Uniden DECT 3236
VerifiedMPNs: UNI-DECT3236-1 and UNI-DECT3236-29 reviews
Learn to write manuals properly – I can handle it. My wife can only answer calls. Extra steps to get number list is no good. The manual is lacking logic in many places. A good manual would have avoided many comments in your reviews. Make your manual exact to the actions necessary. Your manual is very incomplete in accuracy Would have preferred 24h clock. Looks good, works well but has essential features missing! – You really need to read the fine print! I was so disappointed when I could not find two very essential facilities on this phone that my previous, fifteen-year-old phone had; Call Number Barring and Privacy Mode. Seriously, nowadays, with the Hassle Calls one gets, we do not take any calls between 9 pm and 6 am., and this phone does not have the… Read more
facility! Oh, you can set the phone manually, each night for up to nine hours for privacy but you can not set this as a permanent setting!
Call Barring, such an important feature on my mobile and on my old, fifteen-year-old phone is also not included! What a crap! Now, those hassle calls one get's from the same solar companies, and electricity companies and all that I can no longer bar permanently.
Frankly, this will be my last Uniden phone. I would have thought that after fifteen years, they would have added a few features not started removing the very useful and important facilities. How very, very disappointing! I may even choose to sell this system on-line cheaply and get another system that has these features.
Buyer Beware with Uniden products, not always built to a standard....
A waste of money, a waste of time – Firstly, the phone comes with a manual that was obviously meant for another model. I tried to follow instructions and got hopelessly lost. Perhaps this phone was designed for IT specialists and computer geeks, but not for ordinary people. Unworkable and useless: after many efforts, my wife and I still have no idea how to make a phone call. We are going to pack it in and demand our money back. Show details
Static connection and Bluetooth – I sit right beside base station and the other party keeps asking "are you moving around because of the static is terrible" Another time talking to caller through my mobile to their mobile and then my mobile, then Uniden starts ringing and I check and it's the same caller as on my mobile. I don't answer the Uniden but continue talking on mobile and all is good. I am returning to store now and will never buy a Uniden again. Show details
Poor user interface – I find the user interface requires far more concentration than my previous Uniden phone. The place one expects the End Call button to be is a Bluetooth button that places the call on hold instead of disconnecting, so both my wife and I keep placing calls on hold. Apart from the user interface, which is a major burden, the phone works satisfactorily. Show details
Don't buy – Don't buy it due to its poor sound quality, it uses batteries that are costly to replaced, complicated phone book setup ( more steps then listed in the instruction manual). I took it back the next day and bought the Panasonic Kx tg789. This is a much better phone then this uniden, on the above issues Show details
Disappointed – Have been using this Uniden DECT 3236 for two weeks, so disappointed - the manual lacks detail: thought I had lost all my entries in address book, only after reading the previous review about accessing the phonebook, there are extra steps not mentioned. Just moving away from the base station to the doorway of the room creates static, and no option… Read more
to plug in a headset. Our 20 year old uniden set blows this one out of the water, very odd, but the battery was draining too quickly so decided to buy a new one, our mistake, should have replaced batteries.
Absolutely Terrible – I wish I had read the previous reviewers comments before buying this lemon. It is driving me so crazy to call a contact with this phone's 6 step confusing process.....who dreamt up this idea. ABSOLUTELY unacceptable....should be 3 simple steps like my old Uniden phone. Uniden cannot help so I am taking it back immediately. Looked at… Read more
alternatives from Uniden and other makers but regarless of the price they all get bad reviews......doesn't anyone make good cordless phones anymore????
How to make it hard to make a phone call - thanks UNIDEN – I have owned several model of Uniden wireless phone before and found them ok. So when I wanted to spend some FlyBuy points I though Great - I will get a new Uniden Phone. I selected the Undiden Dect3236+1 because it offered the ability to connect your mobile phone via bluetooth. It arrived and I have found that Uniden have totally stuffed up the… Read more
ease of use of making a basic phone call. On other Unidens you would press the directory button and then you can easily select from the names in the directory and make your call. A simple one press and you are in the directory. On the DECT 3236 1. press the home/Flash Button then 2. press the directory button then 3. press the Menu Select button to go to the home directory. You are now in the directory. So on the DECT 3236 it takes 3 button presses to access the directory versus 1 button press on and other phone I have owned. It is driving my wife and I around the bend. I contacted Uniden and was told that this is the way it is designed. They further said they would not assist me in exchanging this badly designed phone for another. Thanks Uniden. I advise any one looking for a wireless home phone to avoid this one at all costs.
