosed age) and my lovely niece arranged a gift voucher for me and my wife. Nestled in amongst the high rise at Barangaroo, with a wonderful view of Darling Harbour, Maritime Museum etc. The Meat and Wine Co, is a standout for all the good reasons. The view is exceptional, the service is personal and unobtrusive (Just… Read more

the way I like it), and the food is....well what can I say? Just wonderful. We shared a calamari entree...and wondered how the talented chefs got the squid so tender, with a crisp batter, served with pickled cucumber and a spicy sweet chilli dipping sauce. Next was the rump steak. This is my favourite, though the chicken kebab and pork ribs are great too. Paired with the house red, a shiraz, it was a perfect lunch. The decor is definitely up-market, modern with a touch of nautical themes. No wonder this restaurant was packed for lunch today! (Monday). My wife, let slip, (to the waiter) that it was my birthday. At around 1:30pm, at the height of the lunch service, our waiter ferried a beautiful slice of cake, adorned with a sparkler, whilst singing Happy Birthday....(cringe)...LOL.

Great meal, great service – Have walked past the Meat and Wine Co Southbank 1000 times but never stopped in. We finally decided to dine there and were very happy. The food was fantastic, cooked perfectly and Gavin would have to be one of the best waiters we have met in a long while. Genuine, friendly and offered some great suggestions for a wine pairing. Show details

So good, I went twice in two days – Set back, yet unobstructed Harbour views greet you as you enter the upstairs dining room. You are entering the rarified world of fine dining in Sydney's Barangaroo distirct. Meat and Co have found a marvelous location, near the base of Sydney's Crown Casino. The decor exudes contemporary nautical, dark timbers yet expansive light from the Harbour.… Read more

The ambience is modern upmarket, the service is excellent, and the food......well the menu says it all. Whilst certainly not a daily splurge, it deserves multiple visits to sample the wide range of fare. I was invited yesterday by my friends to join them for a post covid catch-up. It's been a while since we all saw each other. Our party of six opted for the restaurant's Lunch Express menu. Two courses $42 or three courses for $49, each includes one drink of your choice. From the entree list we ordered bruschetta, calamari, roast belly pork......I must admit, each one of these, was a solid five star starter. You will enjoy them. Bold statement, but I will stand by it. The bruschetta was covered in what I think, was a whipped Buffalo mozzarella, adorned with lightly dressed cherry tomatoes and fresh basil......heaven. The calamari was a surprise.....no spindly legs here, but thick and juicy fresh squid tube chunks, in a delightful crust served with lemon and a dipping sauce....Wow! The roast belly pork, sticky and tender, slow roasted pork, just the way you imagined it to be, perfectly marinated and inviting to you palate. For mains we had Rump steak with your choice, chips, whipped mash, or salad, this was excellent. Described as 250g 150day grain fed grilled to perfection with a marble score 2+. You can believe it. Skewered Portugese Chicken with caramalised oinion, and you choice again of aforementioned sides. This was the literal standout, as it is served on a vertical hanging skewer with your sides residing below. Certainly a very popular dish judging by the other diners also enjoying this. BBQ pork ribs, slow cooked, and char-grilled finish in a smoky BBQ basting marinade. Faultless. Steak Tagliata, char-grilled steak (sliced), slow-roasted tomato, shaved Parmesan, wild rocket and chimichurri. This was my own choice and personally, I thought the chimichurri could've been a little more bold, however, the steak was true to the cuisine and was as good as you'd get anywhere in Buenos Aires. Poke Bowl......I'm not a fan, but my colleague demolished her dish. We each had a drink which was included, Pironi, Heinekein, Coke, Juices, and House wines which I can recommend the red....so delicious. I was so impressed, that I brought some overseas guests today, and again enjoyed the great atmosphere, impeccable service, wonderful views, and of course the food. Congratulations to Meat and Co, you've got a winner here.
