07 speedy continues to perform – My 07 speedmaster never lets me down. It has just clocked over 50,000km and this thing starts first pop and delivers whenever I ask it to. A lot of people in my group and on adventure bikes (xt700, xtz 1200 ect) and I’m not left behind. I’ve heard people saying they lack power but for a 865cc in-line twin I think it performs extremely well. I have… Read more

done the heads and put new aftermarket pipes on it and it sounds better we all know theyr know for sounding like a sewing machine lol. But honestly this bike is comfy to ride, the riding position and bar height is all perfect for someone like me (176cm-76kg) and I could ride it all day. For the price of the bike and what you’re getting, this bike deserves more respect and appreciation than people give.

ITS A STINKER! – Ive owned this bike close to 8 or 9 years now. And probably 3 of which it sat in my carport not running a 4th i have spent trying to get it back in the road (currently). The triumph speedmaster 07 is a CURSED bike. Beggining it was fine. No problems then it started to just quit while driving. I still dont know why. The last time before i ended up… Read more

parking it, (it stranded me with a LONG push home). Then wouldnt start again. It sat a few years before i had the chance to get back to it. I started by cleaning the tank and removing the rust, new plugs. It was leaking fuel out of the carbs and into oil. Cleaned the carbs and changed the oil 5x atleast. decided to jet it on the 5th before taking it for repairs. I decided while i had it apart to remove the airbox for pods. Got it started and It was running ok. But now when i shift into gear it kills it wnd still leaking fuel. i decided after dicking with the clutch adjust to just yank the clutch and clean it.(Sticking plates?) While pulling it i followed Haynes and broke the clutch housing doing trying to remove the nut.. (helpful hint nevermind the manual. Hold the break tight and impact will whip it off in a sec.) so i finished repairing the clutch and tried starting it. No go. Pours fuel out of carbs still. With all this and all the little annoyances and there have been, too many to list once one thing is fixed something else goes wrong. A year working on the beast, i would NEVER recommend this model to anyone. Ive fixed the lighting and electrical. Removed the kickstand switch.

Best Bike I Ever Had – 3 Bikes in 3 Years and this one is the keeper, had others but was always wanting the DREAM BIKE. Triumph fan so I admit to being a bit biased, in its favor, but how could you not like it, the style and comfort are exquisite, Ride modes, traction control, Highway kit, includes Panniers with rails, comfort seat for rider and pillion, Screen, and… Read more

heated grips, make 200 kms riding in one go easy. Torquey and powerful, with second gear acceleration that is amazing, weight of the bike at 244 - 250 kg full make it easy to manouvre. Read the review in AMCN vol 67 Number 22 May 18 by noted and respected motorcyclist from the (long way around), Charlie Boorman, for a very indepth opinion, its that section, that confirmed the SPEEDMASTER was for me, and how right he was.

Outstanding – Rode a Yamaha Royal Star for years. Was looking for something lighter. Test rode a few and then my friend suggested to have a crack on his Speedmaster. WOW what a revelation. I was worried I couldn't keep up with the big boys. No problem there. Plenty of grunt from that sweet engine. Then through the twisties the big boys had trouble keeping up… Read more

with me. This thing is brilliant in the corners.

After that I went out and bought one and haven't looked back.

The best bike I have owned and I've had a few

I love riding it, but – I love my Speedmaster, its a great bike but Triumph could learn a lot from Harley Davidson when it comes to the quality of the finished product. Paint finish could be better, bolt holes in the rear guard not quite lining up, therefore the rear guard was skewed ever so slightly. This sounds picky but its a brand new bike, its a great bike to ride, lack of quality finish lets the Triumph name down

Great Bike- needs a few things to make it perfect! – I bought mine with 16,726 k's (10,393 miles) on her- but, she came with a OEM Roadster Quick Release Windshield and fresh oil for a competitive price (off season). During winter lay up, I had TOR Shorty's installed, along with black leather wrapped, lockable hardbags, Progressive front springs, a color matched chin spoiler and some other things.… Read more

The engine/transmission combo is very sweet- very light touch to change gears, clutch lever releases in the middle, and the exhaust sounds wonderful. The bike is very well balanced, and, the suspension firm, but, not stiff. Also, the brakes have good feel, although the fronts could have a little more initial bite. But, linear and very good touch- just like the throttle, which was also very responsive and linear from idle on. I find the bike very light and well balanced- easy to turn in with lots of lean angle, unlike most cruisers set up for light touring like mine.

The instruments are small, and, look somewhat low budget, but, the aftermarket can address that in the future, because, overall- the bike is like an Olympic gymnast, all skill, power and poise. It evokes the look of Triumphs from the late 1950's and '60s and the custom teardrop tank with matching seat are a nice touch. Switchgear on the handlebars are plastic, but, not as offensive as the speedometer and tachometer, which are barely legible, and, only seem to give an idea of what is really going on.

