Poor security guard actions – Went to the sky bar that was closing at 10.30pm. We (13 people) walked from south bank to have a look at the casino and sky bar. On arrival I was told the sky bar is closed, time was 9.40 pm. I showed the security guard the opening times on my phone and she said it was not the “star” site. they want”. I responded with “ no need to get aggressive but it would be good to know the bar is shut and maybe the website needs to be changed”. I then returned and showed the security guard the “Star” web site with opening and the note “closing soon at 10.30.” 15 minutes later I was refused entry to the casino for simply pointing out that the web site was some what misleading. I am retired and have never been treated like this.

Cannot express my amazement at the treatment from this organisation, all I can say is ask the young person behind the sky bar how she was treated by some old guy on 7/1/25 at 9.40 or so.

My view is some security guards may need better training and manners.

Don't expect a quick drink – I went on The Star Deck in Brisbane on Sunday, 3rd November 2024 with a friend. We decided to get a drink and watch the sunset. decided to join them. It was 6pm by the time we had our drinks, and could finally sit down to watch the sun go down. This place definitely needs more bars, and more staff per bar. It would help, if there was a section just for "quick drinks" (e.g. a glass of beer or wine) and one for cocktails, which take a significant time to prepare. The deck itself is nice, and worth while a visit, but please, go and have a pre-drink elsewhere, so that you don't waste your time standing in line endlessly. Personally, I will most certainly avoid this place for a drink in future, until this catastrophic lack of bar service has been rectified.
