Solid workhorse for nearly 6 years – Very easy to manoeuvre and fold. Was happy with the build quality, but the axle did snap after almost six years (used on and off, including with two kids in it at once sometimes). Loved my ion! The head barrier was very low, which was a bit uncomfortable for the kid as they grew taller but were still within the weight limit. The basket underneath did have a tendency to unclip and drag on the ground. Thanks for the memories!

Great until it snapped in half – It was an awesome pram for my first child! Very maneuverable light and easy to use but snapped in half one day after walked on an unpaved sidewalk after my second child was barely walking himself! Great if your someone who drives and won't be using it as much as I did on public transport etc

I would give this a 4 and a half stars if I could – The ONLY downside to this pram is not being able to buy a tray for it and the fact its discontinued now. I went through 6 prams in 4 months searching for my darling. Only the Ion and the Emmaljunga Classic, (the first pram she was in straight out of hospital) have suited, and I bought this because I couldn't take the Classic in the car so easily.… Read more

Brilliant customer service to from Valco that needs commending.

I get the feeling in a few years time, these prams will be very sought out and we'll regret not having new models.

Brilliant! we.love it – I absolutely love my valco pram. I have for 14 months now and no 1 problem. I get so many good comments from people because it looks nice , expensive and is a smart design! Is Light weight ,not too big , easy to fold and all the Wells can come out easily which make easy to put in the car. I also loved the basinet it's comfortable and I used… Read more

BEST PRAM YOU WILL EVER BUY – Oh my goodness this pram is amazing. I previously had the steelcraft cruiser ( worst pram :( ) this pram is amazing. It folds down easily and is really compact. The material is great quality, if you feel it's a little rough just buy a pram liner EASY. The bassinet attatchment is fantastic clips on securely and is a cosy little space and the baby… Read more

can face both ways. The basket underneath can be accessed Amazingly EVEN WHEN THE SEAT IS ALL THE WAY DOWN!!! And it holds a great amount of things... I go to woolies and put as much as I would in a basket in there... 1# I LOVE about this pram .... The extendable cover...... It actually covers your baby from the sun and rain ..... I cannot rate this pram better.... Please so yourself a favour and just buy it !!!

Love it so much, bought three! – I do have a Bernini that I use when bubs are tiny, for walks in the park opposite our place. I don't need it but it was a gift and I like the bounce when it is pushed. Otherwise I use the ion all the time. I also have a McLaren technoXT, but this one is easier to fold down and much more manouverable. I catch the train a lot and always take the… Read more

ion. I don't fold it up on the train. The sun protection provided by the hood is awesome, and essential for our family. Boy four years old stayed in it until he was well past any pram. Two year old sleeps in it is the daytime. I am not sure why but she insists. She is quite tall too. I have bought one for mum's place so I can leave mine in the car and hurry away in the mornings. I have just bought another one because my first is the original model and did not have as much sun cover. So I will sell it. Easy to steer with one hand an lays flat in the wink of an eye with one hand to do it. Not too wide.

ok if you like a 3 wheeler – I am really sorry to say but I really didn't like this pram, I really did try to make myself like it with the couple of things that were positive. I will start with the positives. Positive. Gives you the option of the bassinet attached without braking the bank. The hood is really big and covers the whole seat area. to steer. Belly bar, bug net and rain cover all included.

Negatives

Big and bulky when folded and was very awkward picking up, it would not fit in a small boot. Material harsh, very noisy and seems very poor quality. Seat belt hard to use and the plastic seems very weak compared to other brands. Basket near impossible to get into even when seat is in an upright position. Handle not very comfortable to use. Being a 3 wheeler I found it slightly unstable at times. Would tip if I had my nappy bag on the back and baby not in it. The actual seat is very small compared to other brands so bubs would outgrow the pram quickly to me. I had never had a wheeler and regretted buying one, I think out of everything I hated this the most.

I really don't like writing negative feedback however this is just my experience with this pram and thought I would just let you know small things that may make you think twice. Cheap. Easy to steer. big hood. 3 wheeler, unstable, bulky, storage basket very impractical and all over material seems very poor quality.

