Terrible Vacuum – Don't bother with this vacuum. Struggles to pick up bread crumbs on tiles with boost mode and brush on! Flicks plenty of it out the back and then you turn it off and it drops what little it picked up and spun around the whole time. Kmart vacuum performed 10x better than this and longer battery life too Show details
Spend a little more on something better quality – Used this vacuum on wooden floors - first one broke within a few months. After tedious back and forward with JB Hifi, managed to get it "fixed". The roller doesn't work, suction is quite poor after only a year or so. We clean the filter etc regularly but it seems to be a vacuum that has a life span of approx 12 months. I'd suggest spending a little more on something better quality, that will last longer. Show details

3 year review - good vacuum but designed to eventually fail – Summary of failures: - floorhead motor wire (see photo) - split floorhead hose - motor thermal overload switch (see photo) - dust ingress due to air leaks (see photo) - post-motor exhaust filter clogged I have owned the Vax Blade VX60 for almost 2 years. The performance good for picking up fine dust and pet fur. The switch turns the vacuum on to… Read more
'max power' by default which can easily be turned off by pressing a button. It can run on 'max power' mode for 20 minutes, which is decent. The battery is still good and holds charge after 3 years of daily use.
However, the brush in the floorhead stopped working intermittently after a few months of ownership. I investigated the issue with an electrician friend and found that one of the thin wires to the brush motor broke due to constant twisting and rubbing from daily use (see picture). The hose in the floorhead also split after 22 months, replaced under warranty. The motor assembly has poor sealing, leading to dust ingress (see picture). However everything else is fine, including the battery as said and attachments.
You will need to wash the filters about once a month and replace them outright twice a year, otherwise you will lose suction and the cyclonic action weakens. The post-motor (exhaust) filter clogs up over time, causing it to overheat and turn off by itself and can't be cleaned without skilled disassembly. The motor turning itself was also caused by a faulty thermal overload switch (see picture), a white rectangular component attached to the motor to protect it from overheating above 85*C, however it turned the motor off much lower than 85*C (confirmed by thermocouple). The exhaust design is poor because the exhaust airflow has to turn 180 degrees to point downwards. It would be better for straight airflow. Nevertheless, the pre-motor filters are easy to access and clean, the powerhead does most of the work and suction is secondary for pickup. It won't pick up cat litter or anything large though.
For $250 (now $150 on clearance) there is nothing in this price range that beats it. The optional attachments are well designed and useful, especially the flexible crevice tool and flexible extension hose. However, the build quality of the floorhead and sealing needs some work to get a better star rating.

Working as described and so powerful for its price – Doing its job as described. For the price it is worth. Good for carpets. Using it for four months and no complaints. Motor is powerful compared to its price. But charge is not enough for full house. Full charge in high power mode lasts for only 2 rooms or 15 mins. Rest all good and no complaint. I would have been given 5 stars if charge lasts… Read more
little longer may be for 30 mins or so. It is so compact and can fit any where. It comes with a wall mount holder which is usefull to stand it anywhere. So happy with the products and no complaints apart from not long lasting charge.
Very good for the money have had two Dyson vacs both broke down hoping my vacs will do better Graham – I have found this Vac excellent has good suction and hopefully it will outlast my two Dyson will broke down , I will never buy another Dyson thank you Van vx60 Show details
Better than a dyson – I use this on lino, tiles, upholstery, in the car and carpet. Very handy to use, battery lasts around 40 minutes on full power, takes around 2 hours to completely charge. Easy to empty and clean. For the price, I'm very happy with it. Replaced my Dyson with this vacuum and have no regrets. Show details

Great for 2 Weeks, then terrible – Purchased from Bunnings Warehouse, and immediately loved the power and ease of use. The barrel is quite small, however, and needs to be emptied frequently. The power head is quite efficient, and sucks a great deal of dirt and hair out of carpet, as well as working well on hard surfaces. Unfortunately, like almost all other power heads, the… Read more
rollers frequently tangle with hair and cotton (my wife is a seamstress.)
The filters are easy to access, and should be cleaned frequently.
Aside from the first two weeks, this vacuum has been nothing but trouble, unfortunately.
The machine will work for 2 minutes or so, and then due. The power head will continue to run, and all indicators will show the vacuum is on, however no power is present.
After 30 seconds or so, the vacuum will work as normal, only to turn off again after 30 seconds to a minute. This has been consistent for quite some time.
Upon calling VAX customer service, they advise that the motor is overheating due to a buildup of dust.
I took this advice, and proceeded to clean the vacuum meticulously, to no avail.
As a final step, (voiding any and all warranty) I disassembled the main body and inspected to see whether there was any dust that I wasn’t cleaning out. None was present.
I have since solved the problem and purchased a SHARK vacuum, which is more powerful, and has a more robust warranty.
Avoid and save your money.
So disappointing!!! – I loved it first off. Battery lasted longer than friends Dyson, looked good, more than half the price, but noticed not much went into the chamber. Stumbled al9ng with thing for ages but just about every go would have to clear a blockage and I avoided anything big that might cause bl9ckage. When the electric turbo head diedtook it back to Harvey… Read more
Norman(I d brought the extra protection) and rapped they gave me their latest model. Same problem! It's such a shame as quality, styling, suction just as good as Dyson, but the bendy tube in head just seems to block. If Vax worked that out it would be good.
Motor turns off by itself – Purchased new in February 2021. Was working great for 2 months but started cutting off after a 30 seconds I've returned it to the Good Guys under warranty and they've sent it for repair in Seven Hills. It's been 3 weeks and look forward to reviewing the repair. Show details

