Suited to those who need mobility within a reasonably small area – I bought this monitor so I could carry out outside chores or projects while being able to monitor our sleeping baby. We have a standard town block and the range of the monitor was good enough to reach the back of the block. However our holiday house is a two story town house and there with the child upstairs and the other handset downstairs it… Read more

would often loose connection, so perhaps is not suited to two story structures? portable and small sometimes difficult to 'sync' does not seem to work well in two story house

Not bad overall – You can actually buy a replacement battery (called MB942) from battery world or other online battery shops. Overall this montior is good but has some annoying features. If you turn off the parent unit then the baby unit turns itself off too, which means you end up leaving it on 24/7 because it is too much fuss to turn both on again. Also, because… Read more

I was sleeping in the same room as the baby I found the night light to be too bright for me to sleep with, I guess a baby would be fine with it though. However the reception is very clear, there are 8 channels to choose from, and the rechargeable and portable baby unit comes in very handy. Crystal clear reception, 8 channels, portable parent unit Auto turn-off function of the baby unit, night light too bright

Excellent – I have used this with all 3 kids and been really happy with it. I loved having the clip on receiver which meant I could do some gardening while the baby slept and I was able to hear when they woke. The night light gives off a soft light which means you don't need to turn on the room nights during the nights when you get up to feed or check on… Read more ·  1

the baby. The room temperature gauge was also a very handy feature as it helped to determine if the room needed heating or cooling and also how to dress and wrap the baby for a comfortable sleep. Measures room temperature, night light, 2 channel frequencies, clip on receiver Some static but usually eases when switch to other channel

Terrible – Our unit continually gives loud, terrible feedback. So much to the point that we can only use it as a room temperature display, not a baby monitor (because we have to have it on mute the whole time). We bought this so that when we go away on conferences and camping we can be certain our baby is safe in the cabin. Do you think it worked outside… Read more

the cabin??? NO!!!!

DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT. ITS TERRIBLE!!!! Nursery Temperature display. Terrible range and feedback

Bad – The monitor does its job, and is quite sensitive to even the quietest noises made by baby. However the Cons greatly outweigh the Pros, especially when it comes to interference. We regret getting this monitor (it was a gift) and rarely use it these days. Luckily for us our baby is an excellent sleeper and rarely wakes up over night. My verdict if… Read more

you are looking for a baby monitor - look elsewhere. The digital temperature display is handy, as we can tell at a glance if baby's room is too hot or cold - especially at night. It seems quite fragile. The unit seems to lose its charge quickly, so it basically needs to be on the charger at all times. Worst of all though is the interference and signal drop out. Our baby has been woken up countless times when the signal is lost and the base unit lights up like a Christmas tree. We have nights when we have to turn the unit off because the interference is unbearable. It has multiple channels, but once the static starts, it seems to occur on every channel.

Bad – Was good when it worked but I wouldn't buy it again due to it only lasting a very short period of time. Temperature, Night Light, Picked up great sound. Was a bit static and we only had it five weeks and it stopped working, had the baby unit replaced but it did the same thing.

Terrible – The product worked fine but because of the static we took it back, I only wanted to hear my baby not noisy static that kept me awake at night. Temperature, range and portable parent unit. We got constant static, which at night when you are trying to get some much needed sleep is not good. Aparently, we had too many devices in our house that were causing interference.

Good – The only problem I have had with the Tomy Premier Advance baby Monitor is the problem with the static. It seems to occur every few weeks. We have checked it out completely and can't find a reason for it.It doesn't seem to happen in change of weather or anything like that so it has us completely puzzled. When it is working it is fantastic.Very simple… Read more

to use.You can have it on continuous sound or set it so the only noise you hear through the parent monitor is when the baby makes a noise instead of constant streaming. The temperature display is invaluable. We live in a very warm climate so I can keep an eye on it and adjust the air con as needed.Nursery temperatures need to be watched as little babies cannot regulate their own body temperatures very well.Overall a great monitor. Temperature display. The way it lights up.Very portable and clear. Every few weeks I get continuous static where all the lights are activated and basically it doesn't work.Any sounds coming through are completely drowned out by the static. After a few days it seems to come good again.

Bad – This was my first moniter and initially it was great but then after a couple of months it started making 'train sounds' (choo choo sound like a train coming through the door) which would wake me up more often than my son would. Would pick up a lot of static and after about 4 hrs the parent base went flat. When I returned it I was told that they… Read more

had had a number of returns for similar problems. Did really like the fact you could turn the night light on from the parent unit - something more monitors should have. Can turn night light on using Parent unit which was extremely handy. Rechargable parent unit. Nice looking. Picked up heaps of static. Parent unit lost charge quickly.