Perfect for me – Love my Velcro pram. I have bassinet attachment and love how the cover comes right over for protection. I got the tan one which doesn't show the dirt. The wheel comes off so easily so I can fit it into my small car. Love how it folds in half so the inside of pram is protected. After almost three years the wheels aren't great (small bends and hard… Read more

Valco Ion Plus – I purchased this pram for my first baby. It seemed easy to manoeuvre and easy to fold compared to other prams. I used the basinet insert for the first 4 months and then my baby wanted to sit up so I started using the "normal" seat. The material was a little harsh on my baby and uncomfortable so I had to purchase a pram liner, the other problem is… Read more

that you cannot face your baby towards you which is a MAJOR issue with my little one as she will not settle in the pram now that she is forward facing and cries in the pram as she cannot see me. The window provided when the shade is put up is WAY too small so she has too bend her neck back to see me and she gets annoyed because the cover is too much in the shopping centre (covers her too much if I want the window to be viewable), another negative is the storage or shopping basket it is WAY too small and cannot even fit my nappy bag so I have to hang it off the handle and walk a metre away from the back of the pram just to push it!

The other problem is the five point seat belt, although safe it is extremely hard to adjust and make comfortable on my baby, also you cannot swaddle her prior to putting the belt on which I used to do with the basinet insert and this would help her sleep in the pram aswell.

I'm overall disappointed with the pram unfortunately and find it hard to do any shopping visits for longer then 30 minutes.. Maneouvarability, easy fold, big cover Material harsh for baby, shopping basket too small, NO option but outward facing, Viewing window too small, Seat belt too hard to adjust

Excellent – This is a great pram/stroller that we've traveled with on planes, trains and automobiles.Light & easy to fold and tho more expensive than some well worth the extra. We've had 1 zipper break and the front tyres have worn to quickly.Low tread on the front tyres makes it awkward to push on polished floor surfaces.

Awesome little pram - and great customer service – Small, manouverable, the expanda hood is fantastic - our little ones have slept blissfully though many a dinner party with the hood up. We had a minor issue (6mths after warranty expired) and valco fixed it, shipped it etc. all free of charge - the customer service was second to none!!!

Small, lightweight, packs up smaller than the mountain buggy, expanda hood is awesome - no need for cloths that blow away, rain cover and sun cover come with the pram not as optional (expensive extras)

This is the best stroller I have ever owned – I bought this stroller for my 3rd baby, I needed a stroller that would fit in my small hatchback boot but still be suitable for a newborn, Ion fit the bill. I bought the hush bassinet attachment & used it until my baby was 5 months old, it was fantastic & so cosy & comfy for my baby. My baby is now 10 months old & this stroller gets used a lot. … Read more

We live in a hilly area with not great footpaths but I find it handles the terrain great. When I drop the kids at school we have to maneuver steps & I haven't found any problems with this either.

The expander hood is fantastic & probably the feature that sold me on it. At 10 months old my baby can still sleep very comfortably in this stroller with the expander hood down.

The steering is the best I have ever found in a stroller & is so easy to steer one handed. It fits through small gaps with ease & I never have a problem fitting through doorways.

I got mine at a very reasonable price on sale but even at full price I think it is quite reasonable especially considering it's features & inclusions. You don't have to fork out extra for a belly bar, sun shade or rain cover.

It is so easy to fold & fits into the most compact of spaces & the front wheel is easily removed & put back on to make it even more compact. It is also very lightweight & easy to lift in & out of the boot. The expander hood is the best feature. Lightweight & compact. The basket is on the small side. I would like it if the seat would sit more upright but the most upright position is still a bit reclined.

Light and compact – This stroller is compact and very light. It is easy to maneuver and fits down bus and train aisles without needing to be folded. Having said this, the basket is frustrating small and things can fall out easily. 8 months after buying the… Read more

stroller the basket tore at the base causing everything put in the fall out. Valco were quick to send a free replacement, however now 3 weeks later there is a large split in the seat seam. Its main fault in my experience is that it is sold as a newborn stroller but is far too big for a newborn. My baby was premmie - the stroller swamped him and the straps took a long time to fit him safely. Very light weight, easy to maneuver and compact Doesn't stand up to everyday use, small basket, overpriced.

Excellent – excellent value, compact, lightweight, easy to steer pram with fabulous sun protection and versatility for newborns up. comfortable pram for newborns, backrest folds down flat enough.Highly recommend the ION. Superb in manouverabilty, lightweight and compact. It's turning & steering is a breeze through all those areas (shops) that are often inaccessable. The Expanda hood is fantastic and provides heaps of shade, baby has never been in direct glare of sun even when facing it, also love the zip on rain cover & fly net. I also hired a capsule when my son was first born and purchased the adaptor bracket to fit to the ION, worked a treat, minimum disruption to a peacefully sleeping newborn and the two hoods of the Capsule and pram met to completely shade, protect the snoozing angel. Have noticed some wear on the tyres and yes storage basket is on the small side but we all know they should be used as prams not shopping trolleys (guilty!!)

