Great porta cot for the price – Really happy with this cot. It is quick and easy to set up, the mattress is comfortable unlike a lot of other porta cots. It's easy to take on a plane and fit in the car and light to carry. The only negative is it had a very strong chemical smell when I opened it. I had to air it out for a few weeks and I washed the mattress cover to get rid of… Read more
the smell. It did go away eventually. Also came with a fitted sheet free which was great. Excellent alternative to the Baby Bjorn cot at less than half the price.
light, compact, easy peasy to assemble, fabulous mattress!! – My husband and I set out to buy the Phil &Ted portacot yesterday after lots of research. As with everything we have bought for bub we wanted something light and easy to assemble/dismantle. Once in Babys r us the shop assistant steered us towards the Valco cot and gave us a little demo in the store. Truly awesome!!! Mattress was the best by far… Read more
compared to all the other cots and it is a one piece item that folds so easily. It is still really light at 7 kgs although the phil and ted is 3.5 kgs holding both there was still not much difference.
Bub slept right through and seemed happy with her new space.
The best part is its just $150!! It will really leave you wondering why other brands are up to $400 in price, weigh over 15kgs and take 10+ mins to assemble.
Overall I would definitely recommend this cot.
Good, reliable and excellent value – I got this after using a friends and really enjoyed it. You have to make sure you really push the mattress down into all the corners or it will stay bent up like a banana. I noticed others had this issue and theirs stayed that way. Luckily ours was able to be pushed down. We've used it on a number of camping trips, it is really light and packs… Read more
away to a nice convenient bag. It comes with a mosquito net that goes over the top, we don't use this and it is difficult to put on, slips off easily if you try to check baby. Overall we would recommend this product.
Perfect in function but not durable – I won this at baby expo in 2012 and it was flawless. The light weight, simple flick out and pack up in seconds AND it's comfy thick mattress made this amazing. Unfortunately at 18mths of use the netting ripped from the top, and this was just from normal sleeping, my son doesn't try to push or get out of it at all, if anything he hangs n pulls from… Read more
the top, not the netting. So we were soo disappointed now about to have another baby we have to buy a new cot :( this time wel b looking for durability as a cot whose netting tips without excessive force is not safe. Light, great mattress Netting ripped without much force
Dodgy – Not satisfied at all. When I checked my baby she was either almost on the floor or laying at an awkward angle due to the mattress and general flimsiness of the cot. Thank god we had been supplied a portacot by our accommodation otherwise our baby would have had nowhere to sleep. This is NOT a safe cot to sleep in at all Dangerous, flimsy
Potential hazard – Very disappointed when we got this porta cot out of the box. The foam mattress was heavily indented from the frame that is stored against it. Potential SIDS risk as mattress not firm and flat. We left it out for 48hrs as directed from Valco however this did not make a difference. The base under the foam also didn't sit flat (bit like a… Read more
banana).
The fact is it's a porta cot that should be safe to be use in a matter of mins not days.
After a number of calls between shop and Valco, cot returned for refund. Cheap Not safe
Good value – I purchased this portacot and have used it once. It is good value for money, and lightweight, and very easy to set up and down (in minimal time too!) I did find, however that the corners of the mattress are very sharp, resulting in a small tear in the mesh the first time I set it up. I can't seem to get the centre pieces of the frame to… Read more
lock into place, so am unsure if this is just my cot, or all of them?
Overall though it is very similar to the baby bjorn cot and a fraction of the price. Lightweight, compact, cheaper The top of frame/cot will not lock into place
Not great, not awful – I had high hopes for this portacot due all these reviews. My 6 month old hated it at first but ended up sleeping in it - not sure if more out of exhaustion though. I got my little one drowsy before placing him in the cot, but it is such a long way down that i had to stand on my tippy toes (Im not tall - 5ft4). So beware for those shorties out… Read more
there! Otherwise a decent enough product for the price. Easy to set up and light. Had to stand on tippy toes to place baby down.
Very happy with purchase – I went to buy the BabyBjorn cot and after comparing both these products in the store I discovered that this cot mattress is just as comfortable, if not more, easier to set up and pack away and was far less than half the price. Our baby fell asleep in it within a minute and stayed asleep the whole time we were out. The cot was much lighter than… Read more
other portable cots I have carried and it fit in a small space when it was set up. I would certainly recommend this cot to anyone. inexpensive, lightweight, comfortable, easy to set up and pack up. The travel bag was a little too tight when you are trying to pack up at the end of the night but still fits if you take your time.
Found the one – I really wanted a porta cot that was light and easy to fold up (so did my mum) so after searching for ages and looking at reviews I came across the Valco Zephyr. It's nice and light and even fits in the boot with my pram so I can take it everywhere I go. It's alot like the Baby Bjorn one but quite a bit cheaper. The mattress is also nice and comfy… Read more
so no need for extra padding which can be dangerous. I also like that it has a mosquito net cover extra protection for bub. reasonable price, light, comfy.
So easy to use and we have a happy baby – Purchased travel cot during the week for a few nights away, baby took to it straight away and had no issues. So easy for both mum and dad to put up and pack away, literally a 2min job. We were able to use our sensor pad from the angel care unit with it as it had slits through the bottom where the mattress could be securely fitted. So we knew… Read more
bub was safe and well without constant checking.
Travel cot sheets were a little big for it, so i'm not sure if its smaller than other porta cots. All i know is that its a lot easier to put up and down than a phil & teds portacot and cheaper. We looked at the baby bjorn, but couldn't justify the pricetag - only difference was that the bbjorn looked a bit more stable when rocking at it. I'd recommend paying $135 for this cot and keeping the spare $200. easy assembly and to pack away, good price point Putting the velcro through the holes for securing the mattress - holes are a little small and make it a bit akward.
Great travel cot – I was told to purchase the Baby Bjorn travel cot but couldn't imagine parting with $400 for something that may only be used several times. After searching the web and on the product review website I found the Valco Zephyr. It seems to work on a similar design to the bjorn but at less than half the price. We got ours for $145 from Baby Kingdom. We… Read more
have used it twice so far for our 7 month old daughter and it has been brilliant. So easy to set up. The mattress seems quite thick and it also comes with a mesh top. I would definitely be recommending it as an easy light weight travel cot that you can keep in the car. Light weight, so easy to put up and done. It can be a little bit tricky to put back in the bag but it's quite easy if you line the bag and mattress up correctly.
Such an great portacot – Such a great portacot. So light. So compact. So easy to carry around. Takes less than 30 seconds to setup and less then 1 minute to pack up. Very good quality. Mattress is very comfy. Maximum airflow for reduced risk of SIDS. It fits very easily in the back of our little yaris hatchback. Much much cheaper than the baby bjorn travel cot and is the exact same. We absolutely love it. Light. Compact. Very user friendly.

Love it! – We recently bought this (August 2012) & traveled around New Zealand for a month in a 6berth motorhome with our 1 year old daughter. We set this up at the back of the camper (where the table normally is) every night then packed it away every morning. It was perfect! She loved it, could stand up, hold on and see what we were doing, play with her… Read more
toys if we needed to contain her but also she slept well in there. Easy to pack up and travel with. A real winner and priced well compared to other options out there. Compact size, sturdy frame, easy to use, lightweight and good price
Fantastic Cot! – Just purchased this cot, using it for the first time this week on holidays. It is brilliant, a breeze to put up & take down. Light, compact, with good ventilation (mesh to floor). I purchased this cot for its compact size for future overseas travel & because it meets all Australia safety standards for travel cots (to reduce risk of SIDS). It's… Read more