Almost perfect, heavy & dust bin needs multiple empties – Carpet & vinyl, pretty good on both; needed to use brush bar and boost on both though. My gosh the dirt it picked up was crazy considering place was vacuumed on Thursday! All of a sudden it turned off and wouldn’t turn back on, upon inspection discovered the dust bin was full, emptied it and away it went. Would be great for in between and daily… Read more
touch ups but I need a full time replacement, sadly this will not be it. Runtime is too short and I was extremely disappointed to discover it was not freestanding until I read the manual after I had opened and assembled.
Ok at first – Used this for quick in between vacuums on floorboards and carpet. Battery life is pretty good, however after about 6 months the dust/ particles started to get caught in the neck of the stick, meaning that virtually nothing was being sucked into the chamber and I'd have to fish out the blockage with a butter knife. I regularly clean the filter but… Read more
this does not help. Picks up some dirt but is pretty useless overall and absolutely would not recommend.
Unuseable VX60 – Purchased my VX60 from Harvey Norman late 2020 with extended warranty. It has never worked. Dust accumulates almost immediately and chokes the head and must be cleared out with a clothes hanger. It does not lift any particles larger than dust without the Brushbar activated. This results only in matter remaining in the head (for some reason… Read more
very little matter ever makes it to the bin) which is then flicked into my ankles or to scatter back across the floor should I lift it off the floor. I tried to return it to Harvey Norman earlier this year and they told me I should clean the filter more regularly. I did this without improvement. Sitting in my kitchen cupboard gathering dust. It's like a faulty copy of a Dyson.
Motor turned itself off after about 15-30 seconds, only 3mths old – Fantastic Vac at first, great suction... Great on turbo, east to use and light to carry around.... Then it decided to start turning itself of after 15-30 seconds, yes battery fully charged...rang Appliances online who had it picked up and sent for repair, so 3 weeks and no vax, wasnt impresed... Now have it back but doest seem as powerful. Show details

3 weeks out of warranty and no longer working and no help or assistance from Vax – The vax is only used on tiles and carpet, very rarely and not excessively at once. The vacuum while it was going was quite good, but 3 weeks after warranty ran out, the vax turns on, then turns off after 15 secs. Vax helpline would not offer anything other than it was out of warranty and suggested taking it to a service shop for repair. Show details

An ok short term stick vacuum – Only had this vacuum for two years before it completely died. I first purchased it to use in my studio apartment (floorboards + carpet) and it worked great using the booster button although this takes a toll on the battery life! A year later and I started having small issues, the power button would get stuck and turn off/on by itself while in use… Read more
(not a huge issue but something to note). Then the tube in the head of the vacuum split, despite being well looked after and not particularly over used. The newest issue is not charging at all, not sure if this is an issue with the charger or the vacuum cleaner itself but it looks like I'm going to have to purchase a new vacuum cleaner. In summary: good for spot vacuuming/small apartments, not an impressive lifespan.
Stay away – It lasted a couple of months, then started to switch itself off and on whilst using it. Now it won’t re-charge at all, lights flashing as if charging but not actually charging, not even to 25% Show details
Brush problems – First unit had the brush gear shred and fall apart after only 2 months and had the whole vacuum replaced. Second unit - brush belt slipping, suction terrible and head just flicks dirt out behind it. Waste of money. Show details
Disappointed – Was impressed with this stick vac to start with and bought it because I have another Vax upright, however like most people it now cuts out after only 20 seconds of operation, I also recommended it to a friend who is now having the same problems Show details
Not working – Battery does not last and vacuum battery only last for 20 min. Now it only runs for 2 min and stops. As it was a gift from a friend and we can't get an invoice they can't help. The service agent is so POORLY trained she can't even tell me where the date of manufacture is on the product says it's difficult as she's working from home. Sorry VAX sounds like you need better manuals and info for your staff.
The battery doesn't charge anymore! – I bought a Vax Blade VX60 in February this year and after 6 months the battery has already stopped charging. I turn the vaccum cleaner on and it turns off after few seconds. To be able to use I need to keep turning on and on. I've called the customer service and they want me to take it back to the purchase store. The company's responsibility is none! I have no receipt anymore and it's just my problem to find it. Terrible. Waste of Money. Ineffective and – I purchased this on 29 Feb and was bitterly disappointed. Used on rubber tiled floors only for dust, and the odd leaf that blew in. The suction was adequate to begin with, however it was very easily clogged and performance became so poor that even after emptying and cleaning the filter it would fail to pick up anything (off a rubber tile floor -… Read more
not even from carpet).
The last 2 weeks or so it actually made the floor worse! The stuff being sucked up would get stuck in the tube or stay in the rotating head of the vacuum (rather than going into the catcher) and when turned off it dumped it all back out back onto the floor.
This continued despite cleaning and emptying and making sure the tube etc was cleared of blockages. As a result, I happily smashed it into a brick wall and bid it good riddance as I tossed it into the bin. Do not waste your time and money on this machine. I have returned to using a plugged in wet/dry vac from Bunnings instead.