Excellent – Fabulous monitor, and we have looked for another one with the same feature and can't find one. So even though the battery won't charge and we havent been able to fix it - we would still get another one as there doesn't seem to be one as good. We love the temp display on both units (most other monitors only have the temp on the baby unit), and how… Read more

it only starts to transmit when the baby starts to make noise. The battery/charger has been an issue for us. We did manage to find a replacement battery from Battery World - but this hasn't solved the problem - perhaps the battery isn't compatible?? We would happily buy another one but can't find them anywhere.

Good – Not cheap, but a great monitor. Have also used Roger Armstrong Easy Sleep which stopped working after less than a year and was very crackly. Sound clarity is great, knowing the room temperature is excellent and the ability to talk into the parent unit is handy Nothing really

Good – It's a great monitor, really really like the temperature display (something that a lot of people with other monitors comment on too as they would have liked it on theirs) as bubs room is usually a couple of degrees warmer than ours. We use the 2 way communication to talk to each other when in bub's room, as well live in a split level house and… Read more

couldn't hear each other at that distance. We certainly don't get 300m range from the unit, but I suppose that's the price we pay for having so many wireless devices such as modems, portable phones and mobile phones in the house. Temperature display, lights to indicate intensity of sound (ie how loud bub is crying), night light, 2 way communication. The parent unit is not the most stable when you stand it up without the charging unit. Ours has fallen over so many times because of this which makes me wonder how long it will last (though it hasn't been affected so far). Recently it has started to started to lose contact with the baby unit regularly which means it lights up while it searches for the signal (meaning we get woken up by the unit randomly lighting up throughout the night).

Bad – The interference problems are forcing us to buy another model for our next baby as we just can't trust this one any more. Temperature display & visual sound indicators are good. Is quite fragile (the screen cover comes off all the time). The battery on the parent unit doesn't seem to last all that long (and you can't buy replacements in… Read more

Australia!). But as others have said the worst aspect is the terrible spouts of interference and lost signal. Many times it will only work when in the dock, which is kinda pointless unless your in bed.

Excellent – We bought this monitor new off Ebay for $85 and it's the best money we've spent. The temperature feature is excellent, so that you can adjust the nursery temp accordingly. The nightlight is nice and bright and useful when negotiating toys on the floor at night! The lights which inidcate the intensity of sound being picked up through the monitor is… Read more

Good – This is a fantastic baby monitor. The main features are:- 1. Portable parent unit with recharging cradle (no changing batteries); 2. Portable baby unit which takes 4 AA batteries which can remain in the unit when plugged into mains power and do not need to be rechargeable. Particularly handy if baby falls asleep somewhere other than the… Read more

nursery and you don't want to move them)

3. Displays temperature on both units - the temperature is where the baby unit is.

4. Has a night light

5. Is sound activated saving valuable power - parent unit can be carried around all day without needing to be charged

6. Multiple channels - no interference

This is an awesome unit. The only thing it is missing is a vibration alert which would be handy if you are in a loud environment. I believe this feature is available on the next model but I don't know where you can buy it.

It has clear sound, no interference or white noise. It is not affected by all the electrical things in the house such as the TV, DVD etc, wireless modem or walkabout phones.

It is 100% portable. I pack it up in my nappy bag if going to the in-laws or a friend's place.

It has a light meter which indicates the level of sound. 8 lights in a semi circle starting green and going to red. If you can't hear the monitor (like when you're having a shower) you can see it and know whether bub is just having a grizzle or really screaming.

I can't recommend this unit enough. It has everything you need except the vibration feature and, in reality, in our household that feature is rarely, if at all, desired.

10 out of 10 from me. Everything! No vibration feature

Excellent – Love this monitor. We bought another one on ebay for our second baby but can't use it as they interfere with each other and make lots of static noise, so now I'm trying to decide what other brand to buy and am very disappointed we can't have two of these in the house! Definitely recommend it. Love the temperature display being on parent & baby… Read more

unit, very clear sound and night light. We haven't had any problems with this monitor and love that we can take the parent unit wherever we go; ie; washing line or garden while our little girl is sleeping. The battery on the parent unit doesn't last quite as long as we'd like when it's off the base unit.

Excellent – We have owned about 5 monitors over the years and this is our favourite. We love that we can see the temp in the baby's rooms thru our monitor esp in the middle of winter and also the middle of summer! But most of all love that we can chat to our boys thru the monitor even tho their room is at the other end of the house! This is so helpful when… Read more

they have a bad dream or something - we just chat to them and they go back to sleep without us getting out to bed! All the other features are also great. All round brilliant monitor with features I haven't seen anywhere else. Love the temp that shows on the parent monitor, and the 2 way commms. Actually we love everything about this monitor Can't find anything at all to complain about!
