Started talking to these guys December 2024, got quotes and did order late January 2025 and deposit for engineering, told 1 week took 3 weeks. no shed, July no shed calling weekly now told early august no shed, September told them I will need to engage lawyer to recover money and did contact a lawyer however Metroll on Sunshine Coast contacted me to arrange delivery, turned up a week later good quality but ffs worst business to deal with, no idea, built an entire house move in ready in the time it took to get a shed.

This bussiness is a scam. Once they have your money. Nobody call you back.

Stay well away from this company… they suck you in and tell you that it will be an easy process…the woman that rings u and promises you the world could sell ice to Eskimo… When you try to get hold of her you can’t… and everytime you ring them to find out how the process is coming along no one can tell you and they say I’ll get back to you. I cancelled my contract with them due to loosing my job and the fact they are a bunch of liars l.. give u false quotes and don’t give you the correct information…

Asked for my deposit back and was told no as the process had been started…. The only process that had been started was them asking me for money and that’s it…

BUYER BEWARE — Our experience with True Blue Garages (TBG) was extremely poor, and I feel it’s important to share this in detail to help others avoid similar stress. payment up front — based on our experience, I’d strongly advise others not to do so.

Engineering is outsourced to a third party and took significantly longer than the “1 week” timeframe we were told. We received our engineering plans after about a month and proceeded with our local council’s approval process, which wrapped up in July.

We paid the final invoice of approximately $30,000 on 9 November 2024. We were told to expect delivery within approximately 8 weeks. At the end of January, we were informed delivery would be on 28 February 2025 — already a 4-week delay, but we were understanding due to the Christmas break.

Then, with no explanation, we were told delivery was being delayed again — this time to 18 March. Despite repeated requests, we couldn’t get clear answers as to why the delay occurred, especially since our shed should’ve been ordered immediately after final payment (as confirmed by internal receipts we received). They attempted to tell us that roller doors and brackets caused the delay due to coming from different companies, however they are all from the same company - Metroll.

Upon digging into the situation, we discovered that the company is linked to Joshua Purtell, whose name appears in many online complaints regarding similar businesses. (Search his name to read more — the information is publicly available.) At that point, we had serious doubts that our shed had even been ordered.

After more back-and-forth and escalating the issue (including threats of legal action, and contact with consumer protection bodies), we discovered the shed was only ordered from Metroll after our promised delivery date of 28 February. We began to start dealing directly with Metroll to make any progress in communication.

Communications from TBG became erratic and unprofessional. A staff member told us on the phone, “I don’t have to” when asked for a status update as if a child being told to eat her dinner. Emails to listed addresses began bouncing back. We were also confused by shifting claims about who the actual director of the business is — sometimes we were told Josh (from himself however according to ASIC, Kristy is listed as the director of TBG.

We also discovered that True Blue Garages appears to be connected to The Shed Specialist, Aussie Made Sheds, and Shed Xtra — each with different ACNs and listed directors, yet apparently operating from the same office. This felt misleading and raised more concerns.

We were finally able to get our shed delivered on 8 April 2025, but this only happened after repeated escalation and months of stress. We are grateful to Metroll, not TBG, for finally making it happen.

I also want to mention — during this ordeal, someone from the company accessed and reacted to posts on my personal social media, including those of my children. I found this behavior completely inappropriate and unsettling. (Screenshot attached in review.)

Lastly, we noticed that some positive reviews for these businesses are from people connected to them — for example, [Name Removed], who is listed as working for The Shed Specialist. This raises questions about the authenticity of some of the 5-star reviews.

This is my honest experience and opinion. I hope it helps others make informed decisions. If you are considering this business, I strongly recommend doing thorough research and considering other providers. As attached they tried not to include roller door motors - noticed as they were not listed in our bill of materials.

Extremely poor communication would not return calls, would not allow me to talk to owner or even pass on my concerns. Shed was 3 months later as promised. Communication was misleading to ensure full payment was made. Once they had my money there communication became dismissive, would not recommend this company, was an extremely stressful experience.

The service at ‘True blue garages’ is second to non. Jayde, offered very friendly and genuine service over the phone. She showed her passion for offering premium quality Australian blue scope steel sheds to people. Jayde went over and above to help us find the right size shed for us.

very disappointed. Quoted and paid for shed and paid extra for a particular coloured garage door. At the last minute they said they can't supply it and only refunded part of the money we paid for it.

Excellent Service – I have purchased a shed through True Blue Garages, The salesman was so good at looking after me and everything I needed. Even the after sales care was amazing, after being pushed around by council they stayed in contact the whole time.
