The Other Side Landscapes
Very disappointed
The Other Side Landscapes were engaged to build a retaining wall for us before the builder could start building our new home.
We were very disappointed with the quality of work and how much longer the job took to what we were quoted. After being built the wall was leaking and this indicated more so after the bricks were cleaned on the house. So, they had to come back and redo all the waterproofing at the back of the wall.
Here is the photo showing how it was left when they finished the job second time around.

Adrian,
It is a shame you have misrepresented the true facts....
Read more I was never happy with the works on the retaining wall and had sent multiple emails to your staff about the quality of work that was done and that the wall was leaking muddy water through the mortar and requested a site meeting but the emails were just ignored. Hence, I did not pay the final Invoices. It wasn't until you threatened me 3 months later with legal action for non-payment of those invoices that anything happened. I sent you and your solicitor all the emails I had previously sent your staff with updated photos of the acid used to clean the house bricks seeping through the wall. We then finally had a site meeting to discuss further action. And yes, you came back to rectify the problem which I told you was there months before but was ignored. And during the works storm water pipes on the property were broken and pulled up. Not to mention the excavator was rolled over and needed a crane to pick it up. And what professional company would leave the wall looking like the attached picture for their clients? Did I pay for the works? Yes, I did because I had no choice as I needed the engineers certification to get an occupancy certificate to live in the house. All this said I am still waiting for feedback from my email dated 2/8/2019, over 3 months ago regarding the height of the wall as I believe you are one row short. So, if you really stand by your work how about responding to my email from 3 months ago which I resent to you on Friday.Adrian S.The Other Side Landscapes
Steve,
Since your last comment above we have been in contact with you by phone to which you advised that the wall was dirty and we attended immediately and pressure washed the wall clean....
Read more For clarity the wall was initially complede and final invoice was issue to you in November 2018. we then attended site at least 4-5 times each time addressing concerns and issues raised by yourself. It was then in August 2019 after you made final payment that you stated that you believed the wall we had installed was too low, 9 months after the wall was installed and the blocks were core filled. You have since stated that you would be happy to pay for the wall to be raised. We would be more than happy to quote you to rasie the height of the wall 100mm.Excellent job
Have used Other Side for complete lawn replacement and later maintenance coring top dressing etc. Both times prompt excellent service and thoroughly good work. Pleasant helpful and professional staff. Highly recommended.

Highly unprofessional
This company took 6 months to complete what should have been a 3 month job. They made mistake after mistake (some of them serious) because of the inexperienced guy in charge. Their staff would fail to turn up day after day...and when they did, one guy spent most of his time on site on his phone. After a government agency was called in, they acknowleged problems brought about by their actions and promised to rectify them only to reneg. I wouldn't recommend this firm. Use them at your own risk.

Susy,
It is disspointing that you have chosen to misrepresent the facts in this way. To be clear:...
Read more 1. You provided a landscape plan and a detailed scope of works. 2. We provided a clear and detailed quotation which you accepted. 3. We then entered into a contract to install the landscaping in accordance with the Home Building Act of NSW . 4. When it came to install the landscape we brought to your attention that the plan was deficient in detail and if we were to install a gravel path as per the provided plan the gravel path would wash away. 5. We advised on site verbally and then with a follow up email, that the gravel would wash away if the gradient of the path was greater than 1:10. We advised that you needed to add steps into the path to prevent the erosion of the gravel. 6. You refused to act on our advice and insisted that we pay for the steps, which we were unfortunately unable to do free of charge as they were not in the contract, on the provided plan or within the detailed scope of works that you provided. 7. We provided you a price to install the required steps and you chose not accept the variation for additional costs. 8. A short time later we recieved notification from the NSW Department of Fair trading that you had made a complaint, stating that the gravel path had washed away in the rain. 9. We then presented the NSW Department of Fair Trading the email trail in which the above points were outlined in communication to yourself. 10. The NSW Department of Fair Trading reviewed the email trail and promptly dismissed your complaint. We recognise that building and construction works do not always go to plan, that sometimes delays occur due to unforseen circumstances, errors cana and do occur and changes need to be made. It is our company policy to immediately address concerns raised by clients, correct errors as quickly as possible and to communicate clearly to ensure issues are promptly resolved. We completed the works with final sign off and payment in full on completion in August 2015. We continue remain more than happy to discuss and address any of your concerns about our work if and as they arise into the future. We stand by the quality of our work and we have done so since we commenced trading in 2003.Find out how The Other Side Landscapes compares to other Gardening & Landscaping

Absolutely Amazing Service
Engaging eco design and The otherside landscapes to do all our landscaping work was the best decision we made for The building of our home.
The entire process from design, estimating, planning, construction, and completion was easily the most rewarding experience throughout our entire building process. We had our hands held through the design and were provided with many artist impressions so we could see what it would end like.
They communicated professionally throughout the entire process and We cannot fault them for anything in this area. We are about to engage them again to do more work and couldn't recommend these guys enough.
