More like a toy than a cleaning equipment – Bought this Vileda Virobi Robotic Mop from Target at promotion price of about $39. It was good price and well made but the product fails to deliver as a cleaning aid. Using the static cleaning pad, it does not pick up much more than just fine dust and hair. It does not work on carpet or rug but that is ok. However, for the hard floor, it… Read more
doesn't clean much either. We have to pre-sweep the floor before running this robotic mop, otherwise the cleaning pad would be filled up in minutes and being of disposable type, it's costly to keep changing. Therefore, its use is limited to just for touch up and entertaining the kids.
Its name as a 'mop' is also misleading because it's not supposed to be used in wet area. In fact, just a small drip on the floor can cause the disposable cleaning pad to get sticky and shorten its limited useful life.
The unit gets malfunction (with different blinking light for diagnosis) every now and again for many different possible reasons eg. hair get stuck, stuck with furniture, or even getting on a bit of water. It seems easy to reset and my kids are more than happy to fix it.
Now, it just serves as a fancy toy for the kids as we're running out of the cleaning pad and I refuse to refill because it's not useful as a cleaning equipment, even with new cleaning pads. It'll just be good at randomly picking up fine dust and hair at best for the first few minutes of new cleaning pad use. After that, it just pushes the dirt around. Good looking. Long battery life (after full charge), inexpensive (compared to other robotic vacuum) Limited use to clean (only pick up fine dust and hair), Need to pre-clean the floor prior to use (incl get rid of any wet patches), Disposable cleaning pads get clog up quickly and the unit is useless without.
