Doesn’t work – Unit gets hot but doesn’t steam Not satisfied as unit does not steam. Does not replace iron It is much easier to get an iron out to do any ironing

It only works for simple clothes – I feel it only works for simple clothes without curve or designed foldings. It is dangerous and not easy for dresses with some design details. 1.The steamer does not have auto or manual temperature adjustment function. It consume the water very quickly. 2. The hot water is dripping and made blister on my thigh! 3. It is very difficult to iron… Read more

the edge of the dress even I used kitchen mitten I could still feel it would burn my hand. 4. It does not work with one hand pull if the dress with designed foldings. I hope I have 3 arms to use this bad designed product. 5. the poles is too short for women's dress.

In general, it is not a good replacement of traditional stream iron.

It is most unsafe product I have ever owned.

Steaming over this steamer – Has the appearance of a garment steamer but is a shirt holder at best. Save your money and garbage bin space. - The stand attachments are flimsy and does not lock into the base of the unit - The hose is too rigid making it difficult use - Doesn’t perform its primary function i.e. produce steam  Show details

I actually like this Steamer – Use warm or hot water in the tank. Always keep Thank upright. Do not leave the water in he tank when through. When doing the bottom place your garmet on a cloth sofa or the bed to do the bottom and this will keep you from burning your fingers. Also make sure you always have the hose and top stored up right. I got a good deal from someone who didn’t use it. I will get another when it goes out.  Show details

Excellent – Well I must be doing something wrong because I love my Tobi! I have had it for 3 years and it just died so I immediately ordered a new one. I actually enjoy ironing now. I find it very quick and easy. Many of the reviews are very negative but I cant see why? FYI: when filling the water tank use hot water. This seems to help with not leaving water… Read more

marks which can happen with cold water ( quicker to heat to steam). Also always hang the nozzle back up as soon as you finish ironing that item, this helps keep the hose clear and allows the steam to flow properly! Another tip for hems of jeans etc - I iron next to the couch and lay the cuffs on the back of the couch and iron it like an ironing board thus avoiding scorches. Some material is better when ironed from the inside too. And finally always empty Tobi of water, never let it sit around with water in the tank or it will clog the pipes. I love my Tobi! Love everything about Tobi The stand is a little flimsy

I really love my Tobi Steam Cleaner – I have just purchased the Tobi Steam Cleaner and find it works really well for me. I admit the stand is not the best to iron on but I hang my clothes on an indoor line and find that works good. I hang my clothes straight from the washing machine onto coat hangers and tend to steam the clothes while still damp or wet, then leave them on my inside… Read more ·  1

line to dry or hang them back out in the sun for a little while. I find it cuts down quite a bit of my time that it use to take me to iron. It tends to iron some fabrics a bit better than others, but overall if you are not too fusy I am normally happy with the results from all my washing. I have only used cold water in my tobi, I think you tend to get water running from it if you don't hold the maching head in a vertical position, which is mentioned in the instructions. As for steam burning, I treat it like an iron, 'it's hot', so you make sure you handle it with care and keep your body parts away from it. I give this machine a 'A plus' and am extreamly happy with it.

Chris - Perth Western Australia A good little machine, cuts ironing time down quite a lot, portable, easy and fun to use, very happy with it.

A piece of garbage – Pros : Nothing ! Cons : everything It does not iron anything properly. You have to use the proper iron after using. The tubes bent then gets blocked It releases white powder like rust after couole of months which eventually blocked dll the pipes. Such a waste of money. The most useless thing i ever purchased online – Its completely useless. I am better off ironing my clothes with an iron. The steam is not enough to iron the clothes properly. You need to refill the container again and again. I tried to use but the wrinkles don't go easily. Took me 4 times more than normal ironing to get the wrinkles out but still wasn't worth the time and money i spent it. It's… Read more

Worse than a one star – Bought in October 2013; only used three times due to poor handling, made my wrist ache, burnt my fingers, used up so much water and worst of all leaked constantly. Decided to freshen the curtains, brought out the Tobin and despite coming on, not heating up. Thought it had a 2yr warranty, sent an email to Thames, no warranty, no repairs, no longer… Read more

Do not buy Tobi steamer ever – Absolutely useless, this thing leaks. How are you supposed to iron holding it only vertically?? Of course you need to go sideways too and that's when it starts leaking like crazy. The hose is not flexible and you continuously struggle to turn it around. it is a nightmare. To use it. What a waste of money. very hard and awkward to use, the hose is not flexible and water leaks.

