Do not buy this device – I've had problems since I purchased this in June 2020. Early issues were a general lack of assistance from Amplify support. A simple resolution in the end took three weeks to resolve due to support being North America based and only over email. If you never touch this product and don't make any configuration updates then it is stable. Recently… Read more

I've relocated the router to a more appropriate location and have had nothing but problems since. The issue is mainly with the afi-mesh units. The handshaking between these and the AmpliFi is so poor that it continuously force the Amplify to reboot and the only way to fix this is to factory reset the afi-mesh to disconnect them from the AmpliFi. The problem is to bring these back online when apply fixes, you need to factory reset the AmpliFi. This is a product that can't even get the basics right and should be avoided.

Great product ... EXCEPT for the casing material used – The problem is, the casing material "attracts dust particles" (according to manufacturer support), and it sure does, as well as anything else that might be in the air or surrounds. When you try to clean the router and extenders with anything other than the recommended "clean, dry cloth", you can't! My router sits in my study, which I heat with a… Read more

wall-mounted gas unit in winter. As a result, the router looks grimy and feels sticky – and nothing I do can it clean it. So very disappointing. The manufacturer support has basically washed their hands (pun intended) of the problem. So much for the use of advanced materials in the 21st century!

Wi-Fi that just works – With a large house and thick internal walls, the only way we were going to get proper WiFi coverage within our home was with a mesh router. After toying with the idea of deploying a 3xNest WiFi setup, a friend suggested I look at Ubiquiti's range and I eventually settled on buying a 3xAmpliFi router setup (about AU$660 in total). We needed at… Read more ·  1

least one Ethernet port at one of the mesh point sites which was a factor in going down this route.

Setup is a breeze with the phone app, and there is just the right amount of configurable network settings to please a tech-head but not overwhelm someone who has never configured a router before. Sure, it's missing a few advanced features like MAC address filtering, but the typical home user has no real need of these.

The WiFi connection is solid and strong, and I was able to locate one of the mesh points further than my previous setup with an obsolete (802.11N) router and range extender while retaining a "good" signal connection to the base router. The LED light and screen can be controlled for each device (and switched off on a schedule), and overall the router is unobtrusively small so it looks good no matter where it's located.

Exceptionally happy with this router; reliable and it just works.

Does the basics, and not much else – The router will connect you to the internet and allows for quick additions, and the range is fine for a small home. The clock face also automatically updates for daylight savings which is nice, and it looks good. However, the software is extremely limited, and having to use an app rather than being able to reach the management software on the… Read more

computer is frustrating. Good for non-tech savvy people, for anyone who's looking for something that they can have any control over I'd recommend going with another brand.

Great router, very happy – I decided to try this router to try to improve the wifi dead spots in my double brick townhouse. It was very easy to set up and looks attractive. I now have wifi upstairs and in the garage and I don’t think I will need to buy additional points at this stage. Very happy with the purchase. Show details

Packed with great features – Small little white cube unit and very easy to set up. The manual is easy to follow but you will not need to use it as everything can be set up using the App. One of the best App to use; everything can be control with it. Good price from Pentanet and the router delivered and look great. Show details

A must have for all homes – I researched a lot of routers/modems to carefully choose the right one for my house. This router is amazing. The app is extremely easy to use with the ability to control all the wireless connections from your phone while away from home. Easy to set up 5 minutes TOPS! 2.4/5ghZ wifi connections and 4 Ethernet Ports is perfect for a house. Zero regrets in this purchase. Show details

Fantastic coverage throughout the house – Have one AmpliFi router and 5 mesh points around a two storey house and have complete WiFi coverage inside and outside. The setup was really straight forward - just plug and play and you're good to go. Have had other mesh solutions in the past (Netgear) and it's never worked as well as this. Would highly recommend. Show details

Great looking router – Doesn't look like another ugly router you want to hide behind the shelf. Very stylish and nice looking device. Easy set up and excellent wireless coverage. The smartphone app is very useful with plenty of features. Technical supports is quite good. Would highly recommend this router. I have been using it for last two months, no issues or wifi drop offs.  Show details

Very impressed. Hard to fault – Spent a lot of time looking at reliable, sturdy & feature packed modems. Needed something with good wireless coverage, lots of features, can handle loads of devices and above all, looks good in the home! This thing does it all. Awesome app features, set-up was relatively easy (some older devices needing 2.4Ghz needed tweaking in the app) and… Read more

incredible wireless coverage in and even outside the home. Highly recommended

P.S. At the time of writing this review, I have been advised of a recall of this item. Specifically the mesh point extenders which have been identified as potentially at risk of falling apart at the powerpoint and thus, exposing the internal electrical contacts inside. Note the modem itself is not affected and not named in the recall, only the mesh extenders.

I was contacted by the retailer where I bought the bundle to power off & disconnect the mesh extenders and return them for a new pair over the counter. Now waiting on the retailer to advise as to when replacements will be in stock

Ubiquiti Amplifi HD nice stylish wifi router – Set up very easy with smartphone app. Serious networkers will be disappointed with the lack of options to change but port forwarding and dchp server settings are accessible. Wi-fi coverage good even without mesh points attached. Easy to monitor via app and guest wifi system works well and easily.Looks good as well.  Show details

Super Simple, fast, reliable Wi-Fi – I purchased this to replace my Optus Huawei E5186 router and TP-Link RE350 range extender, which were providing spotty coverage and mixed/terrible throughput speed (<70Mbps) making it difficult to stream HD video from PLEX and TV from my HDHomeRun, especially in the upstairs bedrooms of my 2-story (~170 m2) 4 bedroom house. I initially got just… Read more

the main HD Mesh Router, which was incredibly easy to set up (a couple of minutes) and gave significantly better coverage than the Huawei router. It's surprisingly small and looks nice enough that you can leave it out on display. Most importantly, I could now get access upstairs, however, the signal was still a bit weak (1-2 bars) and throughput (<100Mbps) was not much better than with the TP-link extender, although streaming was now working well. I picked up 1 additional mesh-point on special, which I simply plugged in an upstairs wall socket and with a few clicks on the iPhone app, it was connected and my speeds were now a very respectable 700+ Mbps. The Amplifi HD completely fixed all my internal streaming and file transfer issues and with the benefits of a single SSID and whole home mesh wi-fi.

I couldn't be happier!

Simple and reliable Wi-Fi – I purchased this Wi-Fi router to resolve some airplay and Wi-Fi coverage issues I've had at home. I am very impressed at the performance. It was also very quick to setup, however if you are into adjusting advanced settings, you will be disappointed. That said, the basic NAT/PAT advanced setups was available, and the WiFi performance solid and… Read more

reliable. I am no longer having Bonjour issues and can happily AirPrint from my phone. Not as configurable as their corporate products, though seems to have the same good Wi-Fi chipset/antenna's inside. This is NBN suitable with a Gigabit ethernet WAN port.
