Tiger JAX-S Series

Disappointing. The previous model lasted over 10 years. This model failed after only three years of very occasional use. It still looks new, but it's dead.
Purchased in at Bing Lee Online store for $315.
Bought this model two weeks ago, used a few times and the cooking result is not much difference compare with my existing Panasonic 5 cup rice cooker, but Tiger rice cooker is 5 times expensive than Panasonic and the warranty only have 12 months, not worth to buy it.
Perfect rice every time – Love my Tiger rice cooker, it's so versatile. You can cook a meal in the steamer and rice in the pot. This is my most used kitchen accessory. The best part is you can cook the rice and vegetables together and it doesn't go all mushy. It's not the cheapest rice cooker but in my opinion it's worth every cent.
Purchased in at Bing Lee Online store for $309.
Unreliable, slow cooker – This Tiger rice cooker takes a good 30+ mins longer to cook your rice, and the unit I bought online from Betta Home Living leaves me guessing as to whether the rice will be cooked well or be left soggy/half-cooked (which happens roughly 25% of the time). Tiger & Betta tell me there is nothing wrong with the unit, and as it has just come out of warranty (12 months) I have very little options for a replacement/refund. This is very disappointing given that these expensive products are touted to last for at least 25 years!
Do yourselves a favour, avoid the stress and the hassle and just get a $20 unit that will cook your rice much faster more reliably.
Purchased in at Betta Home Living for $290.
Best Rice Cooker Ever! – This is the best electric rice cooker I have ever owned. Yes, it is bit more expensive than the ones I have been buying for 20 years. I am a rice cooker junky. It cooks rice the way it should be. Fluffy and not sticky yet the individual Basmati grains are soft and moist. Same with Jasmine: less fluffy than Basmati but beautifully soft and semi sticky but without the starch sticking on utensils and cutlery.
Before I get too carried away with the quality of the product and its cooking ability, let's wait and see how this beautiful product will fare in long term.
