Works well, lasts a long time – I've had this phone (+ extra handset) for about 8 years now and it still works well. The battery died in the handset and I replaced it this week with a generic one that has a 3 year warranty (only $7!) Like other phones, if you have ADSL or anything else using the same line you'll need a splitter/filter on the line between it and the phone plug, otherwise you get crackles from interference.

Terrible battery life – Brand new phone with a battery fully charged which went flat after 2 5 minute phone calls. False claims "Up to 10 Hours Talk Time & Up to 7 Days Standby Time" & it is no wonder it is has been discontinued. This is the last time I buy a Uniden product.

Bad – This is the first and last time i will purchase a Uniden telephone. For the price I paid of $99, I thought I would get at least an average phone. Well I must say I believe this is below average for that price. My previous Panasonic was awesome and it was only over use that it died. The battery life is meant to be approx 7 days of standby and 10 hours of talking time. I am lucky to get 3 days before I need to recharge the phone. My wife and I don't often make long phone calls either. The main problem with this unit was the constant crackling when talking to somebody. Every time there was a constant crackle and the voice would drop out and you would have to repeat your sentence. not a good phone in my opinion. I am going back to panasonic. The size of this phone is just right.

Solid Build.

Answering Machine is good. Sound quality is shocking.

Battery Life.

I've experienced exactly the same problems and will never buy another Uniden product again. The crackling is so bad its impossible to use fortunately the second handset works but I'm not waiting for it to go done the same path and will now be looking seriously at Panasonic.

disappointing phone – I bought this phone 2-3 years ago as my neighbour had a similar brand and was happy with it. I had a Telstra brand and unhappy with it. My first opinion was disappointing from the start. the clarity was less then desired and the volume a little low . The ring was not as loud as i would like either. i'm not sure whether it is our line but we also had some crackling or distortion on the line. the reception throughout our single story 4 bedroom house is very good. I don't think this is bad phone but I need something better so I will try a Panasonic User friendly controls, Price, size and build quality, Reception distance Clarity
