Trek Dual Sport+

Not bad but expected better – Rides well. Throw rear wheel and gear cassette in bin. Cassette fills with debris blocking ratchet. Have never encountered this on a bike before. Have only ridden this bike medium use for 2 months.
Purchased for $999.
Best way to get to the city for work when commuting 20+ klms – I purchased this bike to ride to work, my commute time on public transport from the eastern suburbs of Melbourne is about 70 mins, riding this bike takes about the same time, there are several major hills along the way, and the electric bike smooths all of these out, I feel like I have done a moderate walk instead of a 70 minute sprint, because it's moderate exercise I use it more often than my traditional bike to work. Only down side has been a creaky bottom bracket. Be aware that the bike assistance cuts out at 25 klm per hour, so if you wish to go faster than that you need to put in a fair bit of effort as the bike weighs over 20 kg's, so sticking to around 25 klms seems to work the best. If your commute is less than 20 klm's and mostly flat, I don't think it's worth getting an electric bike as you will be able to go faster on a normal bike. Overall very pleased with this bike, as I use it a lot to get around.
