Hi guys what is the best Ariel to hook these up to have been given the unit but need an Ariel please Show details · 1
Bad reception – Not sure if it's my unit or maybe i have set it up wrong but it's like the unit is only putting out and receiving at 2.Watts I had a cheap and nasty Digitech in car UHF 5.Watt that was Clearer and more powerful any help would be much appreciated. I've given 2 stars for now and will give more if I can get it to work better Show details
Cheap RJ45 Plug – I have had this unit for a few years now, but haven't used it much since it is in my play car, but last time I went to use it the handset wouldn't work so stupid me just bought a replacement just to find out its a poor cheap RJ45 plug in the unit itself. It's amazing how a peace of cheap plastic can ruin a good product. I think I will be looking at a different brand next time.
Works well despite poor quality connectors – The UH7760nb has worked well over the years despite the RJ45 socket on the base unit breaking soon after installation. The main issue is that the mic handset cable can easily pull out and often does rendering the mic handset inoperable. Upon closer inspection Uniden has used a poor quality RJ45 socket on this model CB. Ive replaced it with a Sparkfun 8pin. There is also an issue with the inline fuse. Both issues can be fixed. UH5060 issues from new – Purchased new and installed. Didn’t transmit properly weak and limited range. Changed my installation to avoid possible electrical interference from my vehicle. Still no joy. Employed an amateur radio guru to check everything. Installation was good everything checked out but the set puts out .5watt on the transmission instead of 5 Watts. I’ve… Read more
pulled it back out and now will have to go down the long windy road of getting it replaced or repaired. Pretty disappointing that it’s no good from new. Always had Uniden but I’m starting to regret my choice.

UNIDEN 80 CHANNEL UH5060 UHF CB RADIO 5 – I have found this to be an excellent little unit and very easy to operate. Great warranty. What more could you ask for. Price is in the right range and the product is excellent. I'm damn certain you will always find someone to complain but that's the way of the world. All GOOD!!! Show details
Worked ok for 6 months – Screen display started playing up I didn't know what channel I was on I wasn't able to take it to a dealer for repairs so I hoped it might come good in time but it never. I had the same problem a 7750nb purchased about the same time, I rung a repairer in Adelaide who indicated that they may not be worth fixing. These units have now been replaced with gme electraphones. Show details
Second thoughts about buying one of these – I have spoken to a lot of people regarding this unit. I was sooooooo close to buying it until I got wind of a real problem with it. Apparently Uniden have made it incompatible with other makes. It picks up transmissions perfectly from other Uniden units but suffers very badly with other makes. I was not sure this could be possible but when I… Read more
started to quiz the retailers about it they all said it was true. So unless everyone you are travelling with has a Uniden, I wouldn't touch it. Not Applicable Read the review
Absolutely fantastic – Bought this as a replacement for an older 40ch Uniden UH015SX that had packed it in and was out of warranty. Not disappointed at all. VERY easy to use, buttons are all there on the mic. Tiny radio goes almost anywhere you can put it in the vehicle, included extension cable is handy if required. So far it works great. Extension cable included for… Read more
remote mounting, clear audio for weak or wideband signals, basic functionality easy to use, volume doesn't need to be turned up much to hear expensive, only includes one remote mic, no rear mic port to plug in another mic.
Compact, full of features and 80 channels ready! – The radio part is a very tiny unit; about the size of a cigarette box. It mounted very neatly under the dash. In fact, it doesn't need much space at all and could be mounted in most places, even in a small vehicle. The microphone includes ALL the controls. There are no knobs; every function is push button. And it's very easy to use. The… Read more · 1
buttons, once learned, fall very easily to hand. The speaker in the microphone is loud and clear and the sound is duplicated in the radio unit as well. In all, its a very neat and functional unit.
At the time of writing, 80 CB channels are expected to be allocated by mid 2011. To enable the radio for 80 channels will simply be by entry of a code.
Build quality is typical Uniden. I compared this radio to an Oricom with similar features and chose the Uniden. The microphone, volume and other buttons operate with a positive feel. The mic cord also of the Uniden is thick, strong and flexible. Tiny, quality, feature rich, easy to install and use.
