A high quality easy to use machine – I have been using this welder for a week and am very happy with it. I am new to TIG welding but found this machine really easy to use and understand the settings. Avoid! – Machine failed within half an hour of use. It will not start a weld at all. Returned to store where purchased and sent to Unimig in Sydney for repair. After 9 weeks I received the machine back only to find it still did not work. It did the exact same thing of not starting a weld. See video. Once again it is back with Unimig and I have had no update from them or the retailer I purchased through. It appears other people have had the exact same issue with this machine too. Avoid this dud of a welder.

Awesome lightweight machine – Does everything you need with a ten amp plug. Quality welds are definitely achievable. If I brought again I would buy the 200 with 15amp plug though. Unimig consumables are expensive. Show reply
First project completed – Did some tricky aluminium tig welding. Very thin section, (1mm) also used the foot pedal for the first time. Got the job done. Love the machine. Still lots to learn but love the welder. Show details · 1

Absolute best TIG welder for the home user – I got this as my first TIG machine and have absolutely no complaints. For what I do at home, it is more than powerful enough, has all the features I need and is solid and reliable. for more options of consumables as I do a lot of thin aluminium and stainless steel. I feel this is neccessary when dealing with exotic metals like I do (stainless and titanium). The CK9 with flex lead works perfectly with no issues and really elevates this already fantastic machine to a new level!

Everything you need and with a 10a plug – I was using a Unimig 130amp stick/tig inverter for a few years but wanted a welder that would weld aluminium. Everyone I looked at used a 15amp plug, which I don't have access to. A Good Unit – The Unimig Viper 180 AC/DC TIG is a nice product, feature rich and works as advertised. It is good for professional as well as the new beginner. Will operate just fine from a standard 10A socket. The HF start makes striking an arc very easy. All the other features of a good AC/DC TIG are there as well. Welding fine S.S. wire – With this welder i was able to weld 1mm S.S. wire to 1.6mm S.S. wire. This is something that i could not do with my other TIG machine. I was even able to do this with a 2.4mm electrode! I also did my best ever fillet weld on 5mm bar. Show details · 1