After reading all of the reviews, and, lurking in a variety of forums, I've found no issues that would prevent me from buying one- there are no known failures for this bike. But, swapping out the bulbous turn signals will happen right away, as they stand out too much, and, make an otherwise good looking bike look like a cartoon character.

I wanted a bike to commute with, ride with friends on the weekends, and, have the flexibility to take my wife or daughter out on occasion- this bike exceeds all of my desires from handling, braking and comfort. At 5' 10" and 180 Lbs with gear on, everything falls to hand, like a good pair of leather shoes. And, I can move around on the seat while riding on longer trips, which helps me to remain comfortable.

The firm suspension never bottoms out, but, never wallows either. The motor allows powering out of a turn, and, the broad rev range means that I'm always in the right gear. I can't say enough good about the hi flow exhaust from Triumph- the sound is beautiful- everywhere. I used to listen to music while riding, now, I just listen to the exhaust.

Highs:

* Elegant, custom, British Cruiser from mid 1960's, while having FI and modern reliability.

* Motor/Transmission package is art & mastery- providing hours of enjoyment alone.

* With Progressive front springs- better suspended & safer braking.

* Light, tossable with more lean angle than others in class.

Lows:

* Instruments look cheap and an afterthought.

* Stock exhaust is Singer sewing machine quiet- must be replaced to match bike's dynamics.

* Ergos: taller, long legged, or over 210 Lbs riders should test fit for comfort before buying.

Great mid sized bike – Bought a 2009 Speedmaster second hand with low klms. Had some after market accessories including pipes Kn filters and sports mirrors. Bloody hard to keep of this ride which has no nasty habits and is just a pleasure to ride. Love that fact that there is plenty of accessories that are easy together to get hold of. 2 of my mates have already gone out and bought Triumphs. Some lighting is a bit prdinary Show reply

Excellent – Would recommend the Speedmaster to anyone after a mid range priced/sized bike to start riding again, it worked for me. I enjoy the great comments about the "sporty looking bike" from passers-by. I'm really starting to settle into it now as it felt very strange being my first cruiser,( with regard to cornering & centre of gravity) thought about &… Read more ·  1

test rode the America & bought the Speedmaster, best decission i've made to date. I added straight through pipes & now it's better than ever, & has plenty of power for cruising. Have found the footpegs a bit low to the ground for conering, that's all so far.

Excellent – My overall opinion about the Speedmaster is: DAMN!!! I LOVE THIS BIKE! I have owned triumps and Harley's in the past but, I have never coveted a bike this much before. I bought my Speedmaster in April of 2008 and can't seem to get enough of it! I have taken quite a few weekend trips and the bike handles great, as well as, keeping the rider… Read more ·  3

comfortable. I am going on a cross country trip this spring (Texas to Arizona to Utah to Colorado back to Texas) and am anxious to see how it does on a long road trip. As for the look of the bike, I get a lot of favorable comments at stop lights, parking lots and gas stations. Even the Harley riders comment "Nice Bike" when they get a good look at it. I left the engine and exhaust stock as I ended up with one of the last carb models but, added a few accesories such as the Roadster Sceen, Rocker Shifter, Lightbar, Headlight Visor and Highway Pegs which really give it that 'Don't F*%# with me' look. The only thing the bike lacks off the showroom floor is the footboards, it would be a nice feature to come as a stock item at least on the front.

Good – 9 out of 10 ... 1 point loss for the power to look ration :-). Overall the bike is great, Triumphs have been around for a long time and seem to be getting better. I would recommend that people go and take one for a ride, after 5000kms I can say that the bike feels better now then when it had 100kms on the clock. Well, even the Harley boys like to… Read more

look at it, this is one sexy bike. Every time I take it out there is someone hovering over it. I like the riding position (I'm 5'11"), the bike is well balanced, and you can actually throw it into corners without scraping your pegs off ... It stops, accelerates, takes corners, good value for money and looks cool. The power needs to match the overall look of the bike, it looks as if it should have the grunt of an 1100 but but doesn’t! It lacks top end grunt ... it needs to have an 1100+ cc donk in it.

Good – Out of all the cruisers this was the one I could not go past, it creams all the other Yamaha & Honda cruisers and does not have the price of the Harleys. Great mid-range option for a cruiser with all the classic looks and feel. The new 2008 model with have EFI which adds around 5bhp to the previous models. Would recommend after market exhausts… Read more

for a cool sound. If your looking for a cruiser this bike you should put on your list to test drive. Cool looking classic cruiser that gets plenty of respect around town. Nice bike to customize, lots of accessories to buy if your into that sort of thing. Plenty of power for its weight (249kg) with the 865cc engine with 988cc bore kits available in the market. The weight is very low and centred, so for its size its easy enough for city driving. Great breaks with two front disc and one rear. Had trouble initially getting used to the weight, its a heavy bike. You might want to think about changing the gear ratio for city driving if that will be its main function (larger rear sprocket)...but if its just for weekend highway riding it stock setup is fine.
