Got one of those for quick trips around home. The bike did its job, but the quality of the parts used is horrendous. I had to replace the brakes for better quality ones (the original were some cheap ones that seem to be sold for under 10 AUD). Many parts rusted like crazy and the gears, although being made by Shimano, did not hold up very well. The one good thing was the finish/paint of the frame and electronics that seem to be working fine still. While the bike served it's purpose for a little over 2 years, I would look elsewhere if I was buying it now.
Purchased at Myopia for $975.
2023 VALK Vortex 3 Electric Bike - Great! Except for the wobbly wheels – Easy to put together, largely looks well built, great paint, the brakes are very simple as is the electric controls. The power assist comes in hot some times and then takes a while to kick in other times, making it hard when you need it (up hill!). The real disappointment is the wheels.. both my front and back wheels are not true and look buckled to the naked eye. This was a huge let down and brings everything else down.. if they were good, I would of been amazed for this bike at the price I bought it. Everything is great but the wheels.. sadly a key component to a bike.
Hi Dominic, Thank you for taking the time to write us a review and we apologise for the inconvenience you have had with our Valk Vortex 3.
I can't seem to see that you contacted us about this issue before this review.
When going uphill, please make sure you have the pedal assistance set to a high setting to allow the bike to travel uphill easily. Regarding the wheels, we generally see the rubber pattern may vary slightly giving the illusion the wheels are buckled, however, we find the wheel is straight and true and the rubber pattern is what moves side to side slightly.
We would love to assist you, please get in touch with us at support@mytopia.com.au if you need further assistance.
Regards, Jake