Very cheap – This is the worst steamer I have ever used. Inconsistent steam, especially when trying to steam the bottoms of things. Takes forever to steam anything and it doesn't even get the creases out properly. It leaks from the container and just ends up making your garments and your floor damp. leaks, doesn't work properly, slow, inefficient Show details

Starting to like it - the more I use it!! – I bought this a couple of years ago and didn't think too much of the product - poor steam, dripping, etc. I have just started using again in last six months and haven't looked back. it helps to watch the instructional dvd on the correct technique!! i persevered with it and now am amazed at how much of my ironing time is cut down. it used to take… Read more

me a couple of hours to iron school uniforms, work uniforms each week - everything from cotton blends to polyester - now i am done in under an hour. I have to go through the cleansing process every few weeks as i don't use demineralised water and the inside gets clogged up and hardly any steam comes out. I usually starch when i iron, but don't for the steamer so the difference in 'look' is that flat hard pressed look. I am fine with this as they are on our bodies and get crushed as soon as we move anyway - they still look 'ironed' and neat. Its great for girls frilly dresses and also for my nice going out dresses. I'm starting to like it more. cuts my ironing time in half. easy to use. its wonderful to see the creases magicaly drop away in some fabrics. takes a while to perfect. i still burn my fingers as the steam is so hot and so it doesn't steam the very bottoms of the garments very well. Tobi Leaking Steamer – Bought 2 of these units and very very disappointed. Constant leaking from underneath. Fill the container and within 20 seconds all over the floor. Both leak so not a one off. Total waste of my money. I was very keen to use this product as it seemed a great product but because of the constant water leakage means we cannot use them. Looking to through them both in the bin. Constant leaking on both units

Terrible – This machine does not do what it is supposed to. I bought a cheap travel version in Paris 15 years ago and although it clapped out after a year, it was 50 times more effective and 1/3 the price of this heap of junk! does not work like they show it in the ad........sitting dormant in the garage! Waste of money!

Terrible – Very disappointed in this item. I hate ironing & thought this looked a better way. Boy, was I wrong! It's awkward to use and very inefficient. All fabrics still looked wrinkled and often ended up with water spots on them. As for freshening the clothes and removing odours, it doesn't. Smokey clothes still smelt the same. Don't waste your money.… Read more

Looks professional. Doesn't do what it's supposed to. Awkward to use. Easy to burn yourself with the steam.

If you like damp clothes this is for you – Forget those crisp pressed shirts they advertise. Or the jet of steam. It's dribbles of hot water all over the place. A gurgling noise as condensation falls back down the hose. No consistency of steam out of the head. A flimsy and short frame. You may as well hold your shirt over the kettle in the kitchen...and get a cup of tea or coffee at the same time. Small enough to fit in the bin. They put it on sale.

Do people get Paid to write positive reviews?! Tobi steamer is pathetic! – Bought the Tobi steamer and does not do as stated in the ads. Takes a lot longer than ironing the garment and uses much more water than a normal steam iron. Rip off so please don't waste you money on this. Looks professional and seems to work like a charm...... ...until u buy it and it looks cheap, flimsy and ... Oh yeh.... Doesn't even work properly! Everything about this product is a con! I wish i had known of this site before buying.

Stick to your iron – Terrible product. Stand won't extend properly so hose is constantly kinked which results in large wet patches on anything I try and steam. Uses heaps of water and the amount of steam it generates waxes and wanes as you use it. Hopeless product, very disappointed with it and wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Flimsy, ineffective

bottom and you have to glide the steamer over the clothes VERY slowly to get any wrinkles out. Because you have to pull the clothes from the bottom to make the fabric taut when you steam, its difficult to get to the bottom of the item of clothing without burning your fingers.

Bad – I have reverted to my iron and ironing board. Have not used the Tobi for clothing for several months now as I rarely need to press garments that cannot be ironed. Mainly used for sterilising mattresses and pillows these days. Handy for pressing jackets, trousers, evening gowns etc that otherwise show ironing marks or can't be ironed at all. Use on… Read more

mattresses and pillows to sterilise them. Cumbersome to set up and use. Always burning myself as you need to hold garment taut. Unsuitable for cotton garments such as shirts as they still looked crushed afterwards. Does not "clean" as such, only presses slightly.

Terrible – This product is complete rubbish, and certainly doesn't do what the advertising claims. Good – A very good invention. Has saved me a lot of time. When I use it I sit low down in an office chair with wheels, and most of the time I put the steamer inside the clothes and then sweep downwards. As for collars I put a coaster underneath the collar and then use the steamer somewhat like an iron. I would recommend buying some garden gloves from the… Read more

hardware store (cost ~$3). Recommend to air the room after use or put the airconditioner on because the room does get quite humid. I use filtered water to prevent clogging which is much cheaper than using distilled water. Able to take away wrinkles with ease. Is fun to use. Has more than halved my ironing time. Base has wheels so it can be moved around easily. Would like the steamer to have an on-off trigger, instead of being on all the time. Should include some gloves to prevent your hands getting scalded.

OK – I think too much water is coming from the reservior to the heating element. When the element/internal tank is completely empty and the first new tank of water goes in, then I get about 1 minute of steam, then I think too much water flows in and kills the heating process - flooding the engine, so to speak. This is a great machine - worked… Read more

Terrible – i spent 20 min ironing a shirt and didn't remove wrinkles. It's a very pricy product and most of all, it doesn't function like an iron should be. Total rubbish. Excellent – I use a glove whilst holding the garment that way I don't get burnt. It's easier to put the steamer inside the garment so the steam is always rising up through the fabric.
