My Go Pro 620 tomtom logo flashes continually when not in use
Sorry but I haven't had that problem. When mine was in the car & turned on to navigate it kept on going out & starting up again - called 'rebooting' I would suggest to contact them, they may take awhile to reply tho. But do yourself a favour & give that device the flick. You can download the app on your mobile phone free!
My Go 620 doesn't stay on after I turn car off and then keeps wanting to restart. The internal battery holds voltage. Online support doesn't want to know me.
The internal battery on all TomToms are disgusting, they only last a few months then will not hold the charge. Try updating the unit on your computer & keep on insisting help from the online support which is all overseas, they will eventually reply to you. I eventually gave up after sending my TomTom away 4 times for repairs at my cost & purchased a 8"Garmin.
Thanks Toncar. I measured the internal battery and it was up to voltage. I will renew it as it may not be able to maintain the current draw. Funny thing though, my first one failed after I left it on the dash board. I might have damaged it by overheating it.

When will tom tom update the maps so the Gwydir Highway from south grafton to inverell shows it as the fastest route instead of showing that it is closed. The road has not been closed in over 12 months but every morning it shows it as being closed but later in the afternoon and night it shows it as open. I have been advising tom tom for over 12 months that the road is open 24 hours a day. The trouble is you can talk to anyone, I think the response by email is done by a human robot that doesn't have SMH common sense
delete recent destination - STOP working ,despite few reboots.What to do ?
despite deleting last destination + reboot GO620 - GPS still inform how to drive to /last destination don't exist any more.How to stop this nuisance ?

Don't buy a tom tom, no support in Australia they don't give a stuff about us, 77% negative reviews tell you to stay away from them

Does the Tomtom go 520 have lifetime free speed camera updates?
The display is gone and won't recharge or show display.np power
My advise is, try put in car charger and don’t turn on, chances it will work. I have the same go 520 series and suddenly 2 weeks ago it didnt work so i used my phone gps. Thankfully last week it worked again. Tom tom doesnt make gps anymore and the quality of 520 Not as near as the tomtom go 930 i bough in 2010. It still works but cant get free map update so bough this 520 nearly 3 yrs ago.

I have the Start 52 which is a base model. It has free map updates but not free speed cam updates. I suggest not using a finger to operate the menus but use a rubber based stylus
Supposedly map updates for life, which everyone took for the life of the device, but that is all crap. I had an older machine that still worked perfectly well and Tom Tom sent out a notice that it would no longer support that device with map updates, their definition of maps for life varies considerably from common sense. The 520 will alert you if you have it turned on it the settings. Usually around 5kms over the speed limit.

My Tom Tom Go 520 has just died on a 40degC day in Australia. Is heat a problem with these devices?
I have not had a problem with heat. But could not recommend tomtom as there is no help when youhave a problem, in fact, my problem was caused by tomtom and could not get any help. I purchase a garim to replace the tomtom, as they have a phone service in Australua.
Mine died last Sunday (29thNov20)about 11am(mid 30's) after stopping car for just 10 minutes.........working immediately before .....then would not restart in car .......nor on TomTom My Drive Connect when I got home.............only 18 months old.........support lacking....logged email request.......still no answer. ..........appears to be a common problem with 520 short life..........failure to restart.......TomTom should recall product...replace faulty units ............12 months warranty...........does say a lot.............sounds like they don't have confidence in their own product.......(much like many others)

Got a response via email to TomTom....it looked like real people responding. It got flicked about a bit and finally I got the following: Thank you for contacting TomTom Customer Support My name is Kuldeep and I will be working with you to resolve your query on your GO 520 device not turning on.
Mr. Keene, we are sorry to hear that your device is not turning on and I am glad that you contacted us.
I am unsure if you have tried to reset your device, however, I will request you to follow these troubleshooting steps:
1. Connect your device to the computer or power source for 2-3 hours for charging. 2. Please turn off your device by pressing and holding the power button. 3. once the device is switched off. Press and hold the power button again till the time you hear a loud drum sound on the device, release your finger as soon as you hear the drum sound. 4. This process may take approximately 50 seconds for you to hear the drum sound.
Following the above reset procedure should help you get this issue resolved.

Now before getting this advice, late yesterday, I turned on my car and my TomTom came to life!!!!!.....so I have not tried the reset... which I had basically tried before.................but only held on for 15-20 seconds......not the 50........ I responded to TomTom representative to that effect..........as mine is now working fine.....it might help...if not send an email and they will respond .

My Tom Tom has come good also after sitting unpowered for 48 hours. Thanks for the reset info. Now I’ll know what to do next time.
I find it totally frustrating , unable to load updates ( can’t use computer have to use wifi ) freezes . I have bought a Garmin lot less frustration . I don’t recommend tom tom at all
Why would my TomYom die when stored for an extended period.
My speed camera alert is not working . How can this be corrected. Never had a problem with my old tom tom and prior to updating the 620 . The speed alert is working. I have the Australian map. VERY frustrating. Jill
I have had this problem with my 520 after some updates. I found that doing a drum roll reboot afterwards brought the speed cameras back on line
Why is it redirecting me home?
Tomtom go 520 wouldn't turn on. Got new battery. Still going through the startup then the bar across the bottom, gets 1/4 of the way then goes to the screen with the red X. Ok so I try the hard reset. On the black and white page, seems the date is 1/1/1970!!!! what the! Anyway I try the 3 on button presses but all that happened was It went to start screen. Now it won't turn off at all. Just keeps going round the same senerio

try to download Australia map to replace the UK map but stopped when it reached 99 percent. I have plenty internal storage

Anyone else finding the 520 has a mind of its own , now wont show street level and freezes and sometimes to even download update have to reboot a dozen times because of freezing . I don’t have any trouble with a Navman I bought in place of a no updates available for a One
Do not expect anything from TomTom anymore. TomTom is dead, Even hard to find anyone to contact with. Their new contract with Hauwei might save them, but I really doubt about it. I returned my TomTom, they could not even do a basic accounting for refunds, let alone updating software and technical stuffs. After long time, I applied via PayPal to get my money back.