We're on to our 3rd replacement – First one we bought, the brush head stopped spinning and it kept overheating and turned off. It was about 8 months old. Got it replaced with a brand new one under warranty. 6 months if that and the bloody thing won't turn on and when it does it won't turn off again . Brush head doesn't sound either. The filter is awful to clean too and takes days… Read more
to dry if you wash it. Good idea, rubbish product. We have it in for repairs again so 3rd one now in 18 months
Poor Quality – After 12 months use the connecting hose in the head split in three locations. Hose is not sold separately, only complete head at $124. Head replaced under warranty, took three weeks for a ten second job. Shortly after, became very noisy from dry fan motor bearings grinding. Stripped down and re-lubricated myself, probably voided remaining… Read more
warranty. Obviously very poor bearing sealing from dust forced around motor during exhaust. A poor quality product overall.
waste of hard earned money – When new this vacuum stick was good on carpet and hard slate flooring, once used approximately 20 times the belt was slipping when power head was used on carpet. I replaced the belt and after using only once it is slipping again. I have pulled apart many times to make sure nothing is caught up. thus was a complete waste of $260.00. Show details
Worst stick vac – By far the worst vacuum I have ever used. If you like your dust blown back at your, then this is for you. If you want power and pretty ok suction on carpet then this isn't bad. Battery power is woeful and only really works on the highest power with the added power of the brush bar. I wish I had saved up an extra $100/$$200 and got a Dyson. Seriously, a broom does a better job than this crap. Not worth it at all. Show details
crap... battery now lasts about 20 mins, spits out all the particles instead of sucking them up – total waste of money... my cheap plug in gets the job done way better... poor battery life , poor suction even after a thorough clean. avoid this complete rip off at all costs Show details
Good stick vacuum – I have owned this Vax Blade stick vaccum for over a year now and had been very happy. Easy to use, power head is perfect for carpet clean with having two people with allergy at home. The design can be improved by having a little large canister to collect dust and able to remove power head to get rid of stuck hair.... Otherwise good stick vacuum for everyday cleaning. Show details
Rubbish – After 6 months suction is non existent. Impossible to remove hair from it too. Don't waste your money. It just pushes dirt around the floor now. Also it doesn't stand by itself. Show details
Good for 6 months – This vacuum is good for 6 months, you will LOVE IT! But after the honeymoon period it starts making grinding noises, spits out particles, looses suction, and doesn't charge. If you need something for occasional spot cleaning, then go for it. But any further than that, then grab a $50 kmart vaccum. Show details
Love it – Very happy with how versatile this is. Dont miss having a plug in vacuum. Great for in the car too. Top is little bit weighty but I knew this before purchase and doesnt bother me. Fittings are tight but you get used to them. Dont regret my purchase. Show details
Better than Dyson! – I replaced my Dyson handheld with this vax blade and I love it! I use it on tiles and my rug - it works great on both surfaces. It’s very powerful and also has an additional function of more power and you can control if you want to turn the spin section off (something you can’t do with Dyson) this is my favourite feature as it means less tangled hair! Love and def recommend it. It is a little bulky/heavy to hold but I don’t mind it. Show details
My new best friend! – This vacuum works well on both my tiles and carpet. The swivel head gets into all the hard places and also lies flat to reach under furniture. Battery life is great and lasts long enough to do my 3bed 2 bath house, and is light and compact enough to wip out for a quick clean up after the kids. Show details
great vacuum strong suction – I bought a Vax vx60 cordless vacuum cleaner, it has great suction well made great for hard floors wood and tiles ,all the parts come apart for easy cleaning of the filters highly recommend it Show details
Very disappointing – The only positive I found was that it’s cordless. The motor is not powerful and doesn’t clean up any pet fur or hair from the carpet or tiles. Very disappointed. Could have done better with the price you pay for the vacuum Show details