I love it – I love my Valco ion and purchased it for a newborn.. as the foot rest folds up all the way it was very safe.. My favourite is the large hood great for the hot sun and Rain... I did purchase the toddler attachment but dont use it alot as it makes the pram hard to steer.. You can steer this pram with 1 hand... Light. large hood Price it is expensive

Not as good as I'd hoped – This pram is really a very expensive stroller, it's good for shopping malls and is lovely and light for lifting in and out of the car. it wont be the pram for me, as it doesn't come with attachments for toddlers. (i wasn't planning on having another baby so soon, so i brought it)

when my baby was a newborn is was frustrating being on certain surfaces as u could feel every bump on the surface, (Deff not recommended for newborns) But once my baby was 6 months it was just amazing! so easy to use, folding and unfolding is so simple and takes up minimal room in the boot.

i see SOOO many mums with this pram now, so obviously it’s doing an O.K job! :-)

Maybe this pram should be called a TODDLER pram! i would have given it a 5 star rating. :) Perfect for a toddler! folds and unfold so simply. doesn't take up much room in the boot.. its great how you an recline the back on the pram to what ever suits u and baby (instead of having 4 rough slots). SO easy to use!! No good for a newborn! doesn't come with toddler attachments!!! pretty expensive. Not a Jogger or Walker, its simply a go-to-the-shops Stroller.

Excellent – A WONDERFUL option if you don't want a heavy, wide pram but do want comfort for your newborn. first child and has made getting around so much easier for me with my second child. Buy it! This is a fantastic stroller/pram! It is so light, easy to manoeuvre with one hand, tiny turning circle and narrow for ALL checkouts at the grocery store! It reclines sufficiently for a newborn and sits upright for a toddler, with every position in between. If you have a toddler you can hold their hand whilst also steering this stroller with one hand. The front wheel is easily removed for even the smallest car boots. Also, it is the only pram that ddid not tip backwards when my nappy bag was hung over the back. I cannot fault this pram. Fantastic. I cannot fault this pram after owning it for a year!

excellent for a newborn - lies flat and faces Mum. Accessories included (rain cover and zip in mesh) make the stroller great in all weather conditions.

Expanda hood covers bub right up and with bassinet attached makes a cosy little bubble.

There is nothing I don't like about the Ion - the basket is perhaps a little tricky but is livable.

This was our best buy! Love the size and weight - it fits through all supermarket eisles and is easy to take to a small cafe, fits in our small boot too. Our newborn is happy in the optional bassinet as well as Safe and Sound Unity Capsule which clips into place. Very easy to fold up and down. The extra large "Expanda hood" is fantastic at keeping sun off bub. Specially designed raincover and zip in mesh work great as well. The basket can be a tad small and difficult to quickly throw something in.

Good – I would definitely recommend this pram to anyone. I've been searching for a pram that is compact, lightweight and easy to fold and the Valco Ion is all of these things. twist fold means that the pram folds onto itself and not the ground which can occur with other brands. Even though the basket is small, it is usable and easily accessible. Why purchase other bulky 3 wheeler prams when the Valco Ion does everything they can - possibly even better! I love this pram! It is fantastically light, easy to manoeuvre and compact. The adjustable ergonomical handle means my tall husband can also use the pram with ease. Valco Baby is an Australian company. The expandable hood means extra protection for bub when out and about. The added extras - rain cover and sun mesh - are so easy to attach and remove. The Huush basinet is easy to attach, made from soft comfortable fabric, and allows your newborn to face you. Easily the best pram I have ever owned! Small basket and the feel of the material. Although these are both minor.

Excellent – At $400 this pram is amazing value and it felt great getting rid of all the accessories and streamlining down to this. Ion lasts the test of time but at the moment I'm loving it! Love this pram! I just sold my Bugaboo because the ion has everything I need. It's lightweight, folds with one hand, has a deeper seat than most prams (this is similar to the Bugaboo), has an great basket, expandable hood which really does away with the need for umbrellas & sunshades. Comes with a free handlebar, storm cover and sun cover (both are easy to fix onto the pram). Very easy to use and the wheels aren't too bad for a pram as small as this. It really is very user friendly and I often get comments on how great it looks. The break is much stronger and the harness much safer than on the Bugaboo I had. I find the handle just a little uncomfortable. I didn't want a black pram but most stores only stock it in black (or 'raven').
