The Villeroy Boch Subway 3.0 is SUPER PRONE TO BLOCKAGES – We just renovated two separate bathrooms, installing one of these toilets in both of our bathrooms. In the one month since completion of renovations, both toilets have probably blocked 15 times. It is actually ridiculous. It is a genuine coin flip whether it will clear or I’ll have to spend 5 minutes with a plunger clearing the pipes. I’ve even begun flushing the toilet once after doing the business, and a second with toilet paper, and even STILL it will sometimes block. Now we are looking at having to replace both toilets and don’t even know how we can chase up an exchange/refund given the nature of this problem. Super disappointing, especially for $1200 each!

Purchased in for $1,199.

Prone to blockages – Newly renovated bathroom. Within a week, numerous blockages due to toilet paper. Have now replaced the toilet with an Australian brand. We feel this is a European brand where the use of bidets rather than toilet paper is the common practice. Unfortunately not a good buy where paper requires flushing.

Purchased in at Candana Bathroom ware Woollahra for $1,146.65.

Twist Flush is ineffective and prone to blockages – I acquired a number of these as part of home renovation. Having now used them for a while , my experience has been - they block very easily. I even started following the practice of flushing before using toilet paper and even then in some cases flush struggled. I think issue is that effectiveness of flush requires the twist (cyclone) water flow to develop, but if their is a reasonable amount of faecal material, the twist doesn't have a chance to develop and you are simply left with weight of water to clear it. The initial water flow is very gentle. - in some cases paper has blocked toilet and this can be user error of too much paper. However what seems to be happening is that when the twist does start it rolls paper into a ball which is then hard to clear if blockage occurs. While some some this might be "user error" , I have been using toilets a long time and I haven't had such an easily blocked toilet before. My recommendation is do NOT buy this model.
