Great Welder - Great Customer Sevice from UNIMIG – Great welder. The full time boiler maker that was doing some welding for me used this welder on my job site. After seeing it in action, I bought one for myself. I did have a defective unimig gas regulator out of the box which Unimig sent a replacement out to me by express which I could not ask for better service than that. Show details

My everyday welding companion for almost a decade – This machine replaced my old Transarc MIG. After initial problems with the retailers, it has functioned faultlessly with no repairs and little maintenance. It has welded kilometers of mild steel from 2 to 12mm thick. I have been so impressed with its performance that I bought a Uni MIG185 as an extra, more portable on-site welder. Show details ·  1

razor weld 200 with gas installation – I find that when working for some time on Galv. RHS steel that the gas nozzle accumulates spatter etc. and the heat in the nozzle prevents nozzle removal and cleaning - even with the aid of a dip gel. Eventually exerting enough pressure to twist the nozzle off the hand piece also breaks the gas diffuser. I mentioned this problem to the local agent… Read more

a few months ago and was told to invest in an alternative Renard nozzle and contact tip. I believe I should not have to spend further expenditure to solve a product fault. Otherwise the mig with gas works fine.

Great little big machine – Would be nice to have digital adjustments on mig side, specially when welding different thicknesses on aluminium, but it's easy to get familiar with settings, very portable machine and does great quality welds. Show details ·  1

Perfect welder for light work – This is a great little unit for light work in the shed. Would recommend for anything up to 6mm mild steel. Can do heavier work but it will require assistance with pre heat and won't do long stints at max duty cycle. I've done quiet a few jobs with this and can't fault it. Being Unimig there is no issue with spares and it has a decent warranty. For the price it's sold at, you get a great package. Show details ·  1

Bang for your buck – Have been a boilermaker for 9 years, played on all brands and sizes including big 3 phase factory tanks and honestly just about 9/10 confident in saying the 200 Unimig machine would be my preference, the geared drive rollers really make a huge difference in responsiveness and smoothness, however I obviously didn't get the healthiest machine of the… Read more ·  1

Great size, plenty of power, ideal for field work – I'm a diesel fitter / engineer with over 10 years of field based repairs and fabrication experience. In that time I've used all manner of welders from all price ranges, Kempi, Cigweld, CIG, Bosweld, Rossi.. After plenty of research, I upgraded to Unimig's Razor 200. My first Unimig. Most of the time I'm running everything off a generator, and I… Read more ·  1

Highly Recommended – I purchased the Unimig Razor 200 having prior knowledge of their capabilities and reliability. We have 2 at a Quarry I work in and they are used both in the field and the workshop. They are light enough to carry throughout the crushing plant and still give us the power for heavy duty welds. They are used in dusty and dirty conditions and are often… Read more ·  1

box and the 4m lead is so much better having a bit extra reach, onlt thing I would reccomend is stating on the sales pages that is comes with all the wire wheels and what size liner is installed so you know what you need to gran at the same time as purcahse, lucky for me my delaer hasd one on display so we could check wheels and what size liner was in the lead. Little bit of fiddling with the backburn settings as my last welder didnt have that nice feature! Thanks Unimig, nice to be welding again!

Awesome performance, easy to use!! – Really loving both gas and gasless mig welding with this unit. The results Im getting from the machine are really good but the reason I love it more is it takes an absolute thrashing when I take it offsite and it just keeps on going and going. Keen to get a spool gun and see how well with tackles aluminium. Show details ·  1

From opening the box I could tell the torch & machine was built with quality clearly in mind, and the welds it were producing were far superior then many other machines I had tried in the pass. I have to say I will have no more hesitation in buying these companies products in the near future and would recommend anyone who isn't sure what company to pick for quality and reliability to choose unimig

NOT GOOD!!! – Needed a new onsite welder. went to the store and thought Id try the UNIMIG.. Years ago they had a reputation as being junk and unreliable. afford not having a welder for onsite stuff. |So i put it in to be fixed . My mistake was i thought this must be just a one off dud..So to keep things uniform and interchangable i went and bought a second Unimig 200. The job needed doing and i thought hey be good to have a stand by..this welder last 2 months and dead shorted blowing the safety switch.. UNMIG!!! Never again. They aint improved since the old days , my opinion is they a still Junk,,Both welders are in the shop for the secong time as the back service is also crap..they gave both welders back to me and did nothing..Still has earth leakage and the other still farts and splutters on every weld start...Yes im going out to spend a little extar and grab a GOOD brand...

Well thats my experience with UNIJUNK...hope yours is better..Cheers

Nice machine – Does a great job wth gasless mig. Just knocked up a set of gates. I couldn't be happier. Can't wait till gas becomes cheaper. Pretty hopeless striking an arc with stick welding. Tap Tap tap, if you know what I mean. I think the stick function is to make it more appealing to sell. Disappointed with that side of it.

Why didn't I get one sooner – A new toy. A UniMig RazorWeld MIG-MMA 200. Why did I persist with my old stick only welder for so long. Here is my story - $6000+ tubular fence quotes - not happy. Purchased this welder (stick and Mig only - but with spool gun connection) with a good auto darkening shield, a 4.5kg roll of flux core wire and all the material for $3500 including… Read more

installation costs and paint. When the job is finished the fence will only have cost about $2000, then ready to make a flat top tray for my RTV Style-side ute (backed into something and buggered it) and several other jobs after that. First job done was to make a pair of trestles/stands from scrap thin walled Dural Galv RHS laying around, so I can weld at a good height. Beautiful job. Will pay for itself over and over again - hopefully.

Having previous but limited welding experience, the connections / polarity and setup was easy - didn't need the manual, Never got one in the box but is available off the net. As long as the drive rollers and end tip are the right diameter to match your wire, you are set to go. This unit is a geared driven roller feeder so should be better for repetition stop/start tacking and stitching. Traps to be aware off - leave the paper wrap on the mig wire reel till the end is fed into the drive rollers or the wire may spring loose/unwind from the reel, ending in a mess of spagetti flying in all directions - play with the drive roller to get the right feed tension on the wire, especially important for stop/start tacking and filling gaps where cut tube ends meets the radii in a T joint.

What a dream to use - with about 10/12mm of wire exposed was ideal for me - playing with voltage and wire feed rate only took a few minutes to master. You don't need the chrome gas shield on the end of the handle with flux core welding - so pull it off and throw it in the carry bag supplied. A wire cutter is a must have - to snip off the end of the wire as a small blob of flux will stop it striking as does any flux left on the previous weld. The earth clamp and cables appear very robust - more industrial than hobby welder, but this unit is not at the cheap end for handy man welders. Vertical ups on thin material - easy - just tack, tack your way up the joint. Finished welds look gross - especially on galv tubing (compared to gas mig) but with a chipper/wire brush or wire wheel they come up looking like a professional job (after some practice) plus a good coat of paint after of course. haha. I tried welding some 5 and 10mm clean mild steel together - it worked great and not quite as messy to clean up. Does anyone want a good used stick welder - got an old one for sale.

There is a digital display welder available in this range but I went for the plain old simple control knobs. Like my previous reviews - This unit is new so if anything happens down the track I will amend my review accordingly.

A special safety / health note to conclude - with flux core welding it's very important to be in a well ventilated area - avoid breathing in the fumes.
